Shadrak coughed and coloured slightly. "Errrrm... a bit?" he offered tentatively, noting the sudden sharpening of Ryoty's gaze and wondering if perhaps it would be smart to admit it in her presence. Some people had a devout hate of dragons, but he couldn't read Ryoty, so he really didn't know.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Megumi noded. "Then perhaps you would know...Tell me, will you're kind assist mine this time, or will my people once again have to fight and die in this war alone?" There was no bitterness in her voice...More of a calm willingness to accept the answer, whatever it might be.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Shadrak cast his eyes down. "I pledge my help, but I cannot vouch for my race." His voice was pitched low, his eyes hooded. He was bare inches from being an outcast both socially and entirely, he knew he could never approach the dragon councils with someone else's plea for help. "You'd have to ask them yourselves."
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Good answer; answering only for himself yet politically covering his ass. She nodded her head appreciatively and turned to Meggu.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Megumi looked at him a moment, as though sorting through her feelings on the matter. A small, almost friendly smile came to her lips and she noded. "Thank you. I may just do that...If i survive the trip, that is..." somthing about the way he held himself kept her from saying more...
She turned back to Ryoty. "But now I think I sould go above deck and direct your helmsman toward the islands..."
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Megumi noded. "I'll do that." She stood and turned for the door, but stopped behind Shadrak's chair. She put a gentle hand on his shoulder. "I do not hold the mistakes of the past to my heart, as some do. Your gesture is noble, and I thank you for it." her voice was soft, yet the emotion behind it was strong and true. Without another word, she left the room and made her way to the helm.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Ryoty raised her eyebrows at Meggu's comment as she left the room. She picked up her pad and said, "Well Master Shadrak, it seems you've made a friend aboard this ship." Why did he come here? Oh yeah. He was bored. What could he do...? "Why don't you go topdeck and do some reconasaince in your dragon form? Keep an eye out for the islands?"
ooc: kay, gonna try and move this along. Damon was the helmsman right? if not i'll just edit the name later. This thurs is my last day of school and free net access, after that, i dont know how often i'll be on...
bic: Megumi walked up beside the helmsman...Damon she rememberd the captain calling him. "excuse me? um...Damon, was it? I'm supposed to direct you on a course change toward some Islands where we can resupply..." she wasn't usually this timid around people, but with her wing acting up, she felt suddenly vulnerable.
Re: Harakel: Cain's Tavern cont.
Megumi closed her eyes for a moment, reaching out around her, feeling for the life of the islands. Her eyes opened again and she pointed toward the horizon, slightly starbord. "that way..."
