As the name indicates...this RPG will revolve around Crossroads and New Beginnings.CrossroadsWe would like to see characters come to a 'crossroads' in their lives where important and life changing decisions have to be made. These events can be very personal...i.e. a relationship beginning, ending or changing, or they can be moral or spiritual. Whatever is decided, they should show 'growth' for your character.New BeginningsThis can be any number of items as well and most likely will relate back to the 'crossroads' in your character(s)' life or lives and/or career. They may be starting a new career as teacher or student at Xavier's School for the Gifted or may have been selected to train for the upcoming X-Men team(s). Their 'new beginning' once again may be as simple as establishing a new relationship or changes in an old one.

Ben looked at the sandwich in front of him adn quickly picked it up before taking a rather large bite out of it, which he quickly chewed and swallowed. Within a few minutes, the sandwich was no more than some tiny crumbs on a plate. He looked up at Jubilee, "Thank you," he said, "for the sandwich. Could you make me another two just like it, please?"
As Ben waited for Jubilee to make the snadwiches, he thought back, trying to remember the last time anyone was this nice to him, or the last time he actually had a good meal. He realized that it been a long time on both counts, and decided to pay Jubilee's kindness back as best he could think how. "Jubilee," he began, "after this, would you like to go and check out the games in the game room?"

Re: Location: Great Room near Admin OfficesWarning: Minor Drug Referances/Disturbing Referances
X-23 watched patiently as Jonathon began to look through the story of her life. It wasn't pretty...no, not at all. Some of it was so horrific that Karika forced herself to look away and to watch out the window. That did not mean, however, that she was not listening. With a feral's ears, she heard every syllable of what the others were speaking. In fact, it made her rather angry inside to hear them...especially that stupid Mez.
His story about some stupid Hawaiian war made her insides churn. The victims she had slayed came rushing back in vivid detail, causing her stomach to turn and roil with every haunting face. Not only that but he just kept going! He was like the Energizer Bunny on crack, honestly. Putting her hands up to her face, she tried to expunge the thoughts from her mind. It didn't work, he just kept going. Pyro was the only one she actually agreed with at the moment, “Okay, so, no more, thanks,”
A low growl began to emit from deep in her throat. That was a major feral alert, if you were being growled at, that meant get the hell out of dodge or you were about to be cut into bite sized pieces. "Said, QUIET STUIPID!" Karika warned angrily, never letting her eyes leave the window. With her bloodlust and the animal within her body, that was the final warning as well.
For several moments, she breathed in deeply, still growling lightly. Karika was angry; there was no doubt about that. Turning her eyes to the wall, she was shocked again when a girl came right through the wall. This was too much, jumping up on the window seat, her razor sharp claws exploded outwards with two distinct SINKT noises. With her claws extended, her growling more pronounced than ever...Karika was at her most dangerous.
The girl before her seemed nice enough...and, as X-23 sniffed, she had food. "Uh, my name is Kitty. You must be new. You hungry?" Sniffing more, she noted with some disdain that she had no idea what it was...but, from her olfactory training, she could tell it wasn't poison. Processed snack foods weren't a part of Weapon X's special diet...but it looked almost edible. Jumping down, claws still extended she sniffed closer at the white gooey stuff. Looking questioningly at the girl, she took the cup from her, very careful not to hit Kitty with her adamantium claws...yet.
Despite her major freak-out...and still being extremely angry, she went to town with the pudding. With absolutely no table manners present, she licked the pudding cup down until there was not even a drop into the bottom...and then tried eating the plastic cup. After a moment chewing the plastic she spit it out, leaving one large bite mark out of the cup. Looking at Kitty with large, questioning eyes, she pointed at the pudding cup. "More?"
Truth be told, she hadn't eaten since she left. Sure, she picked at some road kill that she had found, but most of it was pretty rank...not at all like the meat they fed her at Weapon X. Luckily for her, she had been trained to go for weeks without food, using only water and salt as a supplement for nutrition. Well she had exceeded that now...and it was very likely a part of the reason she was so angry.
Swallowing the faux vanilla taste once more, she pressed onward. "More, now?" Now was like her please...she didn't understand basic etiquette (as shown by her manners). And now all she had to do was take care of Mez. Turning toward him with her claws extended, she advanced on him, her posture rigid and her eyes ablaze with fury. "No talking." She started and finished with her one and only command. "Now." Tags: Jonathon, Mez, Kitty, Mana, Pyro, etc.

Re: Down the hall from Xavier's Office/Afternoon
Kitty swallowed as she noted the claws, 'Ok don't spook her now.' As the girl grabbed the cup and inhaled it she shifted her eyes towards Chase and then back to the girl.
She frowned as she watched the depletion of the cup, 'Poor thing.' she thought. Soon she was shaken from them when the girl asked for more, "Uh, sure sure. No problem. I'll be right back." she nodded as she turned sharply from the room and just ran through the wall, not even looking back.
Once in the kitchen she gathered up quiet a bit of food into a basket. Oranges, apples, pudding and crackers. "She needs to eat...." she mumbled as her mind went back to what the girl looked like.
"Were those claws?" she shook her head as she tried to remember what the things were coming out of her hands. 'Heh, looks like Mr. Logans got a kid.' she laughed to herself.
Gathering the basket and food, she grabbed a bottle of OJ and water. Then a can of Dr. Pepper, having no idea WHAT the girl liked at all and ran back into the room.
She gently placed the basket on a small table by the girl, "Here you go. Um there is more food then just the pudding you ate. I have some fruit in there too, if you like that."
Shifting the drinks to the table as well, she pointed them out, "I have some water here, and some juice. I also have a soda too. I'm not much of a Dr. Pepper drinker but Mt. Dew, you can have this though, I don't think Blinks gonna mind. I'll get him some more." she grinned as she took a step back so the girl could see the food.

Jonathan, still holding the file, looked up as Karika growled and leaped to her feet. Though threatening in nature, she had not yet made a direct menacing move toward any one person. Kitty's advent with the pudding cup seemed to have slowed the young woman's anger as well as briefly distracted her from her target.
Moving quietly, guarding the file protectively, Jonathan moved toward Mez, Mana, and Pyro. "I think," he spoke, his voice low and authoritative, "that it might be best if the area was cleared until Karika has time to calm herself again. This is not the time or the place for history lessons of any kind. Karika needs dealt with, but with patience, calmness, and kindness, not pontificating on Hawaiian legends...especially ones rife with bloodshed and brutality."
Jonathan paused. He was managing to maintain his temper with great effort. "Please go, I will bring her to Professor Xavier's office when she has eaten and calmed down again. Right now is not the time to try and 'interview' her."
The blond Brit moved himself slowly into Karika's direct line of sight. Again, he raised his dark blue eyes to look in her deep hazel ones directly. Keeping it a gaze of confidence and understanding, not one of challenge, he only held her gaze for a few moments before looking away.
Keeping himself between Karika and her target, he smiled, "Karika, remember what I said earlier. This place is for protection and safety. The people that live here are protected. No matter how annoying they are, you may not harm them."
"I've read your file. I can understand why you are upset. But, please, sit with me again. Tell me rather than risk hurting someone else. I can help you, you may always come to me if you feel your anger is too much for you."
Jonathan paused, "You are safe here. I will always do my best to keep you from harm, but you mustn't harm anyone else on this property either."
By now, Jonathan was between Karika and anyone else and counting on the faint rapport he'd established to help calm her. "More food will be brought. We can eat and stay here for a bit before going to see the Professor. I need for him to see your file, though. Will you allow that?"
Jonathan kept himself ready to move fast if he needed to, but at no point did he flinch or show fear. He also made sure to not show challenge or aggression.TAG: X-23, Mana,
Re: Xavier's Office/Afternoon
Warren could hear bits and pieces of the conversation as he moved away from the great room and down the corridor to Professor Xavier's office. He felt confident that Jonathan Chase could manage things. While he didn't know the man well, he did know that he'd been a significant influence on a number of their more traumatized students.
Reaching Xavier's door, he rapped smartly, before pushing the door slightly open.
"Professor, sir, I need to speak with you. We have a potential new student and if my hearing serves me properly she has some characteristics in common with a feral friend of ours..." Warren waited in the partially open door for Xavier to acknowledge him and offer admittance to his office.
Re: Location: Great Room near Admin Offices
Mez put his shirt back and stared Karika in the eyes. James was witnessing the explosive anger. Deep down somewhere Gabrielle hardly knew how to react to someone like this. The explosive anger of Tanya Trask was all the estrogyn that Mez felt he needed to experience. But now once again, things were taking a turn for the wrong.
James' face turned solid and he face Karika, his hands behind his back, hopefully a sign interpreted for non-fighting. The feral pride in Karika, brought out something Mez had not seen in himself for far too long. The young man started to remember things he shouldn't have. Faces he took away, tried to forget with time, screams he did not want to hear again.
As much as his story had chilled him to the bone, it brought out seemingly worse things in Karika. Mez was short by most male standards but taller then Karika. He looked down at her more literally then symbolically, the people that Mez had feared so much as a child brought worse things upon her. Mez could feel it in his bones. The seething rage that burned in Karika's was walking hand-in-hand with the pain of the past. A feeling Mez tried not to show on his face.
"More?"
Mez kept his body and mind rigidly still, his brain more shocked then his own muscles, he hadn't figured out what to do yet. He had been taught all his life that if you had problem you solve it. But problems with people like the one Karika felt with him, weren't that easy. The problem of her poor table manners reflected such. Still confounded into stone, Mez watched her eat like....Mez stopped his thoughts... he didn't want to call her an animal. She was a person.
And now all she had to do was take care of Mez. Turning toward him with her claws extended, she advanced on him, her posture rigid and her eyes ablaze with fury. "No talking." She started and finished with her one and only command. "Now."
Mez kept his eyes soft, but his body ramrod straight. He was sure he could beat her, but not sure that he could do it without dying or getting someone else killed in the process.
"Don't" Mez said with his soft gaze, one that asked for Karika to stop. Gabrielle remained silent as a cold wind, silent as Karika would be if she decided to strike. The young man, had seen and done too many troubles to people to speak with her. Taking a few steps back Mez stared at Karika still and walked patiently back, finding his spot against wall. Feelings rolled around in Mez's head. He contained his own anger for Karika by moving away, but the way that she was being treated by others here bothered Mez.
Shaking his head and trying to contain the rage that Karika was beggining to stir in him Mez kept to his thoughts, crossing his arms across his chest. Disgust for Karika grew in his belly, and he fought to keep it there, trying as best as he could to keep it from coming out from his lips.
Re: Location: Great Room near Admin Offices
X-23 decided almost immediately she liked this Kitty girl. "Uh, sure sure. No problem. I'll be right back." Karika gasped again as the girl walked right through the wall. She blinked several times, looking at Jonathon to see if he noticed...he seemed to be quiet engrossed in reading her file. By the third time she watched Kitty walk through the wall, she was completely sure that it was NOT her imagination. "Here you go. Um there is more food then just the pudding you ate. I have some fruit in there too, if you like that."I have some water here, and some juice. I also have a soda too. I'm not much of a Dr. Pepper drinker but Mt. Dew, you can have this though, I don't think Blinks gonna mind. I'll get him some more."
Mez on the other hand, pretty much took the hint that she was not emotionally stable. "Don't" He had whispered, causing X-23 to nod just slightly in his direction. By capitulating to her, and not making a showy display out of trying to become the Alpha, he had saved his life. Mez may not have known it, but Karika did. Turning back to Kitty, she watched her in wonderment. What made this girl so bubbly?
Karika cocked her head as the girl rambled on. What was a Blink? Why would she want to go to Mt. Dew, especially right now, and why would ANYONE drink a doctor? These people must be very confused, Karika thought. Noting the water bottle, she picked it up. Water in a bottle was something she was familiar with...but instead of taking the top off, she sliced off the nozzle and drank right from the gaping hole in the plastic.
Jonathon seemed inclined to agree with her about too many bad stories going on. "I think,""that it might be best if the area was cleared until Karika has time to calm herself again. This is not the time or the place for history lessons of any kind. Karika needs dealt with, but with patience, calmness, and kindness, not pontificating on Hawaiian legends...especially ones rife with bloodshed and brutality." Turning ever so slightly to look at him, she noticed with disdain that he was now playing the power game...in fact, he even seemed angry. And although he was not looking at her, she could feel it. Setting the water down, she felt her skin pricking.
"Please go, I will bring her to Professor Xavier's office when she has eaten and calmed down again. Right now is not the time to try and 'interview' her.” What if he was sending them away so he could send her back...and no one could help her? Arching her back, she made an animalistic display that she was the Alpha here...and if he tried to take her back or hurt her, he was going to be in big trouble.
Yet, when she looked at him once more, his gaze had softened. And he knew better than to keep his eyes locked on hers. "Karika, remember what I said earlier. This place is for protection and safety. The people that live here are protected. No matter how annoying they are, you may not harm them." Karika almost felt embarrassed for doubting him...but that was not a feeling she was used to. She was not used to feelings like guilt and sadness...she knew rage, only rage. And rage was what had kept her alive this long.
"I've read your file. I can understand why you are upset. But, please, sit with me again. Tell me rather than risk hurting someone else. I can help you; you may always come to me if you feel your anger is too much for you." "You are safe here. I will always do my best to keep you from harm, but you mustn't harm anyone else on this property either." In response to his tone, her claws carefully retracted into her skin, leaving two angry scars on each hand that slowly but surely began to heal themselves right in front of their eyes. Nodding, she made her greatest effort to show him that she understood...she didn't grasp the words yet, but she did understand.
And what he understood was that while she was desperate for her file to be read, she was also very hungry. "More food will be brought. We can eat and stay here for a bit before going to see the Professor. I need for him to see your file, though. Will you allow that?" "Food." She echoed, pointing to the basket. "First, file." Her sentiments were very clear...that she would deny herself food until she knew what it was that the file entailed.
"Now?" She queried, sitting down at the window seat like a good little feral and putting her hands on the file carefully. "You help?" Her dark, pleading eyes bore into his...it wasn't the animal that was at the surface now, it was the woman-child below the surface. And all Karika wanted was what that file could tell her and someone to help her read it...after that, all she needed was an affirmation of his loyalty and he'd have her.
Re: Location: Great Room near Admin Offices
Really, by now, Mana had completely closed off, vivid images of what Mez had been explaining still playing over in her mind, so, when Karika reacted in a way totally reminiscent of the Wolverine, Mana couldn’t help but let her lips curl into a smile.
~Nice,~ she thought, watching the whole scene, before leaning over to whisper to John that she so needed to be alone right at that moment, opening her mouth to dismiss herself from everyone, “Sorry, Mez, no offence and all, and I don’t like to do this, but I need some time to myself right now. Your description their just brought up some memories and stuff that I need to sort through,” and with that, just before Mez himself walked back around the corner, Mana waved to all of them, her eyes catching X-23’s, a warmth found in them towards the girl, and walked off the way Angel had gone.
She paused briefly at his side, eyes depicting a look of disgust, really not meaning to, but those images had been so darn real. “Ah, yeah, heya Warren, um,” she paused, “I gotta go somewhere with pleasant images,’ she quickly added, walking off pretty fast.
She was seriously freaked, and anyone who knew her well would clearly be able to tell that.
“Ah,” the flame manipulator looked around, impressed by X-23‘s reaction, but a little concerned for Mez, whom he now walked around to try and explain why Mana had just left like that, “Well, yeah, okay, so Mana doesn’t really have the stomach for all that stuff,” he tried to explain, watching his foster sister go. And I can assure you that we would have stopped Karika had she actually decided to use those blades,” John tried to reassure the teenager.
Quote:"Professor, sir, I need to speak with you. We have a potential new student and if my hearing serves me properly she has some characteristics in common with a feral friend of ours..." Warren waited in the partially open door for Xavier to acknowledge him and offer admittance to his office.
Angel’s words were heard by the mentor of the school even as he reached for the door to open it, on his way down to Cerebro. “Oh, good afternoon Warren,” he said, a warm smile lighting up his features.
It was Mana’s sudden appearance that brought his eyes to the young woman’s face, and stopped him from responding to Angel‘s comment about the new student for now.
Quote:She paused briefly at his side, eyes depicting a look of disgust, really not meaning to, but those images had been so darn real. “Ah, yeah, heya Warren, um,” she paused, “I gotta go somewhere with pleasant images,’ she quickly added, walking off pretty fast.
She obviously hadn’t noticed him, and something had her seriously spooked, the man deciding to have a chat with her later about it.
“A new student…” Xavier started, “Yes, I thought I sensed a new presence. I was on my way down to Cerebro, Warren, to check up on the mission progress, however, perhaps I should greet this newcomer now,” he decided, slowly moving his chair further forward and out of the room.

Kitty listened to Chase and then nodded. She was about to leave when the girl bristled, 'Reminds me of a cat.' she thought tilting her head to the side.
"Um Dr. Chase. Not to undermind you or anything, but she seems a tad uncomfortable from what I see. Do you mind if I stay? She seems ok towards me and I'll be safe I think."
"Would that be alright to you? Would you like me to stay? I won't even say a word if you don't want me too." she told the girl.
Kitty? Quiet? Heh right, but if it made a newcommer comfortable, then so be it. But she didn't need to be left alone with a human. If anything happened between them Kitty could have them out of there in less then a second.

Your description their just brought up some memories and stuff that I need to sort through,” and with that, just before Mez himself walked back around the corner,
Feelings of guilt cooled any anger brewing with Mez. He hardly knew anyone hear now was neither the time nor the place for discussing the brutality of the supernatural. Mez bowed his head politely, hoping to apologize for his brashness towards Mana and Pyro.
"I am sorry, I should probably keep such matters of the supernatural to myself." Mez said to both of them before Mana decided that the brutal images were too much for her. Mez glance back at Karika, his eyes filled with both pity and disgust, getting rid of the latter. Mez looked back at Pyro.
And I can assure you that we would have stopped Karika had she actually decided to use those blades,” John tried to reassure the teenager.
Mez smirked at that. He felt he had the confidence to beat Karika in any fight they had, but it probably wouldn't be too easy. "Thanks glad to know somebody doesn't want me dead. I've had a few run-ins with knives before." Mez chuckled. "I do think its kind of unlikely that I would have came out unscathed though, not many times you do." He said with a smirk. Fighting with knives wasn't much to smirk at.
James kept his hands down. "If don't mind my asking, it seems like you've had a few run-ins with blades too, the look on your faces made it seem as if she wasn't the first person to have knives shoot out from her hands...care to enlighten me, obviously I'm pretty fresh around here." Mez said to Pyro.

“My dear child, of course I will help.” Jonathan smiled, blue eyes gentle and direct. He had little to hide and a certain self-confidence that went along with that. Very gently, Jonathan placed his hand on the feral’s where they rested on the file. “You and I will read this together so that you know all that I do. I will hide nothing from you, I have no reason to.” He withdrew his hand, slowly showing that he did not fear her. “I promise…I will make every effort to never betray your trust. There are things beyond my control that I cannot account for. There are also things about myself that I am not ready to share with any living soul yet. When I am, you will be told.”
Jonathan’s voice was calm, gentle, and slightly authoritative. Just enough to emphasize that he had enough status in the pack to keep promises as much as fate and the universe allowed.
Kitty listened to Chase and then nodded. She was about to leave when the girl bristled, 'Reminds me of a cat.' she thought tilting her head to the side.

Jonathan paused as Kitty spoke up. He waited until she finished. “If Karika has no objections, you may remain. However, unless she is willing to share her personal information with you as well, I would ask that you keep a respectful distance so that you do not inadvertently eavesdrop as we read her file.”
He turned his dark blue eyes to Karika. “It is your decision, Karika, on ‘who’ you want to have the information contained your file.”
Jonathan leaned back, relaxing and indicating with a wave of his hand that he would honor her wishes on the subject.Tags: X-23, Kitty
OOC: Forgive me, I’m probably overlooking it, but I did not see where X-23 “bristled” at Kitty’s eminent departure. I worked it in the post though.
Re: Location: Great Room near Admin OfficesOOC: Yeah, I'm sorry. Kitty and Karika can be friends and we can have some fun with that. But right now, this file is very very private. This file is the ONLY thing in her life right now and as a feral little girl...eh, I think I'm keeping it as we had it originally: Jonathon and X-23. But be sure of it, some girl talk will happen soon
Karika was almost overwhelmed with everything going on. Everyone was so...nice...but she didn't trust any of them yet. She was new to the world as they all knew it. Her life had been 'led in captivity'. She was like a zoo animal that doctors and scientists came to poke, point and piss at. It made her scared, it made her angry...but above all it made her smart. She wasn't going to allow anyone here she didn't trust.
And right now, the only person she could really trust was Jonathon. Yes, Mana had been nice to her, Mez, though he didn't know when to shut his mouth and listened to bad music, was fine, Pyro, who seemed fine enough and Kitty who was sweet...they all did not understand her. They didn't understand the ins and outs of her animal nature; they didn't know what was appropriate. Not yet.
So when Kitty spoke, X-23 didn't know what to tell her. "Um Dr. Chase. Not to undermine you or anything, but she seems a tad uncomfortable from what I see. Do you mind if I stay? She seems ok towards me and I'll be safe I think.""Would that be alright to you? Would you like me to stay? I won't even say a word if you don't want me too." Looking to Jonathon for support, he seemed to understand what she was feeling and exactly what she needed.
Looking into his deep blue eyes, she felt no fear. “My dear child, of course I will help.” As Jonathon put his hand on her, she twitched slightly, not liking it when people touched her. At first she went to pull her hands away...but his hands weren't cold like the doctors at Weapon X. It was warm and comforting. “You and I will read this together so that you know all that I do. I will hide nothing from you, I have no reason to.” “I promise…I will make every effort to never betray your trust. There are things beyond my control that I cannot account for. There are also things about myself that I am not ready to share with any living soul yet. When I am, you will be told.” When he withdrew his hand again she felt a feeling she never had before. She couldn't even name it, but it was an almost sad feeling.
Turning her mind back to the sweet girl before them, she looked to Jonathon for guidance. "If Karika has no objections, you may remain. However, unless she is willing to share her personal information with you as well, I would ask that you keep a respectful distance so that you do not inadvertently eavesdrop as we read her file.”“ It is your decision, Karika, on ‘who’ you want to have the information, contained your file.” Gently her little pink tongue wet her lips as she thought.
"No now." She answered, shaking her head no. But if the girl understood, she would know it was not forever. It was too new, she had to know everything before anyone else...it was a scary thing to share her life with people. Too scary for her right now. "No." She repeated, looking down at the file. Putting her tiny, childlike hand (that was now 100% free of scars) on the file, she turned to Jonathon, silently searching for the truth.

Kitty nodded, "Of course. I'm just hear for support is all. I know what it's like to be new. Her history is none of my business unless she wants it to be." she assured Chase.
They were both adults and she regarded Chase highly. Whatever he told her to do she would, well, within reason that is. But Kitty DID have a mind of her own and she spoke it, much to the dismay of SOME of her teachers.
Turning back towards the girl, she smiled and crossed the room, sitting a good ways from the two. If they wanted her closer all they would have to do is ask her.
OOC: I was just going by that there. I would imagine that would be noticable. And Kitty is thinking X-23 isn't comfortable alone with Chase and offered to be with her for support. ::Arching her back, she made an animalistic display that she was the Alpha here...and if he tried to take her back or hurt her, he was going to be in big trouble. ::
Re: Location: Xavier's OfficeShe (Mana) paused briefly at his side, eyes depicting a look of disgust, really not meaning to, but those images had been so darn real. “Ah, yeah, heya Warren, um,” she paused, “I gotta go somewhere with pleasant images,’ she quickly added, walking off pretty fast.
Warren glanced down, concern flickering in his turquoise eyes. His eyes followed her for a moment before returning back to the matters at hand. The most immediate concern was the young woman in the great room that Jonathan Chase was attending to. Perhaps, if time permitted later in the day, he could try to find and speak with Mana. He was almost immediately distracted by the Professor’s answer to his knock at the door and request to talk.
“A new student…” Xavier started, “Yes, I thought I sensed a new presence. I was on my way down to Cerebro, Warren, to check up on the mission progress, however, perhaps I should greet this newcomer now,” he decided, slowly moving his chair further forward and out of the room.
The winged Mutant stepped back to allow professor’s wheelchair egress to the corridor. He stood for a moment, looking undecided, before stepping forward. “Professor…far be it from me to interfere, but I think Dr. Chase has things in hand. The young woman is…skittish…to put it mildly. I’m sure he will bring her in when she is calm enough and he’s learned enough to be of some help.”
Warren paused and waited, hoping the professor would understand and be content to wait until Karika Yashida was brought to them.

Having left the kitchen some time ago, both Amara and China found themselves in a room where they could pretty much be alone. They didn't know where only that it was 'empty'.
"Sometimes, Amara, I wish we never came here?" China said to her friend.
Amara looked at her, eyes wide.
"How's that?"
"Because I feel like I don't belong here. Maybe we should leave?" China replied. But Amara shook her head.
"I don't think we should. After all, we do need to control our abilities."
China's gaze dropped. She had forgotten that. Now how could she have done that.

Quote:Mez smirked at that. He felt he had the confidence to beat Karika in any fight they had, but it probably wouldn't be too easy. "Thanks, glad to know somebody doesn't want me dead. I've had a few run-ins with knives before." Mez chuckled. "I do think its kind of unlikely that I would have came out unscathed though, not many times you do." He said with a smirk. Fighting with knives wasn't much to smirk at.
Pyro frowned. ~Exactly how and when were this guys run-in with knives?~ he asked himself, a little taken aback by the confidence in his voice.
Did he actually think he could beat X-23 in a fight, the girl that, in such a short time, had reminded him so much of the Wolverine it wasn’t funny?
Quote:James kept his hands down. "If don't mind my asking, it seems like you've had a few run-ins with blades too, the look on your faces made it seem as if she wasn't the first person to have knives shoot out from her hands...care to enlighten me, obviously I'm pretty fresh around here." Mez said to Pyro.
The flame manipulator grinned. “Well, the other person around here… you may not want to ever face in a fight, cos he has the bad habit of going into feral ranges, where no form of reasoning can get through to him. Enemy or friend, he can’t tell the difference at those times, so I would advise you not to ever rub him the wrong way,” Pyro told him, the smirk so clear on his face. “His name is Logan, or Wolverine, and he currently isn’t here at the moment, but you are sure to come across him at some point in time.”

Re: Location: Great Room near Admin Offices
Blink ran through the halls as fast as his legs could carry him. He had a laptop grasped in one hand and the other reached up to push his glasses back onto his nose.
After a bit of commotion in the hall, he turned the corner into the other side of the Great Room. Seeing it was occupied he turned to go only to see the person he was looking for.
"Ms. Kitty?" he asked quietly.
Kitty looked up from her magazine and arched a brow at Blink, "Again? Come on take a seat. Lemme see." she pat the seat on the sofa next to her.
Blink nodded and handed her the lap top, "Whos the new girl?"
he nodded in 23's direction.
"Not sure at the moment. Dr. Chase is um talking to her. I'm just here in case SOMETHING happens. She seems a tad edgy and the last thing we need is for a human to be hurt by one of, well, US." she sighed. She felt for Chase, she really did. He didn't SEEM to mind about being around mutants but something made her wonder what he REALLY thought about the whole situation at times.
Blink cleared his throat which made Kitty tear her eyes from Chase, "Oh, yea right. Ok lets see here." she mused as she booted it up.
"Hmm, ok Dos Mode....holy hannah, Blink...what did you do?" she sighed.
"Um..."he started.
"Never mind, got a Phillips?"
"Be right back." he said and bolted from the room. A few moments later he had returned, "Ok now. Lemme see if I can fix this."

Quote:The winged Mutant stepped back to allow professor’s wheelchair egress to the corridor.
Xavier’s gaze went from Dr. Chase, and the young woman with him, back to Angel, nodding slowly, “Perhaps you are right, Warren,” he simply said, pausing to think about whether to proceed to Cerebro, sending the doctor a message to let him know this, or wait for him to bring the newcomer to his office.
“I have lost contact with those on the mission, Warren,” he continued, a short time later, “mostly because Jean is no longer with them. I think it’s time to head down and check in, as I am starting to worry.”
The mentor of the school looked genuinely concerned. Even without the telepathic ‘net’ it wasn’t like the leader of the X-Men not to check in at least once. It led the Professor to surmise they were all either extremely distracted, dealing with confrontations, or they were…
He shook his head, sitting up a little straighter. No way was he going to let the thought of losing one or more of his most trusted friends dwell on his mind for too long.
Background: Many, many years ago, Charles Francis Xavier established Xavier's School for the Gifted. Also, seeing other Mutants misusing and abusing their powers, he created the first generation of the X-Men.This original team was trained and lead by an old friend of his...Logan, aka Wolverine. Logan's co-leader was a young woman and student named Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Once the team was trained and fielded on active missions, they took on the additional responsibility of teaching and helping new Mutants deal with their powers. On one horrible night, the X-Men were fielded to stop a particularly powerful Mutant and his 'gang'. The 'intelligence' received on this Mutant and his cohorts was sketchy and actually turned out to be a set-up to entrap the X-Men and take them captive. In the ensuing melee', 'things' happened and a number of the team were killed outright or severely injured. After making sure his remaining team-mates were going to be okay, Logan left. Xavier has not, to current time, explained his absence or even whether or not he survived.Current Time/Game Time: Almost seven years later, as Human/Mutant incidents are on the rise, Xavier once again sees a need for a Mutant 'police force'. He sees this new X-Men team as a force for good and a way to help peacefully integrate the rapidly emerging Mutant society with the established Human society. To this end, he has contacted Logan and asked him to 'come home' and train his 'new' team.
Logan has reluctantly agreed. Can shadows from their past be put aside for the good of the new X-Men? How will the surviving members of the original team react and what will they do as 'truths' are learned about that disastrous night?Note: We want the new X-Men to include younger versions of the old familiar characters such as Scott, Jean, Beast etc...as well as many of the OCC’s and other Canon characters that are available. Please ask the Staff BEFORE stating or establishing that your character was one of the old, now disbanded, original X-Men.
