Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Ryoty snarled and swung her fist at him so hard her whole body followed. Her fist passed right through his face unfortunately and she fell back against the wall, glaring at nothing in particular. Her hair hung loosely down around her face, hiding it in shadow which made her eyes look as if they were veritably glowing. "He's up to something," she growled.

Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
ooc: ok, then I remember mah last post

bic:
Shadrak sat in the midst of his forest-bowered room, having phase-shifted in. "This will do nicely," he muttered to himself. He sat and meditated. A slow grin crept across his face as a dark miasma crept from where he sat to the vines and plant-life surrounding him.
Greens faded a darker green, browns faded almost to sable, and the plants started moving. Slowly at first, then they picked up speed, whipping around. The solid wood moaned hauntingly with the movement. The darkened life whipped around him, as if performing a demonic death dance for their master.
Shadrak's face lifted, his eyes gleamed blood-red, and a sick smile slit his face. The mess of darkened greenery twisted together, moaning, ripping, whooshing, tearing. Until a man-form made of the defiled remnants of a plant-spell stood in front of Shadrak, bowing to the red-eyed demon.

ooc: creepy, no? :lol

ooc: *falls backwards off chair shouting, "HO-LY F*CK!!"
Now let's see if we can kick-start my muses into motion.

bic: Outside the ship, the sun had set and the sky was growing darker in hue as the light faded from day to night. Ryoty was below deck sitting at the head of the captain's table, a rectangular table set on a raised platform overlooking the rest of the crowded mess hall. Her feet were crossed and resting on it, the hood of her rain jacket up over her head. The mess hall was loud as usual, fights breaking out every now and then, men bawling with laughter, and food flying everywhere. But these were pirates. This was to be expected of such men. What was also expected, was the fact that they could hear the tinkling of wealth a mile away. She shrugged her hand into her pocket and pulled out a hand full of fairy tears. She held her fist up and let them tinkle down into her other hand. She held up her other hand and let them tinkle back. Slowly, heads turned, and the sounds of the hall stilled as more and more caught the sound of jewels clinking against each other. She continued pouring the jewels from one hand to the other until it was silent. The sound of the jewels being heard in every corner had the men staring greedily at her hands. She picked one up and examined it, sparkling in the light. She sat up in her chair and pushed her hood back.
"I'm gonna be straight forward with you." She paused, and shifted in her chair again.
"I'm sure you've noticed our winged passenger; she's been on deck often enough. I guess what I'm trying to say is, we've been hired."

Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
ooc: *giggles* hmm... now I either reveal the deep dark secret now, or next post.. .hmmm XD

bic:
Shadrak rose, with his demon ward, and stalked toward the door. All the plant life that had obscured the walls and door was now twisted into his dark creation. He slid out the door like an oil slick on the water and stalked onto the deck.
He looked for the captain and crew, then half his mouth twitched upward into a sick smile that promised foul, painful death.

Down in the cargo hold, someone moaned feverishly from under a pile of black rags. He curled up, muttering gibberish.

ooc: maaaw *looks all innocent* :lol

ooc: Ogga ogga ogga ogga ogga! That's the first word that came to mind after reading your mysterious yet annoying post. I hope you're happy woman; you got my mind speaking gibberish!

bic: "There's... one set back though."
Her crew, not stupid when it came to things like this, waited with baited breath for her to continue. Whatever someone was willing to pay that amount of wealth for had to be more dangerous then anything they'd heard of. Or the captain was just really sly and got that much out of the poor sucker. They were leaning toward the former. The captain clered her throat. Here it came.
"She wants us to sail around the world."
For a moment, there was nothing but silence; nothing like she imagined their reaction would be. Then everyone exhaled with relief.
"That's it?" someone asked. "Just sail around the world? Why would someone pay us that much to sail from Nogulath Bay through the sea Gev to the Sheelaf Gulf?"
"Well she's not really paying us to sail "around" the known world persay. She wants us to... pick a point on the eastern sealine and sail eastward from there."
"To...?"
"To... to until we hit land again."
"But... that would mean we would have to sail out of sight of land. As in over the edge of the world."
"...Yup."
Big mistake. The whole mess hall errupted in angry calls and outspoken denial. Ryoty knew this was going to happen. She let it go one for a moment, then held up the jewel.
"Would you do it for one of these?"
Denial was loud in her ears with her crew's anger.
"Would you do it for one... each?"
Suddenly it was so quiet she could hear a pin drop across the room. She picked up another one.
"Two?" She rolled them around in her palm for a moment, then pushed herself up again and stood, walking around the table and leaning against it.
"That's her offer. Two each. No pirate worth his salt doesn't know what this is; what a fairy tear is worth."
There was silence as the men turned and looked at each other uncertainly. They'd risked their lives for less then a hundredth of what a fairy tear was worth, but to go over the edge of the world? Ryoty sighed dramatically.
"All right," she said, as if they'd dragged it out of her. "Three fairy tears."
The men stared at her, mouth agape.

booc: Okay Fuzzy, I don't know what you want me to do so help me out here.

ooc: well demon shaddy is gonna start wreaking havoc, some screaming sailors with smoking beards would be appropriate! :rollin

bic:
Shadrak motioned to his dark creation. It moaned like the sound of old trees keeling over after centuries of slow life.
It creaked slowly across the deck. Then it stopped, reached down and started peeling the deck boards up.

ooc:
After the pirates notice, some fighting happens, then I may reveal the mysterious man in the cargo hold! :D :lol

Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
ooc: Uh-ohhhhhz.

bic: Being that the mess hall was right below deck, it didn't take them long to realize something was tearing up the deck above them. More pointedly actually, someone looked up, saw the demon and screamed like a little girl. Ryoty and the rest of the crew followed his gaze to the ceiling and they scrambled away from the hole. Ryoty had leaned back onto the table instinctively when she realized what the rest of the crew was doing. She leaned forward and rolled off the table.
"Arm! Get on deck and take care of that thing!"
Damon jumped into action and men were scrambling up, their former pirate composure restored as they wielded their guns and cutlesses. Ryoty ducked her head from side to side, catching something behind the demon and glared.
"And somebody kill that mage!"

ooc: and tis' revealed!!

bic:
Shadrak looked at the Pirates swarming from the ship that he was in the process of destroying. Then his features melted and his skin ran off, slagging into a little puddle of smoking goo.
The demon creature chuckled and looked straight at Ryoty.
"I'm afraid your little mage-friend couldn't make it for the party!" He cackled hideously.

Ryoty's eyes narrowed. "What did you do with the mage?" she asked pointedly, although it was more thinking out loud to him then anything. Pirates poured from below decks, now frenzied up and ready to kill anything that moved as they charged the demon and his floran creation.

Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
The demon turned with a sick, twisted smile.
"Your mage has been missing since the Dark Legion port Missy!" he cackled. "I've been playing that weak, useless creature, but no more! Now that you can not make it back to shore in time to save yourselves, even as you hurl yourselves from the burning wreck of this ship, NOW I WILL DESTROY YOU!" The demon cast magic in a voice that sounded like something living being dragged across jagged glass. He hurled thunder and fire. His tree-man lumbered through the flames, now on fire, still destroying anything it could get its hands on.

The limp bundle nestled in black rags stirred in the cargo hold. The demon's wicked laugh had reached his ears. Shadrak sat up with a moan and leaned on a nearby barrel for support. He hung his head. The demon's power had warped his power, and the warped power within him had upset the chemical balance in his body. He was just now recuperating from the wild fever he'd been thrown into. He shook his head and dragged himself to his feet. His magic wasn't what it had been at the moment, but damned if he was gonna lay around and let the ship burn around him.
He quickly doused the flames beginning to eat away at the cargo hold with ice spells and flame-retardent spells. He sighed and dragged himself out of the cargo hold, to face the hell of chaos on deck.

The men formed a circle around it and the Demon, spitting and snarling viciously as they tried to contain the two. All they did though was move around them as the creature moved across the deck, leaving scorch marks in the shape of foot prints until some genius showed up with tridents. Together, they herded it toward the closest edge of the ship. The crowd suddenly parted as Ryoty strode confidently to the front and stared piercingly at the demon.
"So what did you do to the mage? Don't get me wrong; I'm not worried or anything, he's caused more gtrouble then he's worth. I just want to know what you did with him."

The demon grinned cruelly. "I left him behind in the Black Legions port for my masters to find," It grinned hideously, revealing scorched and bleeding gums sporting blackened teeth, "And they'll be none to kind to him when they find him. Hehehe, they probably already have! He'd make a tasty treat, barbecued and tortured for a week until the meat is all stringy and full of fear!" The demon cackled. It was a good demon, but it enjoyed talking just a bit too much. "We left him far far behind"
Shadrak rose up behind the demon. "Too bad you didn't make sure I was dead," he hissed in tones of pure ice.
The demon's eyes widened, he knew he was already defeated.
Two pairs of silver claws flashed through the demon's body. Shadrak stood, with a snarl on his face, watching the demon fall to the ground, twitching and in pieces.

ooc: MWAH!

The crew pushed the flaming creature over the side of the ship, watched as it hit the water and then came to stand around Ryoty, looking from her to the mage expectantly. She watched the demon drop to the deck, stared at it for a minute, then looked up at Shadrak, her face expressionless. Ryoty said only one thing;
"You're cleaning that up."
With that, she turned on her heal and walked away, called Damon over to her and began issuing orders.
"Get the Twins to light some oil lamps; it's pitch black out here! Get some men to work on those boards with the scorch marks on it; salvage what you can. Oh! And tell the mage to see me in my study, I want to talk to him."
With a nod, Damon went to work and barked orders, the ship working within minutes like a well-oiled machine.

Shadrak incinerated the remains of the demon, not letting a single scorch mark more get on the ship.
Then he trudged after Ryoty, about ready to drop, and still feeling like he was going to hurl. He staggered into her study, leaning on the doorframe, going an interesting shade of green.

ooc: MWAH! XD
for the full explanation if ya need:
He's been too close to the demon's warping magic for too long, and he's gonna be sick until he cleans his magic of the demon's magic

Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Ryoty was sitting at her desk studying a map when he came in, looking like death warmed over. Now, you have to understand something about Ryoty; she's tougher then hyde on the outside, able to kill with a moments notice, and hard as tack with anything and everything she wants to be hard with. But much to her chagrin, she still had a soft spot in her heart for the underdog and people in need and - well you get the picture. So her actions were completely understandable in these circumstances. Just so you understand. Ryoty walked around, brushed some stacked books off a chair and ordered him to sit down. She walked over to the vanity stand, poured some cool mead from a glass pitcher into a goblet, grabbed an apple from her dinner plate and set them on the desk in front of Shadrak. She walked around to the front of the desk and leaned against it, crossed her arms and feet and focused on Shadrak.
"Are you all right?"

Shadrak was examining the apple and drink in front of him. "Let's see shall we?" he muttered in response and tried some of the mead. That stayed down.
"Yeah, I think so," he said finally, curled up in his chair, holding the mead. "Sorry 'bout that," he grinned half-wryly, "I should've seen it coming." He shrugged.

ooc:

Shadrak began his narrative, still curled up cutely in his chair.
"Well, me and Damon were in the warehouse, looking the goods over. Something grabbed me from behind and I conked out. Before that though, I managed a lock-locator spell which wound me up in the hold of your ship. It took over as soon as the demon was distracted with making Damon think it was me. I should've seen it coming because well... it was a Black Legion port! I was bound to be recognized, " he shrugged, "Then I woke up here when the demon was dealing wreckage out with what could only be described as the worst hangover ever... without the benefit of having gotten drunk." He shrugged.

Ryoty digested this information.
"I see. So why did it wait so long to strike? Why not just lock the main hatch and burn the ship down while we were all in the mess hall?"
