Re: The Killing Game (continued)

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
Maverick's eyes narrows at Shadrak's giggle and then followed his gaze to the twitching fish. "It...it was you!" he shouted accusingly. He pushed himself to his feet. "You're a dragon!" He poked Shadrak in the chest with an accusatory finger. "You lied to me!" Shadark had never lied. He'd never told Maverick that he was anything but human. But Maverick some how felt cheated, like Shadrak had been leading him on and he was the but of some huge joke.

Shadrak cocked his head to one side, one could see now that his eyes seemed a bit more like cat's eyes, and almost silver. "Lied?" Shadrak frowned, "but I never lied, I've never cheated...in fact, I went drag before..." Shadrak stopped mid-sentence, realizing a different meaning for 'drag', he fought to keep the insane laughter inside.

The accidental humor was not lost on Maverick and once again he marvalled at his friend's childish maturity. "Yes, I'll bet you did," he said dryly, a small smile twisting his lips. "My friend, you have meny secrets; and each one I discover is more and more suprising as I go along. What's next? No, wait. Don't tell me. You're a God, right?"

ooc: He's trying not to freak.

Shadrak pantomimed zapping people from above, mockingly. Shadrak shrugged and tryed to look nonchalant, "'t'weren't like it was my decision..." he said wryly.

Maverick laughed, a high pitched, nervous laugh and scratched his head. "So you're a dragon." He began walked back toward the camp in the ruins. "Ah, don't forget the fish," he said absently to Shadrak.

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
Shadrak cocked his head to one side, "A BIG FUZZY DRAGON!" he yelled after Maverick. ...after debating for a moment or so, he realized that Maverick was obviously not used to krazy things happening out of the blue, so he didn't morph dragon, he just levitated the fish back. "Y'know, if ye hang around with me, you'd better get used to such things as ppl you know turning in to freaks on occassion, these things tend to happen around me," Shadrak said, catching up to Maverick.

"So what your saying is that I should just let go of my sanity and all attempts at rationality and relax?" He cockedhis head to one side as if in thought and responded, "Not a bad idea. I might stay sane that way." He walked in silence for a while, and suddenly straightened. "Wait a minute! I carried you! I was hurt, and wounded, and I carried you for miles away from that cave when you were unconcious. I carried a dragon!" He laughed incredulously.

Shadrak grinned, "Insane laughter bordering on hysteria, that's a good sign," he finished wryly. "Sanity is for those who can afford it," he made a face.

"Yes, I do suppose that's true. So you're a dragon. Why didn't you tell me? Oh, you're cooking that fish by the way."

Shadrak grinned, "gee, I dunno, prolly 'cuz it never came up in conversation." He laughed, "How would you like it? crispy or uber-crispy?" he blew a smoke ring and grinned.

Shadrak grinned, "Want moisture? Jump in a lake, hehe."
Shadrak got the large fish to levitate in the air at the campsite, and managed to make it rotate too. He went dragon (small-size) and sat there, looking bored and blasting the beasty fish.

Maverick came back with a bucket of water from the well and sat down near the fire pit. He took one look at Shadrak and chuckled. "Nifty," he said. "It looks as if it's useful having a dragon around the campsite eh?" He stripped off his shirt and cloak, took a rag out of his bag and began washing off the dried fruitpaste from the night before.

Shadrak made a face, "Useful? maybe... if you like sleeping within ten metres of an 'orrible li'l beastie as can rip joo to shreds in mere moments if 'e got a li'l annoyed," Shadrak's tone was dry, and mocking, mocking the dragons of lesser intellect who WOULD prolly do that, 'cuz they were idiots...
"Anyhoo," Shadrak levitated the crispy fish onto a bed of leaves he'd been casually arranging while roasting the thing, "Supper's ready." He morphed back to human, looking slightly surly, kinda bored, also tired.

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
"Smells delicious." He frowned at Shadrak as he put his shirt back on. Was something wrong? He took out his belt knife and started carving chunks of meat off the bone, handing a rather large chunk to Shadrak and carving off a smaller one for himself. He bit into the meat and the juices flowed. His mouth watered. Dragons knew how to cook! "My compliments to the chef," he said between mouthfuls. "So tell me about dragons," he tried to get a conversation started. The silence was a bit harsh for some reason.

"Meow!" Shadrak said, "hmm, I think this's better'n propane!" He exclaimed, referring to another dimension he'd visited.
" 'boot dragons, eh? well," he shrugged, "I'm a freak so I'm goin' on personal experience here, dun trust it to be a universal fact 'bout drag people," he made a half amused, half mocking face. "Well, I can blow fire, obviously, I can travel through dimensions, with baggage," he grinned evilly at Maverick. "I'm a wee bit of a freak, as I mentioned before, so I can morph, as a result," to demonstrate his point his morphed through a quick succession of animals right in front of Maverick, bear, wolf, black panther, kitten, snail, mouse, imp, hawk, and back to human. He made a face, "Damn I hate snails, all slimey and gooky." He shrugged, "Otherwise, I can work magic like a human mage, and anything else, well, your best guess as to what I'm capable of is as good as mine." :p

Maverick blinked at Shadrak as he morphed. Wow. "So, you haven't fully explored your magic yet," he asked as he took another mouthful of fish and chewed vigourously.
