bic: ... Peace sign, she thought contemplatingly, her head cocked to the side and al her wieght on her right foot. She rubbed her neck. Suddenly, she had an idea.
"This Black Legion is after only you right?"
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Megumi suddenly stepped between Ryoty and shadrak. "What or who exactly does this 'Black Legion' consist of?" She asked in a voice that demanded her question be answered first. she suddenly had a commanding presence that boasted years of fighting experience. "What exactly are we up against?"
She didn't like the feeling she had in the pit of her stomach.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Ryoty raised an eyebrow at her. Now where did this come from? She glanced at Shadrak and lazily waved a hand at him as if to say, "Well? You know the details."
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Shadrak sighed, "well.... now they're actually after this ship and all the occupants, ever since we ran away from that dock back there..."
He turned to Megumi, "Well... it's kind of like all the unsavory monsters the world over got together and made an army... it's held together by a dark mage whom I only know by repute." He made a face, "They suck!" XD
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
"Aside from a full-on assault completely doomed to failure... well... I dunno." He thought a moment, contemplating the deck beneath his feet. "Would you consider getting this ship re-outfitted to look entirely different in the next port, Tarageado, before the open sea? I have some contacts who could get it done for free, but it IS your ship, and captain's get attached to 'em, doncha think?"
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
The captain had this teary pout about her face at the mention of altering her ship.
"My ship... Can you change it back?" Her eyes were large.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
A strange, touching, and almost perverted scenario flashed across Shadrak's mind. "Yes, yes! of course," he nodded quickly, dashing that fragment of oddly thought from his mind.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
"Tarageado lies due west of here. It's a hangout for mage-pirates. You won't find it on any maps, because it's beneath the ocean's surface." He looked at the bloody sunset bathing the ship in an etheral red glow. "We should arrive at the entry point tomorrow afternoon.
He noted Megumi's unrest and frowned, then shrugged and yawned. What would be could jolly well wait until tomorrow.
"I'ma gonna turn in then, if there's nothing else?"
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
"Just point the helmsman in the right direction and the nights' yours." She turned to Muggu. "I'm sorry Ms. Meggu, but if you have any better ideas...?"
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Megumi shook her head. "I have none. Just a feeling that this will end badly...most likely brought on by fear...or that is my hope anyway. I think it best if my identity is hidden when we attempt this captain...for the safty of all." She turned to shadrak. "I'd like to speek to you in private if I could, Sir Dragon."
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
"That's fine with me, you'll have to stick in your room though. I need a drink," she said sourly and headed acros her deck to her cabin. She might need her whole stash for this one.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Shadrak blinked, "Of course fae, my door is always open." He smiled and dipped his head in an informal bow, "My cabin's at the far end of the ship, no listening walls there," he said, then led the way to his cabin.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
She returned his bow with one of her own, then followed him to his cabin. She waited till the door closed before she began speeking. "How long has this Dark Legion been about?"
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
"Habudai..." Shadrak blew a lock of black hair out of his eyes as he contemplated, "...about a thousand years if you include all its incarnations, if you just count from when the organization was offically recognized AS the Black Legion... I'ma gonna saaay about a hundred, hundred and fifty years, why?"
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
"Because of the creatures you discribed. It means that the place we sealed isn't the only portal these things are coming out of. It means these armies have been building with out our knowledge. It means that my bretheren accross the sea may already be fighting for their own lives." she looked and felt momentarily hopless.
