As the name indicates...this RPG will revolve around Crossroads and New Beginnings.CrossroadsWe would like to see characters come to a 'crossroads' in their lives where important and life changing decisions have to be made. These events can be very personal...i.e. a relationship beginning, ending or changing, or they can be moral or spiritual. Whatever is decided, they should show 'growth' for your character.New BeginningsThis can be any number of items as well and most likely will relate back to the 'crossroads' in your character(s)' life or lives and/or career. They may be starting a new career as teacher or student at Xavier's School for the Gifted or may have been selected to train for the upcoming X-Men team(s). Their 'new beginning' once again may be as simple as establishing a new relationship or changes in an old one.

Considering that Jean and the young people seemed to have everything handled, Warren furled his great wings, nodded to the assembled group, and said, "It seems things are under control. I'm sure Mez will locate Mana shortly."
He started to continue with a suggestion that someone help the injured young woman off her feet and over to one of the seats in the grand foyer when his cell phone chimed. Excusing himself politely, Warren exited the mansion and walked down to the drive for a bit of privacy.
Warren cleared the call and sighed. This was a bad time but then things of this nature never happened at a 'good time'. He needed to inform the Professor that his presence was required in Manhatten and then abroad to tend to Worthington business. His father had had a heart attack and Warren would be needed to run things during his recovery.
Sighing, he returned inside, stopped and spoke quietly for a moment to Jean before moving on and up the stairs to pack and send an e-mail to Professor Xavier. He was already doing a mental checklist on the legal matters he handled for the school. Most issues could be handled either by his private law firm or by himself even if he were not in residence.
Some time later, with only a few bags packed, and his good-byes said, Warren left the estate, hoping to return soon.
Re: Day Room/Early PM/Iceman, Wolfsbane JPOOC: JP between Thena (Wolfsbane), & Mana (Temporarily playing Iceman). Open Tags.
The room was quiet, even though a TV played in the background. To see the Scottish girl with a book was unusual, but Rahne was flunking her chemistry class. Tucking red hair behind her ear as she chewed on her pen. It had been stressful for the wolf girl lately, breaking up with Piotr after realizing how she and Bobby felt about each other. A frown crossed her face as she tried to concentrate.
Bobby, taking a deep breath every time he past Colossus in the hallways, or was in a class with him, felt really bad. He hadn’t meant to fall for Rahne, and he really hadn’t meant for her to break it off with Piotr. On some level the ice creating mutant was thankful Wolfsbane had spared him the detail of how the big man had reacted.
Technically, they weren’t actually officially an item yet, Bobby was still nervous as hell around her, and didn’t really know what she wanted. Yeah, they’d admitted feelings for each other, had even kissed, but that had been as far as it had gotten, both of them realising it was too soon after breaking up with their other prospective partners, something Bobby was quick to do when he realised how he was feeling, to spare Wave the heartache of being with someone who didn’t love her the way she deserved to be loved.
Rahne scowled at her class work, frustrated beyond all heck. She grabbed her hair and twisted it up against the back of her head, stuffing her pen through it, sighing lightly.
Walking along the hallway, the Iceman was thankful he never came across either Wave or Colossus in his musings, eyes downcast, the guilt a little overwhelming at times. ~But I can’t change how I feel,~ he thought, shuffling his feet in one spot for several seconds before continuing past the Day Room door.
Lifting her head as she caught a whiff of his aftershave, Rahne turned her head to the door. "Bobby?" she called.
Even though he was dealing with the guilt, the sound of her voice brought a smile to his face, stopping and poking the upper half of his body around the door frame, “Oh, didn’t see you, hey Rahne,” he greeted, a look of contentment in his eyes.
A smile immediately took place of the frustrated look on her face. "What are you doing?" she asked him
~Feeling guilty,~ he thought, but said, “Just walking and thinking. You?”
"Chemistry.." she said, watching him for a moment.
He screwed up his face, walking his whole body into the room, “Despite the fact I am good at that subject it’s not one of my favs,” he acknowledged, returning her gaze, “What’s up?”
"Nothing...just failing...both well," she said, closing her book and taking her pen out of her hair, shaking it out.
“Want some help?” he asked, walking closer.
"You aren’t busy?" she asked, a hopeful glint to her eyes.
He shook his head, ~For you I am never busy,~ grinning to himself, “No, just walking and thinking," he repeated, smiling up at her, his blue eyes sparkling with warmth.
Rahne scooted over on the couch, giving him room, opening her book to the right page.
Sitting down next to her, but not too close so as to overcrowd her, the nervous Bobby looked down at the information on the page, beginning with an easy explanation of what it all meant, then asking, “So, where are you having the most trouble?”
"All of it...I hate chemistry....I never get it," she said softly, noticing that he didn’t sit really close.
“Well, that narrows it down a little,” he replied, with a laugh, unwittingly moving closer to turn the page and show her a diagram that should make it clearer for her, at least the stuff she was currently studying anyway.
Garnet hair slid off her shoulders, falling down her arms as she leaned over to look at the diagram, green eyes lighting up slightly with an understanding.
Nudging her gently with his shoulder, he said, “See, it’s not that hard, or bad for that matter, just gets complicated when…” his words trailed off. Okay, so being this close to her was driving him insane in ways he hadn’t felt for a long time, even when with Wave, blue eyes studying her for a few seconds before he leaned in and let his lips touch hers.
Rahne bit her lower lip as he spoke, his words trailing off, her eyes meeting his. Eyes which fluttered shut as she felt his lips take hers, her pen dropping from her fingers.
“I feel guilty, Rahne,” Bobby whispered against her lips, “even though this feels so right,” kissing her gently again, and resting his hand on her neck.
"Don’t...they knew...maybe not just what happened...but both of them knew something just wasn’t right," she said, kissing him back. "I’ve spoken with both…they are all right.."
A sigh left Bobby’s mouth, and he nodded, pulling away a little, but leaving his hand where it was, “Well, that is a bit of a relief,” he told her, blue eyes locked with green, “I am still trying to get over how this all happened,” he added, smiling at her.
Rahne smiled. "I still don’t know, but I’m glad it did.." she said softly.
He nodded, “Yeah, me too,” the Iceman agreed, pulling her close to him, watching the book slide off on to the floor.
Rahne let the book fall, tucking her feet up behind her, curling up against Bobby. "Bobby...I..I.." she shook her head.
Running his hand through red locks, Bobby looked down at her, “What is it, Rahne?” he asked.
"I don’t wanna wait...I wanna be with you," she admitted, her voice in a near whisper.
He reached around his hand to lift her head up so he could look at her, “You already are with me,” he simply said, sincerity in his eyes.
Rahne smiled. "So that’s an offical thing then?" she asked him softly.
He laughed a little, “I don’t kiss a girl like that I don’t intend to be official with,” he quipped, tracing the outline of her face.
"You...Bobby Drake...are a teaser..." Rahne replied lightly, poking him in the chest gently.
He laughed harder, “Only the best will do,” he joked, a small wolf sculpture forming in the palm of his left hand.
Rahne melted. "I’m really wishing that wasn’t going to melt," she said, taking it from his fingers.
“Yeah, me too,” he agreed, placing it in her palm.
Rahne smiled. "Well I’m not made of ice...so I wont melt...so you can keep me."
His eyes lit up, and chuckling, he kissed her again, “Really?” slipping his arms around her tighter.
She giggled, tossing her hair back and wrapping her arms around his neck. "For as long as you want."
“Forever then,” he said, grinning at her, his cheeky look giving off a sense that he was joking.
"Possibly," she said, leaning in and kissing him softly.
Re: Theatre Room/Early PM/ManaOOC: Sorry Mez, I totally missed the tag. The first part is a JP between Thena (Swann), & Mana (Pyro & Mana). Will continue for Pyro and Swann in another JP soon.
She couldn’t believe it...she had fallen asleep out by the lake. Swann had gone off on her own for a little bit to read a book by the water, letting her mind and body reflect in the things to come, and was alone just in case she had a power fluctuation again. She had fallen asleep, for more then a few hours it seemed, now how much the sun had moved. She sat up, picking grass and a twig out of her hair.
If it wasn’t for the special mind link he had with his girl, Pyro would have found himself wondering where in the world Swann was, the flick, click, ignite of his lighter done all the way up the path, a sparkling lake appearing before him, and that feeling she was close getting stronger.
A light smile appeared on the girls lips as she felt her husband drawing near. She knew that there was no need for words...he’d find her no matter where she was. Skye quickly pulled the last of the leaves out of her hair.
“So, ya mind telling me what in the world my baby is doing out here in the open, in the sun, like this?” he asked, walking up behind her, looking at her with one raised eyebrow.
"I came out to read a book after lunch...and...well I just kinda…fell asleep?" She answered him, giving him a sheepish grin.
“You are definitely pregnant,” he quipped, holding out his hand. “C’mon, Babe, lets go back inside.”
"You don’t wanna stay out here...it’s nice.." Swann said, taking his hand and grabbing her book and standing up.
Gripping her hand gently, he shook his head, “Nah, one, I want to get you inside out of the sun, and two, I need to sit and relax somewhere. I think Mana’s doing the same thing, just gotta figure out where and whether we can join her,” he told his wife, pulling her towards him and planting a kiss on her lips.
Swann smiled and kissed him back softly. "Feed me too?" she asked him, grinning as she felt her stomach growl.
Swann smiled and kissed him back softly. "Feed me too?" she asked him, grinning as she felt her stomach growl.
John couldn't help but burst out laughing, not only at how funny that simple question sounded, but how absolutely cute she looked in asking it, "Yeah, sure, you want that in a baby's bottle, or ya happy with being spoon fed?" he asked, winking at her.
Swann snickered at him. "Just for that one..." She said, leaning into his ear and nipping at it for a few moments.
His eyes opened wide, “Hey!” he protested, giving her a cheeky look, ‘Save that for later, Babe.”
Swann laughed at him, letting up lightly on him, her hands resting on his waist. Pulling away from him, her eyes sparkling lightly. "Yeah yeah...put me off now...see when you get some next," she whispered.
“You wouldn’t be able to stay away from me,” he quipped, pulling her gently behind him up the path, “I’m just too hunky and sexy,” those two words over-the-top emphasised.
"If you say so," she answered in a sing song voice.
He just ignored her cheeky comment, reaching the kitchen and grinning. “Ah, there are people in there,” he said, “Mind if we get something from our stash in our apartment?” he asked.
"What’s left in there...I kinda...had a moment last night," the telepath said, a slight blush creeping up her cheeks.
John just rolled his eyes, smirking, “Oh, well, maybe we can raid Mana’s, come on,” he urged, really not wanting to be around anyone other than his wife.
Slipping in step beside him, the couple made their way towards their foster sisters room. Sticking her nose in, Skye grinned. "All clear....lets raid," she said.
**
Almost fifteen minutes later, John led Skye out of Mana’s room, licking his fingers of the chocolate previously consumed by him. “Wow, Mana really knows what best to keep locked away,’ he said, grinning.
*And she also knows to keep her mind link with her brother and sister open,* came the words in his mind, Mana‘s arms crossed over her chest from her position still in the Theatre Room. *What are you to playing at? That’s my food,* she said, her frown portrayed down their link.
Skye started, the sudden communicative reprimand making her jump. Even though she didn’t have to she instinctively hid the spoon in her hand behind her back, sending Mana an image of one of her innocent smiles, and a hug along their mental bond, *I love you…* she grinned.
Mana laughed, *Just as well not even you know where all my stash is,* she said, letting Pyro feel her annoyance at the same time, the teen holding up his hands, *I didn’t do it, she made me,* laughing so hard his sides hurt.
*I DID NOT...I merely ate all we had in our room…he mentioned yours,* Skye said, mentally, Mana seeing the nasty look she shot her husband.
*I wouldn’t have had to mention it if you hadn’t eaten so much last night,* he teased, preparing to run for it.
*Hey, you two, come on, my movie is playing without me. You are both interrupting one of the best scenes of Serenity,* Mana told them both.
Skye looked at John with hurt in her eyes. "You can watch it without me...I’m gonna go workout or something in the gym," she said softly, moving away from her family.
And there it was, the feeling from his foster sister, as she felt the change in Skye’s emotions, the feeling that meant he wasn’t going anywhere until he apologised for his quips, and realised in her current state, Skye would be prone to take it to heart.
So, John let his mind wander into his wife’s, showing her something he cared never to share with anyone else… the love he felt for Swann in a way that would make it so clear to her that he had only been joking and he was sorry for hurting her.
He had chosen the wrong moment to tease his pregnant wife. She closed her mind down and continued down the hall, walking to their shared room and slamming the door roughly. A moment later, she opened it again, tossed a pillow and blanket out and slammed it again.
Without replying to Mana, Pyro walked straight down after his wife. Ignoring the pillow and blanket, he leaned up against the door, “Swann, Baby, I’m sorry,” he said, knowing that that probably wouldn’t be enough, but he stayed where he was, thankful when Mana made no attempt to say anything more via the link. She knew this was between the two of them only.
Quote:"Excuse Me Mana, you remember Stace right?" Mez asked, it was a stupid question. "She's got some mean damage to her feet that she got on the way up here. Kevin told me you were a healer, and she needs some help pretty bad." Mez told Mana.
Brown eyes turned to look at the man, a little startled as she hadn’t heard him come in. Heck, she wouldn’t have heard anyone come in over the loud movie she was watching unless they had made more noise than the characters on the screen. Besides, she was still thinking about what had happened before in the mental talk with her family.
“Oh, ah, okay,” she said, “And yes, I am a healer. Lead the way,” she told him, getting up, “But hang on, I’ll just stop the movie, don’t want to waste power while I’m not here, don’t want to miss anything either,” she suddenly found herself feeling guilty, “Oh geesh, okay, that just sounded like the movie was more important than Stacey, sorry, come on, quick,” and with that, she actually began to hurry out of the room.
Sometimes she said things without even thinking, a sure way to offend someone, only hoping she hadn’t offended anyone this time.

She knew this was between the two of them only.
She didn’t respond to him and the door wasn’t locked. However, the young woman had been stricken with a nasty wave of morning sickness and had rushed into the private bathroom.
After several minutes, Pyro couldn’t handle it any longer, trying the door, and feeling relieved when he found it wasn’t locked. “Swann?” he asked, walking in. Looking around, his ears alerted him to the bathroom. Walking over, John said through the door, “Baby, I’m sorry. I really am. I just don’t know when joking is not a good thing.”
The only sound heard was the flush of a toilet and then water running as she brushed her teeth. "It’s fine," she said softly through the door, spitting toothpaste into the sink.
Walking in, Pyro moved to gently encircle her in his arms.
Swann let him hold her, resting her head on his shoulder for a moment with a soft sigh. She didnt speak, just closed her eyes.
"I really wish I could take away these emotional turmoils you go through," he whispered, running his hand through the locks of her red hair, "And I always seem to pick the wrong moments," he sighed, kissing the top of her head.
It was at these times that John really hated himself, because it reminded him of a time long ago when he used to do this to anyone and everyone. The only difference was, now he actually cared how his actions affected others.
Sighing softly, closing her eyes and just feeling him there for the moment. "Yeah, but if you took what I go through…your head would explode...you can’t deal with feeling me and Mana at times...imagine if it were everyone all the time.." Swann said, looking up at him and giving him a light smile. "I still love you...even when you’re an inconsiderate pain in my arse," leaning up, she kissed him softly.
“Yeah,” he agreed, nodding, “I deserve a lot more than that bit of name calling. Sorry, Babe, but I really can pick the times to joke around, can’t I?” he chuckled, “Forgive me?”
Swann scrunched up her face, pretending to think. "I don’t know...kiss me and remind me why I should."
So he did, dipping her and leaning down to touch her lips with his, “How’s that?” he asked, holding her tightly.
"ACK! FORGIVEN!" she yelped, knowing that he wouldn’t drop he.
He grinned, “Man, I am so good,” he quipped, bringing her up against his chest, kissing her again. “So, you wanna do something, or do you need to rest?”
“I know what I wanna do.." she said, a sly grin dancing on her lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Then I shall lie down with you,” he answered, grinning, and slowly carrying her back to the bed, knowing full well the meaning behind her words were not that she was the least bit tired.
Re: Day Room/Early PM/Iceman, Wolfsbane JP
Proteus sat and he heard Rahne's accent. It brought him back to Scotland. Without meaning too, he began to speak to Stacy in Scottish. There was no train to the speach, no logic, just the sounds of the lilt, of the rise and fall of the Scottish language. Proteus guessed that Stacy had never heard anyone speak in Scottish before, so it really didn't matter what he said as long as he kept on talking.
Proteus spoke of many things after hearing Rahne's voice. He spoke of his family, of one of his mother's who had taught one of his halves the Scottish language. That was Kevin's story, than Lucas told one of his, using Kevin's mastery of the Scottish tongue. The words flowed together in a single cohesive stream without a real beginning or end. They just continued. Anything to take Stacy's mind off the pain.
Proteus stood up quickly once he saw Mana. Proteus bowed to Mez, a gesture of thanks. It would be a while before Proteus would be able to speak the Scottish language again. This resbite to speak what he considered his first language was welcome.

Rawiri had been wandering without purpose. There was harldy ever a purpose to the Maori's wanderings. The way he looked at it, purpose was over rated. It was the things that one saw along the journey that mattered. He had finally gotten over the time change, it had been a long series of days that had blended together. He felt better now that he could distinguish Yesterday from Today.
Rawiri smirked to himself as he remembered a joke he had heard earlier. It was easier to find stand up comedy in the United States. True, New Zealand had comics, but the Americans it seemed were a nation of comics. Sometimes he just laughed aloud without meaning too. That got him almost as many looks as the Moko.
Rawiri walked into the common room and without meaning too, bumped into Mez. Rawiri did not know what he had wandered into, but he could tell it was relatively serious. "Sorry about that mate," Rawiri appologized, smiling broadly, making the tattos which covered his face shift. It could be disconcerting, looking at what many had dupped marks of war become contorted with such a bright smile. It was as if Rawiri's dispostion completely negated the sinister energy of the Moko.
Re: Theatre Room/Early PM/Mana, Morpheus,
OOC: Everyone please forgive me I am still readjusting to my old timezone so catching up on all the posts may take some time.
Thanks

Mez was quite amazed by the size of this place. Mez turned to the side and led Mana. "She's just in the foyer" He told here. Gabrielle understood the concern to save energy, didn't no why she had to talk about it though, Mez thought. But he was never going to hound someone for thinking outloud. Something he did more then once. "You know I swear I saw this place on cribs" Mez said rather jokingly as walk with some haste down the hall.
Proteus bowed to Mez, a gesture of thanks. It would be a while before Proteus would be able to speak the Scottish language again. This resbite to speak what he considered his first language was welcome.
Mez nodded at Kevin. Mez had heard some people speaking in Gaelic. Mez felt happy that there was a plethora of lanuage speakers here. But he found it doubtful that he would meet someone who spoke Amharic or Hawaiian. James found it kind of comforting that there was someone who he could at least relate music too. It was those thoughts that distracted Mez from bumping into Rawiri.

Mez backed up a pace or two and looked at Rawiri like a friend he had never met before. **"No problem"** Mez said in the Maori that he knew. James was more then surprised to see a Maori here at Xavier's but wasn't one to question good luck. Mez always admired the Maori and their tatoo designs, which reminded him so much of his own people.
Re: Theatre Room/Early PM/Mana, Morpheus,
Rawiri looked pleasantly surprised. Very few non-Maori spoke the language of his people. True, there was a current revival of Maori culture in New Zealand and it was beginning to be taught in some schools, but it was not an easy language to learn. There were few who were really willing to take time to learn the Maori language as there were only at most something like 160,000 speakers of the language on the planet.
"Who taught Maori?" Rawiri responded with a broad smile on his face, "I am going to hazard a guess and say that you are not from New Zealand. Perhaps you are from one of the Polynesian Islands?" Rawiri used the Maori name from the country of his birth. The Maori name, Aotearoa, literally meant "The Land of the Long White Cloud" which was a reference to when the Maori people first came to New Zealand some 1000 years ago.
"Forgive me. Kia Ora, I'm Rawiri," Rawiri said in English, interjecting the traditional Maori welcome. It was both to Mez and the room in general.
Re: Day Room/Early PM/Iceman, Wolfsbane JP
Stacy was just so greatful that Mez wasn't going to try and touch her feet anymore. This wasn't 'Pedicure' day or something, was it? This lavish house looked like it had something like that. To a small town girl who, in four years, had seen nothing but the inside of her room and possibly a drugstore (when she was all out of birth control)...this place was like nothing she could even comprehend.
And everyone around was so...sophistocated. Mez had...well, he was a Hawiian wonder who probably had more stories than she wanted to hear. And, as he left with promises to find Mana, Kevin began to give her another taste of culture. The old Gaelic words he spoke were beautiful to her, and she smiled. "I don' know wha' yer sayin' love, but even if yer talkin' dirty to me...it sounds really good." Okay, so it was a lame attempt at a joke...but right now, that was the best he was getting out of her.
As much as Stace tried to hide it, she was in pain. Breathing deeply, she shut her eyes for a brief moment. "I hope tha' boy hurries...cause' I don' know how much longer I can stay standin'." Her knees were weak as it was...and it was starting to look very bleak for Stacy making an entrance with her pride fully intact...

Mana frowned, not quite understanding what the reference meant, her feet carrying her down the hall, down a small set of stairs and on towards the foyer.

If Stacey had been able to focus through her pain, she would have noticed the young woman she had met briefly earlier, walk in behind Mez, Mana’s eyes widening at the sudden overwhelming feeling of someone injured in the immediate area.
“Hey,” she said, walking directly to her, “I’m here,” kneeling down to inspect the girl’s feet. They were swollen, and Mana felt a phantom aching in her own feet, knowing soon that pain would be very real. “Just don’t move,” she added, closing her eyes for a brief couple seconds. Her skin started to glow with purple energy, passing into Stacy, Mana’s eyes also completely the same colour, opening them only to make sure the healing was…
And then she felt the pain in her own feet, gritting her teeth, thankful her weight was on her knees and upper thighs.
“It shouldn’t take too long,” Mana managed, eyes now portraying the same pain Stacey’s had been, “to heal, that is,” and with that, Mana put her hands on the floor in front of her, waiting for her regen ability to kick in.
Re: Day Room/Early PM/Iceman, Wolfsbane JP
Kevin nodded polietly to the new comer. He would have to make all due introductions later. Kevin positioned himself near Stacy again as Mana arrived. He thanked whatever power he could name for her relatively swift arrival. Kevin wasn't exactly religous.
"I don' know wha' yer sayin' love, but even if yer talkin' dirty to me...it sounds really good."
Proteus had the good grace to flush and chuckle slightly at the comment. He decided not to make any comment about what he said. He only itched the back of his head slightly and looked down at the ground. "Well, anything to pass the time right?" He said, managing a weak grin.
Proteus watched in silent awe as Mana began her work. He knew only by reputation that she was a healer. Proteus had never seen her use her power before. He was dumbstruck by the calm way in which Mana managed her power. Proteus' own power was not so easy to use, and was never as peaceful as Mana made it seem. He envied Mana, for having such a practical gift.
Re: Theatre Room/Early PM/Alisa, Marina, Morpheus, Mana
Stacy X felt like her chest was going to explode from the sheer pressure. She was holding her breath without even realizing it...it was no wonder she was so dizzy. Even though she was not completely lucid, she saw Mana come up beside her.“Hey,” “I’m here,” "Hey..."Stacy answered, trying to keep her voice level.
Instead, it sounded like she was speaking while someone compressed her wind pipe. Specks of stars began to float around her head...on god, she was just about gone. “Just don’t move,” Easier said than done. With all the strength in her body, Stacy focused on keeping herself in an upright position. Suddenly, the stars began to glow purple and her body felt...warm. But not a bad, I've just run 300 miles, sort of warm but a safe feeling. And after another few moments, she realized that her feet no longer hurt...
And that Mana was grimacing in pain. Stacy swore out loud and dropped to her knees to look into Mana's eyes. “It shouldn’t take too long,”“to heal, that is,” "Aw shit Mana, I didn' wan' ya to hurt th' way I did!" She bit out, worry and anger tinging her voice. "I was tha' stupid one who wore heels ta' go runnin'" Sighing, she shook her head. "I'm sorry, I wouldn' a' let ya heal me if I knew tha' you'd be takin' the pain." Closing her eyes, she ran her fingers through her dark hair. "But thank ya'...I owe ya one. An' believe me, I'll expect to help ya out sometime. Whether ya wan' me to or not."
Smiling, she made it very clear that Mana had made a new friend...whether she wanted to or not. Stacy trusted Mana, and owed her a debt. An eye for eye...or in this case, a foot for a foot. Looking up, she smirked at Kevin and Mez. "An' ya boys...well, ya ain' half bad."

He really wanted to chat with another Pacific Islander but other things ushered him in another direction. Mez was born on Hawaii and still was always a local-boy at heart. He was feeling more at home already. ~Now we need a luau and we'll be kickin',~ Mez thought, eager to have food in his belly Hawaiian style.
Mez walked in to hear Stacy say something. Mez didn't really know what it was. Kevin probably was speaking Gaelic. Mez had never heard the language before in his life, but it was good that there were people who still kept the ancient tongue of their people alive. Apparently it had something to do with different languages. Mez cracked a small smirk, and spoke in Hawaiian. **"You know I never really understood what it was with women and guys who speak different languages,"** the way the young man spoke made it sound as if he didn't have a problem. **"But...I probably know as much about women now as the day that I learned I had an interest in them,"** Mez finished in Hawaiian shrugging his shoulders. "Ah well who cares anyway," He spoke in English. Most of the lanugages Mez knew probably weren't very popular. Hawaiian wasn't very popular from outside the island chain much like Maori. But it had never been endangered, despite the few people that actually spoke. James was proud of the fact he actually was one of the few people fluent with it.
Mez took a few steps back and stood back as Mana did what she did best. It looked like she could actually feel the injury. Not in the physical sense but psychologically. No wonder the story of Nu'uanu Pali scared her. She probably felt every blow as if she had taken it herself.
Amazing....Mez thought, what people can do. Mana showed the meaning of her name (Power) with the energy that flowed from here as she healed Stacy.
Guilt....Stacy was feeling guilty. Perhaps she wasn't as hard as she lead everyone to believe. Mana's gift wasn't without its price. But at least the injury wasn't that bad.
Looking up, she smirked at Kevin and Mez. "An' ya boys...well, ya ain' half bad."
"I can die a happy young man," Mez said jokingly with his arms folded across his chests. ~What was Stace's comeback now?~ Mez wondered.
Re: Theatre Room/Early PM/Mana/Stacy/Mez/ProteusOOC: Mez, Stacy (when ya get back, Marina), Proteus, etc.
Her eyes were closed again, and her attention was on healing Stacy and then herself, so she didn’t notice the envious look on Proteus’ face.
Quote:"Aw shit Mana, I didn' wan' ya to hurt th' way I did!" She bit out, worry and anger tinging her voice.
Mana lifted her hand in a “Don’t worry about it,” gesture, nodding her thanks at her offer to help her out one day. “Although I will never hold you to it, thanks,” she said, opening her eyes again as the pain in her feet subsided to a dull ache, her natural healing abilities kicking in, “Also, ah, my healing comes with something some may see as not a good thing,” Mana went on, just after she addressed the boys, and received Mez‘s answer, “You see, when I heal an Empathic link opens between me and the other person… means I can talk to you via ya mind, know when you are in need of assistant, and just generally know where you are at all times. It can be closed off, though, so, yeah, you want it left open or closed?” she asked, hoping she would opt for the first option. She did like being able to help whenever they needed it, the connection to others she held dear to her heart.
Quote:"I can die a happy young man," Mez said jokingly with his arms folded across his chests. ~What was Stace's comeback now?~ Mez wondered.
Mana chuckled, looking up at him, “Hah, very funny,” she said, “Tell me, why do we keep running into each other?”
~And who in the world is the Maori guy?~ she thought, ~He looks pretty cool.~

Mana chuckled, looking up at him, “Hah, very funny,” she said, “Tell me, why do we keep running into each other?”
Growing up as a child Mez had something to say to just about anything or wise-crack even in the face of certain defeat. It was always that way with Mez hardly ever willing to admit a loss.
Mez couldn't help but crack a smirk, his grin widening a little more as he spoke. "My father said that bein' a smart-ass is never good for the health..." He said to Mana. "Bein' that I am a trash-talker, I generally like to keep someone who can...alleviate my suffering" He said. Mez was honest with that one. There was no way he could say anything else, his mouth had gotten him in trouble more then just a few times. But he felt compelled to enjoy some old memories.

Re: Theatre Room/Early PM/Mana/Stacy/Mez/Proteus
Proteus just blushed slightly more when Stacy made her comment about boys. "Glad to be of service," he muttered quickly and retreated. He was socially awkward in group situations, he had little idea of what to say and what might be expected of him. He was good with person to person interaction, it was something he had honed living with his mother. Groups much larger than three persons made him feel a bit nervous. He wasn't agoraphobic, just uneasy in crowds.
He stepped back slightly, trying to find a chair to sit in. He found one in the corner of the room and moved to it quickly. He sat down and tried not to look at the scene which he felt would unfold. He did not want to be involved in this any more than he had too. He had already thought of several excuses as to how he could leave the room. The excuse that came to his mind the easiest was to cal his mother, Moira that was and let her know all was well. It had been awhile since he had called her and it would be a viable excuse.
---
Rawiri moved forward, inward, trying to make himself visable. He listened, it was something the Maori culture had taught him to do. The Maori language had many long words, so any given part of a conversation was listening. It came natural to him. He chuckled slightly as Mez and Mana interacted. It would make for an interesting back story, this current interaction, he would have to ask around for it.
"You see, when I heal an Empathic link opens between me and the other person… means I can talk to you via ya mind, know when you are in need of assistant, and just generally know where you are at all times. It can be closed off, though, so, yeah, you want it left open or closed?”
"At least your power is somewhat practical, the way I look at it, the majority of us here have powers that are of little to no use in the real world, whatever the hell that is." Rawiri commented non-chalantly. It was true. He didn't know what the powers of the others were, save Mana. His own gift however, had very few applications. Rawiri's also wasn't what he had dubbed 'a flash power', a power that looked cool. He had learned to live with it though.

It was clear to Mez that even though Proteus felt comfortable in having one-on-one coversations, too many people made Kevin a little bit anxious. Either that or he just really wanted to be by himself. Mez wouldn't knock him for it. Sometimes you just needed your own space, at first he felt like trying to get him over into the coversation but he continued on anyway.
"At least your power is somewhat practical, the way I look at it, the majority of us here have powers that are of little to no use in the real world, whatever the hell that is."
The Maori was back. Mez thought in his mind, he had spent some time in the background listening, Mez caught him out the corner of his eye but he didn't really register it with his mind.
"We wouldn't be who if our powers didn't have some use." Mez said. Rawiri did make a good-point, some powers mostly ones that dealt with surges in power were the ones that were hard to use in a crowd. But Mez was a self-dubbed Hydrokinetic, his ability to mold, shape and remake water was something he found ironic, being that he was born on the shores of Pacific ocean. Even his own powers, could be dangerous when misused, something Mez had found out the hard-way. Having nearly killed himself with his own power by increasing the strength of the waves. So violent were the rolling waves of thunder and foam pounded him and several others against the coral rock.
"But even those powers that have 'real-world application' are dangerous when you misue them. It doesn't matter what your power is, there is always a way, you can use it, you just have to find it." Mez said, trying to make his own point.

Kiwi Black just shrugged. The conversation didn't really apply to him, until recently, he didn't know that he was a mutant. He had just assumed that most people entered a zeroed in state at times. He had guessed as much from his friends that played rugby. Really depended what the power was and how well it could be controlled.
"But even those powers that have 'real-world application' are dangerous when you misue them. It doesn't matter what your power is, there is always a way, you can use it, you just have to find it."
"Don't know about that. Personally, I didn't know I was a mutant until a little while ago. Heck, I mean to some extent isn't every human a mutant because of small things that might go wrong on a chromesome?" Rawiri asked, shrugging his broad shoulders. It was more of a philosophical question than an arguement. Most Kiwis were a pretty laid back bunch, so they made no big deal about that which the rest of the world percieved as abnormal. True, there were a few in New Zealand who were viamentally anti-something or other, but for the most part, New Zealanders were fairly centrists. Only thing that got most Kiwis in an arguement was sport.
"Oh, sorry there, I didn't catch your name, I'm Rawiri," he said extending his hand toward Mana, smiling broadly. The Moko which covered Rawiri's face shifted and changed, assuming a different quality as the Maori smiled. It was not an unpleasant thing, it was just different.

Proteus watched the Maori shrug. He seemed to be less weighed down than most of the people Proteus had met. The Maori was almost Kevin's polar opposite, definately more of a Lucas type. Proteus overheard some of the conversation and couldn't help but smile. His own gift lacked any practical application as far as he saw it. True it had kept part of him alive, but was such a state of half existence really any better than death?
"But even those powers that have 'real-world application' are dangerous when you misue them. It doesn't matter what your power is, there is always a way, you can use it, you just have to find it."
That made Proteus think harder on Moira. She had been the one to convince Lucas' family that Lucas' physical body should go to the Xavier Institute. Technically speaking, the physical body was the only one here without an active X-Gene. Proteus was puzzled about why he was allowed to stay. His gift was really not that usable. After Kevin had merged with Lucas and created Proteus in so doing, Kevin had perhaps been into two other bodies besides the host body. Both times manifestation of his power had been forced upon him. Kevin was a mutant with a power that he would not use.

She heard him but chose not to voice the answer to his words now running around in her mind, ~Yeah, but they would still be used the wrong way by the wrong people, and I would still be hated despite how ’practical’ my powers may be,~ putting her head down into her hands, her feet almost completely healed, merely feeling the repercussions of healing someone so soon after all those others she had earlier in the day.

Looking up, she actually used the Maori’s hand to get herself back to her feet, before shaking it and saying, “Yeah, hey, nice to meet you, I’m Mana,” her eyes watching the changing of the tattoos on his face, “Man, that’s different,” she said, not meaning to say it out loud, noting that Proteus had stepped back from them a bit. ~Hope he’s okay,~ she thought, wanting to leave the group herself, not one for being around a heap of people for a long period of time, especially if they were ones she didn’t know very well.

"Not many of my people choose to wear these premanently any more, I will most likely be one of the few you meet who wears these markings all the time. They are the Moko, in ancient times they were symbols of rank and status among my people. In this day and age however, they are a symbol of my heritage," Rawiri explained. His right hand traveled to his face and traced one of the spirals there, flawlessly. He knew his Moko almost out of memory. He did not know as of yet all of the Moko on his face, but a great majority of them were commited to his mind's eye. Like the Maori of old, Rawiri was determined to use his Moko as a symbol of his identity.
"It was painful enough to recieve the Moko with a needle, I do not wish to imagine what it was like in the old days," Rawiri commented. The old way of tattooing was not practiced openly among the Maori. There were rumors here and there of those that practiced the Moko in the old way, but they were few and far between. Rawiri had a mild aversion to needles, so it was a feat of endurance that he had recieved the Moko at all. So many of them though, only added to the prestiege of the trail.
Re: Foyer/Mana/Tags: Rawiri, Morpheus, etc
Stacy had to admit, she felt like a new woman. Not only were her feet feeling better, but her whole body felt reenergized. That Mana was an excellent healer, and Stacy really felt connected to her. Mez, on the other hand, was asking for it. "I can die a happy young man," "Don' take it too personal babe, I make lotsa guys die happy." It wasn't that Mez was a bad person...but it was very obvious that Stacy was jaded against guys in particular.
Mana was helping her get through even the bitterness as she spoke to Stacy. “Don’t worry about it,”“Although I will never hold you to it, thanks,” “Also, ah, my healing comes with something some may see as not a good thing” No Stacy certainly wouldn't forget, but she was suddenly worried about what Mana was saying. "What do ya mean somethin' tha' ain't a good thing?" What could it possibly be? Was she going to grow six heads? Was she going to die three years earlier? Was she knocked up?
,”“You see, when I heal an Empathic link opens between me and the other person… means I can talk to you via ya mind, know when you are in need of assistant, and just generally know where you are at all times. It can be closed off, though, so, yeah, you want it left open or closed? "Oh, tha' it?" She asked, wondering why Mana made it sound so terrible. "Well, don' bother me none...but I jus' worry about you. I dunno if ya wanna know wha's in my head or where I am at all times." Stacy smirked. "It ain' always pretty." She warned.
Standing up carefully, she was immediately angered once more. "My father said that bein' a smart-ass is never good for the health...""Bein' that I am a trash-talker, I generally like to keep someone who can...alleviate my suffering" "You shut yer mouth." She snapped. "Ya ain' even seen trash. Yer father was right, yer a smart ass." What gave him the right to start talking about the hard life? He had a father. A father who at least made it through his birth and stuck around. The only way Stacy knew that she wasn't dropped out of the sky was the fact that her birth certificate was legally written as: mother and father unknown.
Stacy noted another man had joined them...he was almost as strange looking as her with his native tatoos. "At least your power is somewhat practical, the way I look at it, the majority of us here have powers that are of little to no use in the real world, whatever the hell that is." "I 'gree wit' tha' one." She said, shaking her head. "Lucky me, I got powers tha' make a big mess, literally." Mez seemed to get this too "But even those powers that have 'real-world application' are dangerous when you misue them. It doesn't matter what your power is, there is always a way, you can use it, you just have to find it."
Stacy just shook her head and chuckled. Hormone powers used to control bodily functions...misuse was funnier than dangerous. But she was mutated, and she had the potential. "Don't know about that. Personally, I didn't know I was a mutant until a little while ago. Heck, I mean to some extent isn't every human a mutant because of small things that might go wrong on a chromesome?" "Sometimes it's more than one." She looked away from the group to where Kevin was sitting.
She moved toward him, and leaned against the wall. "Ya got a problem or do ya jus' hate people?"
Background: Many, many years ago, Charles Francis Xavier established Xavier's School for the Gifted. Also, seeing other Mutants misusing and abusing their powers, he created the first generation of the X-Men.This original team was trained and lead by an old friend of his...Logan, aka Wolverine. Logan's co-leader was a young woman and student named Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Once the team was trained and fielded on active missions, they took on the additional responsibility of teaching and helping new Mutants deal with their powers. On one horrible night, the X-Men were fielded to stop a particularly powerful Mutant and his 'gang'. The 'intelligence' received on this Mutant and his cohorts was sketchy and actually turned out to be a set-up to entrap the X-Men and take them captive. In the ensuing melee', 'things' happened and a number of the team were killed outright or severely injured. After making sure his remaining team-mates were going to be okay, Logan left. Xavier has not, to current time, explained his absence or even whether or not he survived.Current Time/Game Time: Almost seven years later, as Human/Mutant incidents are on the rise, Xavier once again sees a need for a Mutant 'police force'. He sees this new X-Men team as a force for good and a way to help peacefully integrate the rapidly emerging Mutant society with the established Human society. To this end, he has contacted Logan and asked him to 'come home' and train his 'new' team.
Logan has reluctantly agreed. Can shadows from their past be put aside for the good of the new X-Men? How will the surviving members of the original team react and what will they do as 'truths' are learned about that disastrous night?Note: We want the new X-Men to include younger versions of the old familiar characters such as Scott, Jean, Beast etc...as well as many of the OCC’s and other Canon characters that are available. Please ask the Staff BEFORE stating or establishing that your character was one of the old, now disbanded, original X-Men.
