As the name indicates...this RPG will revolve around Crossroads and New Beginnings.CrossroadsWe would like to see characters come to a 'crossroads' in their lives where important and life changing decisions have to be made. These events can be very personal...i.e. a relationship beginning, ending or changing, or they can be moral or spiritual. Whatever is decided, they should show 'growth' for your character.New BeginningsThis can be any number of items as well and most likely will relate back to the 'crossroads' in your character(s)' life or lives and/or career. They may be starting a new career as teacher or student at Xavier's School for the Gifted or may have been selected to train for the upcoming X-Men team(s). Their 'new beginning' once again may be as simple as establishing a new relationship or changes in an old one.

Evo looked at Cyke, and nodded. ~Sir, I'll go last. Worse comes to worse, I'll find another way to HQ. My powers are pretty well suited to that.~
Scott thought for a long moment. There'd been no reply from Gambit or those with him. For the time being, he'd just have to hope the Cajun was getting them out. It would be Cyclop's job to make sure they still had somewhere to get out to. And that was going to be difficult, with the big man proof against their powers. Although, he realized as his eyes fell again on the wreckage pinning the SEALs, there were ways around that.
A smile touched his lips as a plan took shape. "Evo," he said. "You mentioned earlier you've got a form you can fly. Take it and go across to the Whale." Via the link, he added, ~See if you can find where the commando leader went, but do not confront or alarm him. Just locate him and inform me over the link.~
Then to Ororo he sent, ~Storm, I need you to meet me over at the Whale. I'll explain there.~
Moving the few steps to where Magneto had stood, he scooped up the weapon the Master of Magnetism had wrenched away from its previous owner. As he had expected, a Heckler & Koch MP5. Turning it over in his hands, he checked that the sturdy little submachinegun hadn't been damaged by its unorthodox handling. Confirming that it was set to single shot, he slung it over his shoulder and returned to Nightcrawler and Andreas.
"Okay," he said quietly to the fuzzy elf. "Take me over to the Whale, then Andreas. Andreas, you've probably got more technical knowhow than the rest of us put together. We need you to figure out how to operate those pods, okay?"
Re: Olympia/Engineering/Logan, Creed/Final Clash/JP
Rogue felt a bit of anxiety building up inside of herself as she witnessed Gambit looking and sounding worried. He told them to get all the info - files, discs, etc - that they could...
So, Rogue began to dig around, looking for things. She didn't really have anywhere to stash anything, being in her green & white uniform with the hoodie and all...
Re: Olympia: Outside on deck *Tag Any?
Wolverine continued to make his way steadily up the side of the large ship; his long claws spiking the shell as if it were made of paper. Over the shrill sound of adamantium blades puncturing the steel structure he thought he heard a voice; a woman's voice, calling out... perhaps searching for him?
He stopped momentarily to listen and after a moment of silence he called out; leaning back away from the ship's side, anchored by his claws as he craned his neck to look skyward.
"Storm? That you?"
He waited, his eyes scanning as far up the side as was in his view. Not hearing a reply, he shrugged and continued toward the top throwing one long look down behind him to be sure Sabretooth wasn't scaling the vessel below him.
"Onward an' upward," Logan mumbled as he rythmically sunk his claws into the hull, hand over hand.
Re: Olympia: Outside on deck *Tag Any?
The light faded as LaTrina staggered to her feet, her gaze going everywhere as the signs of departure penetrated her tired mind.
I don't understand what is going on? Mom! I've got to find her!
Thoughts of her mother somewhere, leant a strength LaTrina never knew she had. In her mind, she became desparate to find her mother and get out of this mess.
Slowly but with strength returning, LaTrina started to make her way to where their cabin had been located only to find something more--something that made her pause.
Who was the strange person moving about and did she know them?
Such thoughts ran through her mind as she stared.
OOC: Don't know who's closest to her hence my reasoning for not mentioning any names.

~ Olympia, Engineering section ~
"Okay," he said quietly to the fuzzy elf. "Take me over to the Whale, then Andreas. Andreas, you've probably got more technical knowhow than the rest of us put together. We need you to figure out how to operate those pods, okay?"\
Both Nightcrawler and Andreas were in such a state that although Scott's previous words had indeed registered, his words did not impart any action. With the second request, however, both sprang into action, but in different ways.
Andreas was first, his eyes widened and his body posture became more defensive. He held out both his hands, palms out, fingers up in a sort of waving, defensive back-and-forth hesitancy.
"Huh? Woh wo wo woh! Ha! What? Hold it, now just hold it, man. I'm not going with tin-head but now you're asking me to go with you? You're expecting me?. Mister, that guy's got a gun out there an' hey, I'm not ..."
With marked exasperated, he dropped his hands to his side, only to lift them up again as he turned about and surveyed the heavily damaged engineering compartment.
With a grunting, sighed honk which sounded much more like a duck than a human, he put his right hand out in a raised "stop", and put his other hand to forehead with eyes closed in that classic externalization of a headache.
Nightcrawler moved ahead with a slight unsteadiness, holding up one finger. "Vheady," he announced, "but ... I think ... just one?" After a beat he finished. "At a time?"
~ Jonah's Whale, outer hull ~
Reddish-orange beams of light danced over the blown hatch of the Jonah's Whale from a half-dozen separate points on the crafts outer hall. Where each beam struck, the hatch dissolved into a cold, gray-indigo cloud which wisped and coiled, before being drawn back into the ship.
At the hole where the hatch had been, the rough, explosion-imparted edges softened and began to reform, as new depositions of ... ? ... slowly knitted the hatch back together again. It was just barely possible to perceive the change over time.
(Gyrich and Crow will feel a slight warming against one or more parts of their bodies, equivilent to holding a hand near an incandescent light bulb but in narrow, focused beam, not diffused. What's going on is outside of the military or criminal domain so I really can't say more). Edited by: Paid by the Word at: 1/8/06 4:39 pm
Re: Olympia: Secret Room/Chamber/ Tags Several
Though one couldn't see it, one of Chamber's brows rose a bit in response.
*Well I can do that.*
He moved over to the beds and started gathering what he could. He didn't know how helpful these things were but if Gambit said so, he wasn't about to not do it.
Besides, they could be important and they might not. Chamber started to stuff things on his person before moving over to where the Cajun was.
Re: Whale: Hull/Crow/ tag Gyrich (others?)
Crow gave Gyrich a long, measuring, look before nodding simply. “Okay,” she agreed minimally, stepping after him. If he wanted to stay an unknown, that was his own business. Besides, she wasn’t one to give away anything of her knowledge anyway, unless she could find a way to benefit from it. Knowledge was power, after all…and she was rather fond of keeping it to herself.
Inside the hatch, she quickly examined it for things someone like him would miss, and found nothing important. It was unlikely that Magneto would have alarmed only one entrance to the Whale, but, safe was much, much better than sorry. Inspection completed, her gaze turned back to Gyrich. “Anything el-“
Crow broke off, twisting around at the inexplicable flow of heat from behind her. A knife was slipped easily into each hand before the sight registered. Once it did, she relaxed faintly, but did not return the blades. Crow had seen many strange things, but this was still high on the list. Even worse, she didn’t know what it was. “It heals itself,” she commented, rather disappointed. She liked that hole.

Re: Olympia: Outside on deck *Tag Cyke, Logan and LaTrina
~Understood.~ Storm sent back to Cyclops. She turned from the railing seeing no one. Hearing her name she whiped her head back and looked, down, "Logan?" she ran down on the railing. Looking over the railing she gasped, "What on earth? Are you alright? Decide to go for a dip?" she arched a brow at the man. He was too far for her to grab yet.
Hearing another scuttle she turned, "Come out!" she shouted hand on the back of her jeans, on her knife, just in case.
OOC: gah I keep forgetting her name. ><' Oh and redid this sorry.
Re: Olympia: Outside on deck *Tag Any?
Evo nodded, and the cracking bgan anew. Once he was changed, he leapt into the air, swooping down to grab his shell and then move on over towards the Jonah's Whale. Once he arrived on board, he changed back to human, then to the Wisp form, the form in which he began to look for Gyrich.
Whale: Conning Tower / Gyrich / Tags: Crow, Evo“It heals itself,” [Crow] commented, rather disappointed. She liked that hole.
"Welcome to my world," Gyrich muttered.
Quite fond of the hole himself, he was also surprised and displeased by its disappearance, however gradual. He didn't have unlimited supplies of C-4 and, if the craft was going to keep putting itself back together, he was going to have to get creative in crippling it. At least if he hoped to keep it crippled long enough for the fleet to arrive.
With a sigh, he holstered his gun again and swung himself up onto the ladder. Next came his least favorite way to enter an unsecured room -- climbing up out of a hole. This day just kept getting better and better.
"Yeh," he called out casually as if scaling the outer hull of a large cruise ship was a weekend hobby of his. Pausing a moment he looked toward the upper deck; toward the sound of her voice and, seeing her somewhat shocked expression, he beamed a crooked smile at her.
Looking over the railing she gasped, "What on earth? Are you alright?"
"Yeh, I'm fine," he replied back. He was about three quarters of the way to the top now; physically it was a great workout but he was starting to breathe a little heavier from the exertion and a light sheen of perspiration covered his body.
"Decide to go for a dip?" she arched a brow at the man (who)was too far away for her to grab onto yet.
"Oh, ha ha," he commented to his friend, a spark of humor in his eyes as he shot a glance at her, "you gonna just stand there crackin' jokes all day or ya' gonna gimme a hand here?" He was perfectly capable of taking care of himself and he knew she knew that, but it just felt like the thing to say as he reached the top deck and peered over the edge at her.

She backed up to the rail. One thing that Logan taught her well was NEVER turn your back.
"Yeh, I'm fine," he replied back. He was about three quarters of the way to the top now; physically it was a great workout but he was starting to breathe a little heavier from the exertion and a light sheen of perspiration covered his body.
Glancing to the side and down she grinned at her teacher and friend.

She reached down and clasped his wrists, lowering her face to his, noses almost touching, "Theres someone else here." she whispered. She knew Logan had beyond human hearing, but wasn't sure on the other person she heard, hence the whisper.
Once he was over she steadied him, a hand on his back, one on the back of her jeans, on her knife. She knew Logan was more then capable then taking care of the person, but after seeing what he just did, resting, even for him would help she thought.
Re: Olympia: Outer hull/top deck/Storm *tag* Logan, LaTrina
LaTrina didn't know what to do. She only stumbled forward, hands before her face as she searched for her mother.
"Mom! Mom, where are you?" she called out, gaze still a bit blurry from her healing but there was a worried, harried look to them.
She didn't know there was someone close by but her worry for her mother neatly overrode that as she continued to move foreward.
~~~
Near to where Storm and Logan were, Mrs. Adams was looking for her daughter.
She stopped on seeing the two there. Then with determined steps she moved to them,
"Excuse me, but I'm looking for my daughter? Have you seen her anywhere?"
~~~~
As for LaTrina, she heard her mother's voice and her gaze was less worried, less harried.
"Mom!" she yelled out, following that voice. Then skidding to a stop on seeing that her mother was not alone. "um..."
Re: Olympia: Outside on deck *Tag Cyke, Logan and LaTrina
Crow shot Gyrich a slightly sympathetic look that was fortunately lost to his turned back. The hole hadn’t been necessary to her, and the climb he began couldn’t have been good to his mental health, either. For being an army brat and all, he was still a decent person, and Miri hated to see decent people suffer.
…Unless she had something to gain for it, of course. Or she was in a bad mood.
Okay, so she didn’t have too much of a heart. With a resigned sigh that was somehow completely different from Gyrich’s, she shifted again. Suddenly small and feathery, she flew up to land a few rungs overhead, in the utterly nonthreatening form of a sparrow. Crow took off again to land on the last rung, looking down at Gyrich. Sometimes, she really loved being a mutant.

Upon hearing this Storm removed her hand from the knife on the back of her pants, ~We have two more civilians on board, Cyclops.~ she sent to him

Storm saw the two women now, "It's alright. We won't hurt you." she said as she put a hand up. "My friend and I here can help you get off this boat. Are you both alright?" she asked, she had no idea the girl was a mutant.
~Copy that,~ Cyclops sent to Storm, while watching the agitated Andreas with concern. The young mutant had been through a lot of havoc -- not that he hadn't caused a lot -- and it wasn't over yet.
With a grunting, sighed honk which sounded much more like a duck than a human, [Andreas] put his right hand out in a raised "stop", and put his other hand to forehead with eyes closed in that classic externalization of a headache.
"You don't have to come with us or help us if you don't want to," Scott said gently. "But you should know there's a whole fleet full of men with guns headed full speed this way."
Leaving the choice up to him, Cyclops turned back to Kurt.
Nightcrawler moved ahead with a slight unsteadiness, holding up one finger. "Vheady," he announced, "but ... I think ... just one?" After a beat he finished. "At a time?"
Scott nodded. ~Somewhere near the turbolift, please,~ he sent through the link, not wanting any of the trapped SEALs to overhear and warn their leader. "However you need to do it. Don't hurt yourself."
Whale: Conning Tower+Saucer/Gyrich/ Tags: CrowCrow took off again to land on the last rung, looking down at Gyrich.
Gyrich, climbing swiftly, glanced up at the little bird the girl had become. For a moment, he toyed with the idea of asking her to scout ahead, then discarded it. As competent as she appeared to be, she was still a civilian, and there were two things you could never count on with civilians -- their loyalties and their spines. Things got hot and, nine times out of ten, they'd either bolt or stab you in the back.
Still grumbling inwardly, he reached the top, finding there the hatch he'd more or less anticipated. He'd spent enough time with his bulky frame crammed aboard submarines to have come to both expect and loathe them. Hooking one arm over a rung, he made a shooing motion at the bird girl with his other before using it to nudge the hatch above.
To his surprise, it lifted slightly. Maybe his luck was turning. Or maybe it was a trap. Edging it up again, he looked around. Walls on two sides, a raised platform on the third, open space on the fourth. Fish, meet barrel. Well, at least the walls might conceal his arrival.
As quietly as he could, he eased the hatch all the way open.
Re: Olympia: Outer hull/top deck/Storm *tag* Logan, LaTrina
// Players may NPC Kurt porting them to the Whale, one at a time. He'll take people to the open deck area in front since its too cramped in the storm bridge area where the transpad is and there is no line-of-sight to the interior.
Re: Olympia: Outer hull/top deck/LaTrina *tag* Logan, Storm
LaTrina moved closer to her mother, her gaze on Logan. There was a bit of fear in that gaze as she didn't know what he was. He looked scary.
"Who or what is that?" she asked pointing a shaking finger at him, her gaze moving to Storm. That woman didn't seem fearful. In fact she seemed nice enough.
"LaTrina! Where are your manners. You do not talk like that to strangers." Mrs. Adams admonished her daughter. LaTrina hung her head, embarressed at her outburst. Mrs. Adams looked over at Logan and smiled a smile filled with apolegy(sp?).
"I am sorry for my daughter's outburst. It was unintentional, believe me." she said. Then turned to Storm. "What is going on here? Where's the fighting?" she asked.
LaTrina kept looking at Logan out, her head down curious. He seemed so...so animal like almost. How did he ever end up like that?
She dropped her eyes again, hoping he didn't catch those looks.
Re: Olympia: Inside/Crow/*Tag Gyrich
Watching Gyrich struggle with the ladder, Crow couldn’t help but give an inward laugh. When it came to infiltration, she was still one of the best out there, probably because she didn’t have to deal with the little things. That, and she had better information, and knew more ways to avoid detection, and countless other things…not that she was bragging.
Crow gave Gyrich an irritated, beady-eyed stare before hopping aside for him. As soon as the hatch had cracked open, she slipped through it, in her best “fly on the wall” impression. Being a shapeshifter, her best happened to be very good indeed. She doubted that the ship had been left with any sort of security system intact—and if it did, she had already seen how well their system worked—but she also prided herself on not getting caught. On the off chance there was something nasty left, she wanted to know about it before it knew about her.
Miri’s vision changed as her eyes shifted shape, and suddenly she could see more of the color spectrum than any normal human was used to. Her bug eyes sharpened and lost the annoying compound bit she could never figure out, and she gave a careful look for anything out of the ordinary.
Crow changed back to human, blinking as she lost the bizarre feeling of seeing colors most brains weren’t meant to handle. A quick modification of her nose and ears followed, producing nothing more than the fading smell of long-past human. As far as she could tell, there was absolutely nothing left that would make life painful for a sneaky teenager or her commando companion. Without turning around, she nodded, and signaled for him to follow.

Background: Many, many years ago, Charles Francis Xavier established Xavier's School for the Gifted. Also, seeing other Mutants misusing and abusing their powers, he created the first generation of the X-Men.This original team was trained and lead by an old friend of his...Logan, aka Wolverine. Logan's co-leader was a young woman and student named Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Once the team was trained and fielded on active missions, they took on the additional responsibility of teaching and helping new Mutants deal with their powers. On one horrible night, the X-Men were fielded to stop a particularly powerful Mutant and his 'gang'. The 'intelligence' received on this Mutant and his cohorts was sketchy and actually turned out to be a set-up to entrap the X-Men and take them captive. In the ensuing melee', 'things' happened and a number of the team were killed outright or severely injured. After making sure his remaining team-mates were going to be okay, Logan left. Xavier has not, to current time, explained his absence or even whether or not he survived.Current Time/Game Time: Almost seven years later, as Human/Mutant incidents are on the rise, Xavier once again sees a need for a Mutant 'police force'. He sees this new X-Men team as a force for good and a way to help peacefully integrate the rapidly emerging Mutant society with the established Human society. To this end, he has contacted Logan and asked him to 'come home' and train his 'new' team.
Logan has reluctantly agreed. Can shadows from their past be put aside for the good of the new X-Men? How will the surviving members of the original team react and what will they do as 'truths' are learned about that disastrous night?Note: We want the new X-Men to include younger versions of the old familiar characters such as Scott, Jean, Beast etc...as well as many of the OCC’s and other Canon characters that are available. Please ask the Staff BEFORE stating or establishing that your character was one of the old, now disbanded, original X-Men.
