"It's simply wonderful to see that Charles is still teaching his students such impeccable manners, don't you think?"

Rawiri listened to Mez explain that he wasn't a student. Rawiri wasn't really a "student" either. Rawiri was spending his term abroad here, but it wasn't he didn't consider himself a student of Xavier's. The only person in the immediate room who could call himself a student was the quiet lad who seemed to sink further and further into darkness and shadow. Rawiri honestly didn't understand the silent boy.

"Emma Frost..."

"Rawiri Zhang," he said, extending his own hand. He took Emma's and then on an impulse he bowed his head and kissed the White Queen's hand. Rawiri had a feeling that it was the correct thing to do to this woman. Her voice had a feeling of power that Rawiri couldn't shake. This was a woman who was used to getting her own way.

Everything in Emma's posture spoke of her power. Perhaps the quiet lad had been intimidated by this visable sort of power. Rawiri's immediate thoughts were to his family, this woman was similair to his grandmother he imagined. His grandmother was supposed to have been a woman of great prestiege among the Maori people who had fought tirelessly to perserve the Maori culture. The same sort of prestiege and power flowed from Emma. The Maoir word for that sort of energy was Mana, which Emma seemed to have in abundance

---

Kevin synchronized his thoughts with Lucas after he had felt Emma's telepathic brush. There were few telepaths that Kevin knew that would or could read two minds similtaneously. It was a unique mental defense, the ability to have such cognative dissonence, caused by a genuinly split personality.

[We are Proteus, and we do not appreciate your attempt to read our mind,] Kevin and Lucas thought similtaneously. There was a third personality they could use if they needed to. The joint personality which was niether Kevin nor Lucas but a bit of both. This third personality was difficult to maintian when both Kevin and Lucas were active, but it had been done on several occasions for various reasons.

Emma found herself touched by the Rawiri's guesture of respect and welcome, her icy exterior metling a little in the face of this fierce looking man's action. She slipped her hand out of his, and allowed herself the first genuine smile since entering the mansion. "Why thank you, Mr Zhang," she said, feeling for moment that she should curtsey, the thought amusing her inwardly. A nice thought perhaps but she would never curtsey for anyone, especially not someone the same age as the students she had come to teach. She demanded respect of them, and in return they would get the best she had to offer. At least she seemd to be sensing some form of respect for her off each of the people in the room. She was off to a good start at least.

Quote:
" I can be quite certain that manners are very important here. I am but a guest here, madam. I thank you just the same" He said with a simple smile.-
Emma was slightly bemused by his response, obviously he had not picked up the sarcasm in her tone...or maybe he had. She considered this fact, perhaps there was more to him than met the eye, or a quick telepathic scan of his surface emotions. Interesting. " I suppose I won't have the pleasure of teaching you then," she commented as she watched her driver carry her luggage up the stairs towards her old room.

Her thoughts were cut off by a mental voice sepaking;

Quote:
[We are Proteus, and we do not appreciate your attempt to read our mind,]
Emma crossed her arms over the chest and looked the boy straight in the eye "And I am Emma Frost, utterly charmed to meet you darlings. How interesting you are, you must let me have a talk with you. I find your mutant power most fascinating" she replied with her mind, shielding everything else off save a small channel that allowed her to speak to them.

~Exactly what do you believe our mutations are Ms. Frost?~ Proteus thought similataneously. Kevin had lived with Moira McTaggert, if there was a woman who had more poise and more self control, Kevin was hard pressed to find it. The eyes of the body locked straight onto Emma's eyes and calmly blinked in a regular fashion, but altogether did not waver much.

Lucas' body might have been physically shorter than average but it had all the baring that Kevin had learned as the grandson of Scottish nobility. It conveyed the traditions of ages long since dead and in the dust. Kevin thought in Gaelic and Lucas thought in English. They thought of different aspects of the highlands which were the shared homes of the ancestors. He was a true son of the Pict people who had fought so long and tirelessly for their freedom. Lucas' eyes locked on Emma's. He was not affraid.

---

Rawiri stepped back and jusg gave a big grin. The tattoos on his face did not seem to match his sunny disposition. Sometimes the moko were worthy of the fear which they seemed to inspire in non-Maori. However that was seldom the case with Rawiri. He enjoyed laughing too much to ever truly be a "war Maori" as the term was dubbed.

Rawiri stepped next to Mez and shot the other man a glance. Rawiri shrugged gently. He looked between the mute lad and Emma. Rawiri then looked at Mez again. "Do you have any idea what his power is?" Rawiri asked of Mez in a low voice. Rawiri was truly curious. He guessed the mute lad was some form of psychic or something.

At first Mez couldn't be sure if she was being sarcastic again. But he decided to phase that out and forget it. Mez found it hard to stop his smile from becoming a bit more devilish. He felt like saying another one of his quick-witted jokes but Emma didn't really look like the kind of person to like that kind of thing. Least not on first meeting. Mez wondered why Emma had a huge bodyguard. But as he thought about he didn't really think that she needed a bodyguard, maybe he was just for show. "You

The young man watched intentively. He could see that Proteus put a little more steel in his spine and straightened up proud like. He knew such a move all too well. To Mez Proteus was bolstering his defense physically as much as mentally. His straight face and almost stern expression got James worried. "That's a fighter's look if I ever seen one," Mez said to himself in his mind. There was obviously a conversation or something going on that Mez wasn't privvy too, which got him to be a little bit disturbed. He hadn't known Proteus for only a short while but Mez still felt that he was hiding even more then that.

"I don't know," Mez said in a voice quiet enough so that only Rawiri could hear him. He couldn't begin to speculate someone else's power, he hardly felt he had mastered even his own. But whatever it was the growing concentration on Proteus' face caused hair on the back of his neck to stand up.

"Uh, I believe your driver will adequately take care of your things, if you'd like we can all go and get something to eat." He said. James was doing more to avoid a psychic showdown of somekind rather than for food. Mez looked around and found Jubilee and Ben standing together. Ben still recovering from a hard-jab. "Wassup, Jubes?" He said, he didn't really feel he needed to be too formal with her. He didn't know who she was with, but hey, what did it matter.

Emma smiled inwardly at the defensive young men. "Nothing much yet. I believe that somehow there are two psyches in one body, but neither is dominant and neither are fighting for control. Which I found very odd, but equally very interesting." She remained unobtrusively at the edge of his mind, not wanting to intrude or frighten the boy. "You need not be frightened of me boy, or try to fight me. I am a teacher above all and I will never hurt you. If you want help with putting up stronger mental blocks than you already have, come to me. There is much I can teach you, if you wish me to," she concluded before retreating from his mind.

With an expert flick of her hand, she sent her hair cascading over her shoulder as she turned back to Rawiri and the other young man. He suggested food, though the intention behind it seemed something other than hunger. She focused fully on him now, turning her blue-eyed gaze on him, "I never inquired about your name before," she pointed out. "Food would be wonderful, I'm rather hungry now. And, he is around so I don't break a nail carrying too many bags," she said, cutting her eyes towards the figure of Joseph, her driver as he came down the stairs.

She winked at the young man as she said this before turning to Joseph, "Darling, you can be off now. I'll call you if you need anything more," she told him, kissing him elegantly on both cheeks. "Off you trot now." She watched him leave through the front door before turning back to the others. A young man and woman had now entered the room and were making her way towards them. "Emma Frost," she said as way of introduction.

OOC: Jonathan played WITH PERMISSION! :D

With food in her stomach and the OK from the Boss man to stay, Karika was in a better mood than she had ever been in before. Bouncing around like a playful kitty, she followed as Jonathan started walking down the hall. The chicken she ate was long digested and, though she was hungry, she said nothing. Karika was too excited to eat! She got to stay here, with Jonathon, and be safe! If she had the verbal capability, X-23 would've sung a happy song.

Instead, she moved beside him as he made his wait into an office. It read 'Administrative Assistant Office', but Karika wasn't worried. "Be careful, Karika." Jonathan said in a gentle voice; he would not want her to bump any of the expensive equiptment in here or topple bookshelves on herself. Karika nodded, pulling her arms close to her sides as Jonathan hunched over the computer.

Suddenly a high pictched sound screamed to life, and Karika hit the deck. "Loud!" She yelled, covering her ears. Jonathan looked over at her, "Don't worry, Karika, it's only a printer. It won't hurt you." Never before in her life had Karika seen a printer. Slowly, she sat up, watching in awe as paper began to amass in the tray...a room list. Standing once more, she touched the paper. It was real! Real paper had come out of this wierd plastic and metal box. "Printer!" Karika answered and watched as Jonathan picked up the papers.

They picked up the room list and then Jonathan suggest they get some food and go out onto the patio. A faint smile traced her face. "Outside food." Karika bounded ahead following the scent of food into the kitchen. Periodically, she looked back to make sure Jonathan was with her. Stepping into the kitchen, she went to the fridge and opened it. "Chicken!" She said, pulling out the rest of the chicken from dinner. Jonathon went about wrapping the chicken up and filling himself a cup of hot tea with lemon.

Karika got a large bottle of water and started toward the patio again. Following her nose served her well and before she knew it, they were outside on a lovely patio with sturdy tables and chairs with an umbrella to shade their eyes. Outside in the fresh air...Karika was in her element once more.

Mez wasn't really paying too much attention, he found himself more then slightly transfixed by her gaze, mentally squaring himself away he finally gave his name. "My name is Mezeker, but call me 'Mez', everyone I know does," he said. Mez wanted to give his full name but it confused a lot of people and having four names made a lot of people think of him as odd. "Alright well thats one," he said. "Any other takers?" he asked.

James wondered how she didn't know his name, surely she had the power to read his mind like a book, or something of that nature. Then again, she probably was very polite about it, he wouldn't be okay with the idea of her reading his mind whenever she felt like it. Whatever the reason, Mez was grateful for it.

"Hey, Mez. It's going pretty good. What about you?"

As Emma went on towards the kitchen, Jubilee looked at the two guys.

"I wonder why she's here... she doesn't look like a teacher."

"Food sounds great," Rawiri said. He was hungry, he hadn't eaten in what seemed like forever. Not that he could cook mind you, Rawiri's success in the kitchen was limited. He attributed it to the fact he had a lack of a fire pit in which to conduct a traditional Maori meal, but the truth of the matter was that Rawiri just wasn't a good cook.

"I'd offer to cook, but I don't think that you'd like burnt bangers and mash," Rawiri said, slipping in a New Zealand expression. He laughed slightly at himself. He was just trying to lighten the mood. Bangers and mash was essential susage and mashed potatoes and in all honesty had to be served at a pub to be any good. His mother had been fond of Bangers and Mash, but she was not very good at cooking them. Truth be told, Rawiri had a mild aversion to the substance.

---

Proteus just bowed to Emma. It said many things, that he was willing to learn. It was a gesture of respect but nothing more. It implied that Proteus would respect Emma, but would by no extention like her as a person. Respect is sometimes better than kindness.

"I'll cook, I promise I won't make Haggis," Proteus voiced. The joke about the Scottish was that they enjoyed their haggis far too much. Proteus in either one of his bodies had never liked the stuff. He had favored less traditional foods his mother had prepared and teached him to cook. Growing up with Moira meant you learned to cook early. Proteus wasn't a professional chef by any extension, but he was not an amateur either. Proteus could actually make decent bread, it was a hobby of his.

"Ain't no problem here." Mez said pointing to himself. He'd eat burnt food, right now, food was food, as long as it wasn't spoiled or sitting on the floor for several hours everything was good with Mez. "We might have to have ourselves a cook-off." He said smiling. "Today's the first time in 3 years I've had a chance to actually make my own meals. I've been eatin' nothin' but MRE's for the past 6 months." He said. "I'd the kitchen sink sooner then look at it." He said with a half-smile, talking about food only made him hungrier.

"I'll cook, I promise I won't make Haggis," Proteus voiced. The joke about the Scottish was that they enjoyed their haggis far too much.

"Sounds like I got myself a challenge." He said lookin' at Proteus. "Soul Food versus Scotch cookin'." He said, "Can I get an "amen" to that?" He said lookin' at everybody's faces, his smile bright. Without further delay he walked off to the kitchen.

Emma was making her way into the kitchen, gratified by the bow the young man had given her, it was a starting point anyway. She over heard the girl who had recently entered the hallway speaking to the others.

Quote:
"I wonder why she's here... she doesn't look like a teacher."
"On the contrary darling, I am what every teacher should look like, don't you think?" she asked, looking over her shoulder at the others with a smile. "And I am here to teach you delightful lot in business, ethics and possibly some other classes," she informed them all as she breezed the rest of the way into the kitchen.

Listening to the decidedly unappatising list of meals on offer from the students, she turned to them with a suggestion. "At the risk of sounding ungrateful and utterly narrow minded, how about we scrap the foods of New Zealand and Scotland for a little Italian Bistro I know not far from here. I'm sure I could persuade them to deliver a few meals to us. My treat?" she offered as she sat down elegantly on one of the chairs, crossing one leg over the other.

"I'm all for that," Rawiri said. He didn't know if the other individuals could cook. To be honest, he didn't really want to find out either. He didn't mean to be insulting, but the oldest "student" in the mansion was probably no more than twenty years old, and very few twenty year olds knew how to cook correctly.

Rawiri looked around, trying to gauge the reactions of others before he said anything else. He didn't mean to offend, he just wanted to get out of the mansion. He hadn't seen much of the area around the mansion in his time here so this would be as much of a learning experience as anything else.

---

"Italian sounds good," Proteus said, changing directions suddenly. He hadn't been out to eat recently as he was basically broke. He didn't mind it, but it was a hinderance on many social activities. Lucas' mother sent some pocket money every now and then, but Moira on the other hand was a big believer on saving every penny she could for Kevin's university fees.

Proteus walked away from the kitchen and towards Rawiri. Lucas' body was dwarfed by the Maori. Proteus just nodded polietly and Rawiri returned the gesture. Nothing more passed between them. Silence hung in the air for a moment.

Mez wasn't one for arguing. But he still would've appreciated making his own food. He enjoyed that the fact that home-made meals always had a better taste to them. Again, he couldn't really argue.

"I'm all for that,"

The young man listened and it seemed that democracy was once again in action. There wasn't much resisting, it appeared unanimous. "Going Dutch is fine with me" Mez said.

Having exhausted all they could do for the moment, Force and Magma glanced at each other.

"You up for leaving this room?' Magma asked.

"I'm game, if you are," Force answered. Magma nodded as the two girls left, just walking the mansion. They pretty much knew their way around this part though the other areas were still beyond them.

Sounds coming from another room made the two look at each other in question. They both wondered who else was here now.

Since they had arrived, things were busy. Then they toned down and was busy...again.

"Let's check it out." Magma said. Force only nodded.

The two girls entered the kitchen, for the second time to see new people. Froce hung back shyly, not knowing who they were or what they were doing here.

But Magma strode forward with a jaunty,

"Hi All!"

Emma nodded to Rawiri and Proteus as they agreed with her. She pulled out her mobile phone and flipped it open, dialling in the number of the restaurant. She spent a few minutes convincing the manager to pack up the food and bring it to the Mansion. She couldn't quite bring herself to offer him a look down her cleavage, but of course the little gimp did that anyway.

"Darling, look, I'm a valued customer and I am offering to pay you double. Now deliver this food before I send the bulldozer's around." she snapped finally, listening to the man's response. "Thank you dear, I'll see you in ten minutes then". She snapped the phone and dropped it back in her hand bag. "Loathsome little cretin, but he does have such a beautiful restaurant with the most gorgeous food and wine." she said sighing.

"Anyway, where is everyone else?" she asked the question which had been at the back of her mind since arriving. She couldn't seem to feel the presence of many people in the mansion, when usually it was teeming. Perhaps Charles had set up new mind blocks. As she spoke two girls entered the room, one shy and hanging back the other bursting forward. Emma watched her girl idly before introducing herself. "Emma Frost, and who might you be?" she asked raising a perfectly shaped eyebrow.

Mez listened to Emma's conversation, he figured a beautiful woman would get good service. Seems Emma was having a bit of a hard time. He couldn't help but crack a small smirk when his back was turned. He reached into the cabinets, and gathered all the necessary utensils. "So hard to find good service these days huh?" He asked Emma.

He set the plates for the group present including the two girls who had just arrived. Mez remembered he had met them earlier. "How's it going" He said to the both of them. Setting the table, he looked up at them. "We're bout to get something to eat, you two hungry?" He asked them. "Ms. Frost here, has got some sweet Italian food on the way." He said with a smile, enjoyin the thought of fine food.

Emma cut her gaze across to give Mez a cool look. "You have no idea" she said rolling her eyes and pulling a magazine from her bag. Setting it out flat on the table she began leafing through the pages, keeping on part of her mind on the conversation that was going on around her. If she was to interact properly with her students then she needed to collect as much information as possible about them.

Turning another page, she spoke again to the girls that had entered without looking up from the magazine pages. "By all means join in. I ordered quite a lot of 'sweet Italian food'" she informed then as she watched Mez setting the table out of the corner of her eye. Definitely an interesting young man, they all were really, it excited her to think of the challenge that lay a head.

Other tags for everyone else too. Just Emma mainly.

Home. Oh sweet all day. He was finally home, muttering something about never again letting himself be talked into going on a mission he knew next to nothing about, and agreeing to lead a team he knew next to… nothing… about too, as he left the Danger Room, red-on-black eyes glinting with relief as the familiar metal walls closed in around him.

Some had come back ahead of him, some in his team were still to come through, the Southerner thinking he should probably wait for LaTrina and her mother, however, he decided to leave them in someone else’s capable hands, he’d already done more than enough on this mission.

The lift ride to the ground floor was more fun than he ever remembered it being, simply because he was glad to be back on familiar territory; familiar ground, where surprise attacks, and unseen enemies were not about to jump out at him anytime soon.

Lift doors opening with a classic elevator ‘ping’ the Cajun stepped from the small room, and glanced around, where was everyone? Of course, the voices from the kitchen soon reached his ears, making Remy smile, “I shoulda been knowin’,“ he commented, referring to the fact the kitchen was one of the hots spots in the mansion for mutant get togethers.

“Dere bett’r be enuff f’r dis ‘ere ‘ungry an’ tir’d…“ his breath literally caught in his chest at the sight of the blond goddess standing there looking at a magazine, a seemingly cool expression on her face. This time his eyes took on a whole new kind of glint, and ignoring every single other person in the room, including the strangers he had yet to meet, the Cajun walked straight over to the White Queen, gently took her by the waste into his arms so she was facing him, and said, “I don’ b'lieve we be meetin’ yet, mah Cheri. Tell dis ‘ere ol’ Cajun, wh’re yo’ been all mah life?”

RAOFL. Classic Remy… now let’s see if he doesn’t get his brain fried for that one. *GRINS*

Re: Kitchen/Emma Frost/Tags: Gambit
Emma was reaching the end of her magazine when she picked up the presence of another person in the Mansion, and they were heading this way. She looked up at the kitchen door a few moments before a extremely handsome man entered, and stopped mid sentence when his eyes rested on her. That's more like it Emma thought as she went back to her magazine, a hungry smile gracing full lips.

Suddenly strong hands slipped around her waist and she found herself looking up into the black and red eyes of the Cajun. She almost smiled again as she thought of the wicked things she could do to him for this. Really not the way to handle the White Queen, even though he is insanely handsome.

She moved in a little closer towards him until her face was inches from his. Slowly she raised her finger and placed it on his lip "Shhh, don't talk darling, please that accent truly offends my ears and I can't understand a word you're saying." She moved even closer so that their hips were pressed together and spoke again "Now kindly remove your hands, otherwise you will spend the rest of your days convinced that you are a forty something housewife, obsessed with Elton John and his works. Sexually I mean" she added, smirking. Such a shame she couldn't just kiss him, but she had standards to maintain. And it wasn't proper in front of the children, she conceded.
