Re: The Killing Game (continued)
ooc: Mwahahahaha--ack!(cough)(clears throat) I mean, uh, nothing! Nothing at all!

bic: The little spark grew to the size of a marble--a tennis ball-- a basketball. And around it was a system of planets, the basketball now glowing brightly as a sun.(Because it was a sun)

ooc: Touch something again! Touch something again!

ooc: ...you're planning something!!!!....mommy...

Shadrak blinked...shrugged, then grinned and randomly reached out and touched things.

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
ooc: (smothered mischievious laughing in the backround):evil

bic: The more Shadrak touched and pressed the glowing figurines, the deeper and more clear things became. He pressed the second planet and it expanded until it was all that was shown, encompassing him and the globe. He touched the surface of the oceans and it delved beneath the great ocean , right to the bottom like a speeding bullet. He maneuvered into great crevices, weaving through tunnels until he was at the very center of the planet. At the very center of the planet, a blue jewel floated in an endless void, sparkling as if it were the sun.

ooc: Okay, sorry but I godmoded a little bit:o . If you don't like it I can change it, but I kinda needed to guide you somewhat. Is that all right?

bic:
Shadrak closed his eyes until the spinning in his head stopped. When he opened them there was a bright blue thing sparkling right in front of him. Shadrak grinned and reached out, without thinking, of course, and grabbed it.

ooc: sooo....what terrible and horrible catastrophe have I unleashed?? *grins + juad*

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
ooc: No it doesn't! You sure you didn't do sumting wong? I's gots no eee-mail. But as for what you just did, do you remember in Greek mythology about those Titans...? :evil (EVIL snickering in backround)

bic: Sharak reached out and snatched the jewel. Suddenly, the jewel itself cracked, and began to slide sideways, like a diagonally cut picture. Sudden silence reigned in the world, as if time itself had come to a sudden halt at the proximity of this magnanmous event and then all that could be heard was the tiny tinkling of shattered glass hitting the ground, tiny cracks appearing in the smooth surface of the jewel. Those tiny cracks began to expand, and out poured forth the most hidious and terrifying things imaginable. Pure evil poured from the jewel, and right beside it came out the strangest of companions; pure good. Both came streaming out of the hole, and hole it was. Shadrak had just reopened a doorway sealed for countless millenia. A doorway that was locked and sealed against something mind boggling. Sound came back with a vengence as wind roared all around them and the ground shook, one would think, almost from anger. Gut wrenching howls escaped the evil while the good brought forth music that brought tears to the eyes. Monsters hidious beyond description crawled through the passage on numerous legs while creatures of untold beauty spiraled toward the heavens. Darkness as to overpower even Dalamar the Dark One escaped into the night while purifying light so bright none could stare directly at it shone forth blinking out the fire.

It was the howls and shrieking of horror that awoke Maverick. One moment he was laying down by the fire and the next he stared up in awe and horror at what poured out of the jewel. He was dreaming. Surely he was dreaming. He had to be dreaming. Nothing so evil or grotesque could exist in the world. Nothing so beautiful or pure could either. Could it exist in his mind then? He absent mindedly noticed Shadrak hanging from something above the fire, but was too mesmerized by the sight before him to give the thought any notice. It seemed, to the Gods watching above, that Shadrak had restarted a war that had been put on hold since countless time past.

ooc: Nice going Shad.

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
ooc: :o whoopsiedoodle! *grins evilly*

Shadrak stood (on nothing really) with his head cocked to one side, attempting to take in the scene and come up with an adequate reaction to it.

~Time Passes~

He couldn't. He finally shrugged and turned away, a little dazed. "WHOA-ump!" Shadrak tripped over Maverick....or perhaps trip wasn't the right word, it was more like a fall right over the area where he was. Shadrak did a faceplant into the ground beside Maverick. There was a muffled "ow". Shadrak sat up. He was still holding some shattered shards of the crystal. One of the shards cut him. His blood flowed out slowly from the cut and all over the shards. They glowed for a moment, blood red, then hardened, deep dark red jewels in the shape of dragons. There were two of them.

ooc: wheeee, I have no awe and proper emotional state-ness today, eh :P

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
The remaining shards of the jewel began to rotate, slowly at first, then faster and faster, spinning and spinning until it was a blur. The light and dark pouring from it began to mix, interweaving with each other and suddenly, it was gone. The orb went up in smoke, the visions blurred until they were no more. It just disappeared, taking the sound with it. The shaking ground to a halt, the sound to a roaring silence. Everything was still; too still. Slowly, slowly, jaw dropped and eyes wide and unblinking, Maverick turned to stare at Shadrak. And it was some time before he spoke. "Wh...what...what....?" Suddenly the adranaline that had surged through his body ran out, and a heavy weariness fell upon him. He lay back down, his eyes staring up into the night sky. Eventually, the forest came back to life, but it took a long time. Creatures scurried through the forest, night owls hooted, the world settled back down to sleep as if what had just happened was just a dream. What had just happened? Was it a dream? It was a long time before he gathered the courage to voice such a question. "Shadrak... what just happened?"

Shadrak looked up from the two dragon shaped shards in his hand, "Meow?" He blinked several times, trying to get his head straight.
After a moment or so Shadrak shrugged, "Damned if I know."
Shadrak also gazed at the sky for awhile after letting himself flump to the ground beside Maverick. He held the two dragon-shards up to the moonlight and starlight. "Hey Mav..." he waved one in front of Maverick's face, "ye want one?"

Maverick frowned at the red dragon crystals for a moment. "What's that?" He knew he should be shocked by what he'd just seen, but for some reason, he wasn't. He plucked the crystal out of Shadrak's hand. "Where'dja get it?" It shone in the moonlight, reflecting a thousand shards of light dancing across Maverick's face.

"I don't know" Shadrak was looking at the other blood-red shard, reflection everything from crimson to vermillion. He stroked it and the colours swirled, "...like blood..." he muttered. He looked at the finger that had stroked the crystal and he saw his blood for a moment, there were strains of black and red running through it. "...weird.."

"Duuuuuude!" he looked at the dragon-crystal, "It's like..." he frowned, "blood."
He was gazing at the crystal in an abstracted way, "...Blood crystal? ...blood stone? ...I know this..."

ooc: sorry! I'm being all weird and shifty and mysterious! WOOT!

"Blood crystal...blood ruby..." Maverick offered, trying to figure out at the moment, what is was, exactly, his friend was trying to think of. "Where'd you get it? I've never seen anything like it before." He reached over and picked up the crystal, then dropped it like it was was horse dung. "Yuck! That's disgusting! Shadrak, what did you put on it?" He wiped his hand on the grass. This new friend of his was truely childish when he got right down to it.

Shadrak looked up confused, ((btw, you just picked up MINE right?)) "I don't know..." he muttered, as he looked down at his finger, and the blood streaming from it.

ooc: Um, yeah, I guess so... Uhhhhhhh

bic: "You know what, Shadrak? Today has been to long a day for me. I've been chased by a strange creature that inhabits corpses, attacked by a three-headed fire-breathing gorgon, nearly killed by a seductive she-demon that turned out to be too ugly beyond description--why I can still see after viewing that hidious thing I will never know but that's besides the point-- I had to carry you miles to these beat-up old ruins in horrible condition I might add, where I encounter," He waved his hands in the air to show how frustrated he was, "-something! And whatever it is you did I know it's not going to be good for the rest of the galaxy, but... but that can wait until tomorrow and right now I'm too tired to deal with any of it, so... goodnight." With that he turned over nad wrapped his claok about him as tightly as he could and went to sleep, never noticing the fact that the fire had gone out in the pit.

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
Shadrak looked rather dazed yet, and had only half-heard Maverick's speech. He finally managed to bandage up his finger which was still bleeding profusely, threw a bit of heat-giving magefire into the air above them. THen he looked at maverick, "Good idea," he mumbled, also flopping down, but, thankfully, still with enough common sense to throw a warding around them before dropping off...not that it was needed.
Shadrak woke up without any more interruptions during the night. THe sun was starting to rise and it gave the clouds an odd bloody look, "Gee, that looks cheerful, must mean today's my lucky day." The sarcasm was thick in his voice.

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
The sun was up and Shadrak too, but Maverick, on the other hand was slow in coming back to the waking world and was seemingly caught in the Land of the Twilight (point in your dreams where you're not exactly awake yet not exactly asleep, you know?). But he did make it back and the first sight he beheld was the sunlight piercing his eyelids. He groaned and rolled over, pulling the cloak higher on himself as he tried to go slip back into the blissful unawareness of sleep.

Maverick was quite suddenly soaked. Shadrak had been up and about and found a river nearby, where he;d filled a container with water and trekked back to the campsite, "Wakey wakey sunshine," Shadrak grinned with pointed sarcasm, "I dunno 'bout you, but I'ma gonna be tracking those beasties, and that will prolly involve this entire area for about a mile or so getting blasted to smithereenies while Mr. beastie and me have a li'l chatchat, eh?" It almost seemed that Shadrak's speech patterns had changed...but how was imperceptable.

Maverick jerked up, gasping and choking, the icy cold water painfully searing his unsuspecting senses. Shadrak," he said, his tone threatening. "You...," suddenly his voice sounded weary. "You're inhuman." He'd heard Shad's speech, but the strange accent was unfortunately lost on him. "How are you going to blow this place up anyway? Last night you were all but dead and now your suddenly ready to take on the world again? Sorry Shad it doesn't work that way."

Re: The Killing Game (continued)
Shadrak grinned and held up the bloodstone, "Bloodstone, I know what it is now, eh." He grinned with a hint of a malicious glint in his eyes, "These babies suck the soul from any living being, it can even suck the life energy from a plant or particularily vibrant painting or such, 'tis a great thing, eh." Then he took a new posture on, one that seemed to throw his face into shadow, "With the expertise and ability, one can use this to suck the life energy from around oneself, and either pull that energy into oneself or expend it in a spell. This," Shadrak held it up to the light and watched the patterns of blood-like substance flowing around in it, "is a part-way charged bloodstone. All those creatures last night? they didn't all escape, the essences of those left behind still reside in the stone, and can be used any way the wielder wishes." He looked down and the shadow was gone from his face, he was smiling, a simple, innocent (for him!) smile. "The cool thing is, anyone can use it, well... most anyone with half a brain, which is what the ability part mostly is. Intrigueing beasties, eh."
