I certainly hope it's intentional evil, but I suppose Martin's moral ambiguity does allow for them to misuderstood rather than evil. Still, despite the fact that we shift perspectives, we begin with the Starks and generally accept them as the "heroes." Even if we don't, our emotional loyalty lies with them since they were the original house pov. So if seen through the limited morality of the Starks, the Others's are evil for various reasons. The most prominent being the threat they pose to the survival of humanity in the north.

Hmmm, my favourite character is a survivor, a person who has taken an incredible pounding and yet emerged if not victorious, at least still breathing. There POV's are eagerly awaited with dread and horror as I wonder if they will continue to evade the lethal traps hurled at them by cruel adversaries.

I like all the Lannisters (yes, all), Roose, Beric... Quite a few others.
I hate all Freys, and all Greyjoys.
I like Garlan, but none of the other Tyrells.
I like Arya, but none of the other Starks.
I could keep going, but I'm overly tired, a little drunk, and really scared, due to one of the most retarded movies I've ever seen. I think I need to sleep.

You know, lately i've been liking Roose Bolton. He is cool. I reached that conclusion in his conversation with Jaime. It was just a hilarious conversation!
