Re: Olympia: Engineering/Gambit/Tags: Chamber, etc
Ororo heard the commotion and turned just in time to avoid Sabertooths swipe. She had been sitting on her haunches and she fell back and quickly got to her feet. With her powers of no use, she was not strong enough in hand to hand to fight this guy off, but there was no way on the Earth she was going to leave Scott behind the way he was.

'I must get out of here. There must be something in this room that disables my abilites, but I can not leave him here at his mercy.' she thought.

Reaching to the back side of her jeans she pulled out a hunting knife, hey she use to be a thief, and she KNEW how to use it.

Re: Olympia: Whale/Crow/Tags Gyrich (possibly)
Crow let out a sigh of relief as Magneto disappeared into the pod, apparently to preoccupied with the others to notice the lone girl on his ship. As much fun as it would have been to confront him, Crow really liked all her limbs the way they were. She couldn't admit she was disappointed to have the master of magnetism out of the picture for the moment.

As she watched the X-men on board the Olympia--they were doing an amazing amount of damage, for supposedly wanting peace--a thump from across the 'Whale drew her attention sideways. Nearly unconsciously, Crow's ears shot up into doglike tips, flicking back and forth find the source of the noise.

Her attention was soon rewarded as a familiar form came into view below her. The man from the lighthouse--she now knew him as Henry P. Gyrich--was moving around the hull, obviously looking for something...

Gyrich moved closer to the tower, and he suddenly disappeared under the ledge of the flying bridge. Crow muttered an uncomplimentary comment about SHIELD before stalking to the edge of the bridge to watch him further. She managed to catch a glimpse of him in the shadow of the tower before he walked to the other side.

She glared ineffectually at the hull for a moment before stepping back from the ledge. Staying up here trying to watch Gyrich really wasn't working. There was only one way to go, she realized. And falling really wasn't her thing. Taking a few light steps forward, she sprang neatly off the bridge. Letting herself fall for a moment, she spread a pair of black wings against the rush of air.

She landed on the hull, her connection with the metal creating a quiet tap. Walking around the tower, Crow carefully scuffed a single shoe, making just enough noise to alert Gyrich to her presence. Although startling him would have been amusing, she didn't know exactly how nervy he was, and getting shot wasn't high on her list of things to do. Instead she stood a safe distance from him, arms crossed, leaning on one leg...waiting.

As Wolverine's charge knocked the commando away, Cyclops felt the dampening effect on his power recede. And, when Sabretooth landed among them a moment later, snarling and slashing, he was very glad it had. Though, knowing the sheer destructive capacity of his power, he'd never used it against a living being, he also knew this particular being had suffered no apparent damage from being blasted through the liner's hull by Chamber.

Then the callous mauling of the commando and the swipe at Storm banished any further reluctance. He braced himself against the hand supporting him, drawing strength from the contact. The crimson slit in his visor blazed and the matching flare of his power lashed out again, narrower this time, aimed directly and solely at the feral mutant looming above them.

OOC: Scott's not using his absolute full power, but he's not holding back much. Sorry, Wolvie. Know you called dibs, but he was trying to hurt the lady. ;)

Re: Olympia: Engineering/Logan/Tagged by Sabes
Sabretooth moved forward, and at the same moment the Wolverine’s body collided with the soldier’s, the mutant cat leapt, gripped the back of what was left of the Wolverine’s shirt, and yanked him back behind him, the momentum hopefully slamming him into the opposite wall.

Then, to spite the man he hated so much, he went for the white haired woman; the one with the weather controlling powers, at the same time stabbing the remaining soldier through with claws sharpened for that very purpose.

No sooner than Wolverine's body slammed the commando away from Cyke's position, his forward momentum was abruptly halted as someone snagged the remnants of his tattered shirt. His breath was forced from his lungs with a loud growl of surprise as he was suddenly jerked backward.

He came to another painfully abrupt halt as he flew through the air out of control, slamming head first into a nearby wall.
The velocity in which he hit the wall caused him to nearly black out. Sure, his skull was virtually unbreakable but his brain being slammed around inside that unbreakable skull took a concussive impact. He slid to the floor in a blackened daze, but still trying to focus his senses to identify the activity in the room.

His nose picked up the scent of blood and knew someone took a major hit; his sense of smell also picked up the scent of his old enemy, strong and close by; his ears picked up a slight gasp of surprise from Storm and then the sound and blurred flash of red, indicating that Cyke was still in the game. The stench of burned fur and flesh told him that Summers had hit his mark and he half grinned, letting out a moan as he stirred on the floor trying to get to his feet.

Using the wall for support, Wolverine regained unsteady feet and blinked as his vision began to clear. His head was throbbing but the pain was receding rather quickly as his healing factor took care of the concussion he'd suffered.

"Make the call, Cyke!" he yelled out, wanting a run down in the form of active orders to give himself a clearer picture of what was going on... just in case things didn't clear as quickly as he hoped they would. "Storm?! You alright, darlin'?"

Holding onto the wall, he shook his head trying to clear it as his senses tried to pinpoint Creed's position.

Storm sheathed the knife as Sabertooth was taken care of, "Yes, I'm alright. Scott isn't so lucky I'm afraid. He needs medical attention."

"You ok?" she asked as she stuck the knife back in her jeans, "Scott can you walk? We need to get out of here." she said as she reached down to help him to his feet.

Hearing her question he smiled a bit, not really sure if it was a humorous one or a wry one. "You know me, darlin'... if I'm livin', I'm fightin'."

He pushed off the wall and staggered back in her direction, still trying to blink away the fuzzy vision. "How bad?" he asked, referring to Scott's condition.

"I'm all right," Cyclops said, though he accepted the help up with a murmur of gratitude and a not-quite-stifled grunt of pain. "Sabretooth's somewhere amidship and the SHIELD team's down," he called to Wolverine. "I think Evo's pinned under this, though. Rest of us got out with Gambit." To Storm, he added, "Please, check on the soldiers." An unspoken 'be careful' was in his voice.

Turning to Andreas, he said, "Watch for the big guy with the claws. Shout if you see him, okay?"

A step brought a wince but not much swaying. Reassured that he would be able to stand on his own, he made his way as quickly as he could toward the commando Sabretooth had clawed. Even from steps away he could see the uneven rise and fall of the man's chest and hear the bubbling of each breath. ~"Mana, Nightcrawler,"~ he sent via both link and radio, before proximity neutralized the former, ~"we need a medic in Engineering, right away."~

Dropping to his knees beside him, Scott found that though ballistic ceramic plate had shielded the wounded commando's heart, the attack had broken at least three ribs and punctured a lung along with opening several bone-deep gashes. He couldn't see the wounded man's eyes behind the nightvision lenses, but the swing that came looping at his head bespoke both consciousness and fear. Blood loss and shock had stolen the blow's strength and speed and Cyclops caught it with ease, pinning first that hand and then the other as he spoke.

"Easy," he said, as gently as he could. "We won't hurt you."

OOC: Sorry I posted at the same time Scott did, I'm redoing mine.

Storm nodded as she helped to steady the man, "Alright." she said as she approached one of the men. It was the one that Sabertooth had tore into.

"Nothing. There is no breath in this one." she frowned as she got up and watched as Scott checked on another one. Looking the soldier over she saw why. Sabertooths claws had literally ripped into the mans stomach and chest.

She removed her jacket and placed it over the mans face, "How are the others?" she asked.

Evan may have gotten pinned, but he was still conscoious and fighting to get out. Thus, as Scott mentioned Evo being pinned, a rapid, familiar cracking sound could be heard by the sharper-eared fo the group in Engineering, and the debris and such pinning him began to rise now that the commandos were farther than a few feet from the young mutant. In moments, the shape Evan called Crunch stood and piced up[ his shell, moving it further from the commandos and the place he had been pinned before stepping up to it and slowly falling once more into the normal form Evan had been seen in before. "Well, that went well. What do you say we get out of here before more goes wrong?" he commented, pointing with a wry grin at Sabertooth and Wolverine's last known location.

Gyrich was in the process of extracting a small stick of C-4 from one of his multitudinous pockets when a faint sound he'd taken for a bird landing earlier turned into a soft footstep. Rolling the explosive between his fingers to begin shaping it while his other hand drifted to the butt of his gun, he flicked a look in that direction.

Well, he thought, raising an eyebrow at the sight of the teener from the lighthouse. Among all the people and things he might conconceivably have expected to see, she wasn't high on the list. On the list of people and things he wanted to see, she was even lower. On the other hand, she was still in the nuisance category.

"Sorry, kid," he said, fishing a fuse from another pocket. "Too busy to play just now. Go find a frisbee or something and come back later."

Re: Whale/Outher Hull/ Crow/ Tag G
Crow sighed and dipped her head, the essence of a clinically depressed teenager. The dark wings—she had kept them on for show only, but now they were actually useful---drooped visibly, feathers fluffed. ”No Frisbee? Now that’s just terrible. But- Crow took a few steps closer, to eye the hatch over his shoulder.

”-Locks are fun,” she continued, seemingly oblivious to Gyrich’s efforts to rid himself of her. ”And explosives. I like explosives.” Crow fell silent for a blessed moment as her toy continued to form the C-4. It really pained her to see someone using such extreme measures on such a simple lock. ”Now,” she told him pointedly, all traces of gloominess gone, ”I can think of three other ways of opening that up, all of them less likely to be noticed.” The statement was followed a second later by a derisive snort. ”Really, I though you had better training than that.”

Re: Whale/Outher Hull/ Crow/ Tag C
Gyrich ignored most of the kid's yammering. While C-4 was extremely stable, when working with high explosives, it was generally a good idea to keep one's mind on the task. Rolling the plastique into a thin tube with a small knob in the center, he pressed it into the narrow gap between the hatch and the frame, right at the lock. Then he inserted the fuse into the knob.

"If they don't know I'm here by now," he said without turning, "they're total incompetents. Handy for me, but not something I rely on."

Plus, blowing the hatch meant it couldn't be locked behind him. It would making the craft diving considerably more difficult, too, but he saw no reason to share his strategy.

"You might want to move back a bit," Gyrich said, palming a small remote detonator. "About 40 yards should do it."

Oh, that was just getting irritating, Remy thought, red-on-black eyes moving away from the med beds, complete with experimentation equipment, towards the back of the room, to the ringing/buzzing sound coming from the dead henchmen’s side.

Moving over, kneeling down, the Cajun grabbed the communication device, examining its contents, the many buttons very familiar, the fact it was a Video phone bringing back many a memory to the man’s mind.

He said nothing after pressing the Talk button, and putting it to his ear, the angry voice on the other end bringing a mixture of anger, fear, hatred, swirling up into Gambit’s emotional core.

The voice demanded to know what was going on? Were the reports on the television true? Were the X-Men involved? What was being done to assure the two experiments were kept under their control?

~So,~ Remy thought, ~Felicia an’ Andreas be a par’ o’ dis to’,~ there was a look of complete and utter understanding in his eyes; a look that suggested he knew all to well what it felt like to be under the control, forced or volunteer, of the man on the other end of the phone.

“Answer me!”

“I woul’ bu’ I be guessin’ yo’ no’ be likin’ wha’ I be sayin’,” Remy responded, calm, yet emotionally torn; angry, yet afraid; a mess, yet totally together.

“Who is… Gambit?”

“Oiu, Mon’…” he paused, never for once in his life ever wanting to call this man his friend, “mon ennemi,” he quickly corrected himself.

OOC: mon ennemi = my enemy.

Chamber, Rogue, Scarlet Witch, I leave it up to any of you to discover the flashing words on the computer screen; to actually try and figure out what they mean, as Remy is currently completely distracted by the possibility of who is behind all this.

Re: Olympia/Sabes/Tags: Wolverine
Impact. No breath. Intense pain. Fatigue before that. Something wrong with his powers. Now they were back, strengthening him even as he slammed into a wall already made weak by Cyclops previous power usage.

Once again landing in a separate room, Sabes’ keen hearing picked up on snippets of what was happening back where he used to be, his battered body fighting to stay conscious, his first instinct to let darkness envelope him knocked back by the sheer will to get up and attack his main target.

Who cared about anything else? This time he would be a little more careful… a plan had to be made to lure the Wolverine away from his mutant friends; to ensure it was just the two ferals locked in a battle to the death once again.

A smile spread across the wounded cat’s face, a growl gathering and let out.

To the Wolverine it would be heard; to the warrior within it would be recognised as a challenge Sabretooth knew Logan could not resist.

“Come get me, runt!” Creed hissed, the wound from Scott’s blast already merely a small red circle in the middle of his chest.

Re: Whale: Outer Hull/Gyrich/Tag: Crow
OOC: a slight twinking of God modding on the Whale. Shout if you don't like it.

As Gyrich and Crow argued, the flippant teen drew closer to the hatch, an errant hand brushing against a contact plate to the doorway's immediate right. With a pop-whooosh, the hatch depressed into the conning tower before disappearing behind recessed rails, a slight suction pulling her partially inside by a few inches. Inside, a metal ladder led up to a small opening with a similar hatch to one side, while the journey downwards led to a recessed floor hatch.

// The side hatch topside leads to the flying bridge, while the floor hatch is embedded in the airlock ceiling. Further investigation of the hatches will reveal that while the contact plates will operate them, only Crow can make it function. Not trying to keep the Jonah's Whale in pristine condition, but it was designed by Magneto after all...

// This also prevents the U.S. government from claiming legal salvage rights to the craft, since Crow was the first one to gain access. :-)

Re: Whale/Outher Hull/ Crow/ Tag G
((lol, fine by me.))

To say the least, Crow was slightly startled to have the hatch open for her. She flapped her wings against the suction, keeping herself from slipping any further. On her last flap, they stayed open for a moment before disappearing back into her shoulder blades. Shooting the hatch a puzzled look carefully hidden from Gyrich, Miri took the moment to compose herself. I was expecting that, of course, planned it all along…yeah…

“See?” she scolded, turning back to the large man, “That really isn’t necessary.” Crow stepped aside, falling into her best imitation of a doorman. Showing any kind of surprise at the admittance of the hatch would have given her away...and that wasn’t too high on her list, somehow. Besides, it was more interesting to have him wonder. “After you, Mr. Gyrich.”

Re: Whale/Outher Hull/ Gyrich/ Tag C
Gyrich knelt briefly to scoop up the C-4, balancing it idly on his palm for a moment before moving over to apply it to one of the hatch's hinges. He shook his head sadly as he did so. 'Unnecessary.' Big = Slow = Stupid sucked them in almost every time. Being underestimated was one of his greatest gifts.

"You've been part of the crew of this vessel, then?" He asked. The question was deceptively casual. It would explain her presence and, as the craft had been involved in piracy on the high seas, would give him all sorts of latitude in dealing with her.

"Oh, and I'd still advise moving back." He flipped a switch on the detonator. "You have five seconds."

Re: Olympia-Secret Room/Gambit/
(Just a quick note on the Jonah's Whale layout since I see it is potentially confusing. The airlock will open to the hanger, and the communication from the hanger to the lounge is through the turbolift - it has front and rear facing doors, both of which will open automatically when you enter the lift so you can just walk on through. The storage closet on the starboard side contains environmental suits of various types and support equipment.

The four rescue pods on the port side will have been launched. Curiously, there is a full replacement set stacked up against the forward wall. The two shuttles will be parked on the forward hanger deck, and the cargo lift on the back deck. You would have to decend to C deck and take the stairs back up to reach the back hanger deck by the way)

With a little shrug, Chamber had been 'staring' at the console in wonder at the strange flashing words on the computer screen. He had no idea what it was. But maybe, if he kept staring at it long enough, he would discover what iw was.

Then again...

His head looked up to where Gambit was, listening/talking on the communication device. He wondered who it was that was on the other end but didn't do anything. Whoever it was, Gambit seemed to have everything well in hand.

He went back to staring at the flashing words, frowning from within the covering about his face.

Scarlet Witch:

Scarlet Witch had been gazing at the funny flashing words on the computer screen before she moved off. Her eyes, every so often, followed Gambit's movements wondering what he was up to. When he went over to the communication device and picked it up, her brows narrowed

Who is he talking to?

Slowly, as if not interested, she moved over to see better.

Karina:

Karina didn't want to intrude on anyway and so stayed back but her eyes were staring from Gambit to Chamber and back.
