As the name indicates...this RPG will revolve around Crossroads and New Beginnings.CrossroadsWe would like to see characters come to a 'crossroads' in their lives where important and life changing decisions have to be made. These events can be very personal...i.e. a relationship beginning, ending or changing, or they can be moral or spiritual. Whatever is decided, they should show 'growth' for your character.New BeginningsThis can be any number of items as well and most likely will relate back to the 'crossroads' in your character(s)' life or lives and/or career. They may be starting a new career as teacher or student at Xavier's School for the Gifted or may have been selected to train for the upcoming X-Men team(s). Their 'new beginning' once again may be as simple as establishing a new relationship or changes in an old one.

((Sorry, my bad. Will change.))
Crow had to fight to keep her poise when Cyclops’s obvious surprise registered. He apparently hadn’t expected to see the seemingly innocent teenager—for that matter she highly doubted he knew who she was. His question, a moment later, confirmed it. She hadn’t been called “miss” outside of a grocery store since she had learned how to get all fuzzy. Come to think of it, she hadn’t been called it before then much, either. He was polite, she had to give him that much.
Miri’s arms uncrossed, and she gave an easy, unconcerned look around the room. “My friend?” she asked, seeming to inspect her nails for some invisible bit of dirt, “Can’t say I’ve seen any of my friends ‘round here.” Looking up at him after a long moment, Crow arched a single brow until it had nearly disappeared into her short hairline. “And for that matter, what would you be saying to them, with a gun like that? They’re rather loud, you know. Might just drown out the words.” Sure, he was polite, but that didn’t mean she’d give him any less of a hard time. Where would the fun be in that?

Re: Whale: Upper Disk / Cyke / Tags: Crow, G (Storm?)“Can’t say I’ve seen any of my friends ‘round here.”
"That's too bad," Cyclops said, sounding genuinely regretful. "This is a bad situation to be without them."
Looking up at him after a long moment, Crow arched a single brow until it had nearly disappeared into her short hairline. “And for that matter, what would you be saying to them, with a gun like that? They’re rather loud, you know. Might just drown out the words.”
"If I have to use it, it will be too late for words." Scott lifted his head, pitching his voice to carry. "Team Leader? You need to warn your men and the fleet. There's going to be an explosion aboard the Olympia."
Re: Whale: Upper Disk / Gyrich / Tags: Crow, Cyke (Storm?)
So Cyclops had armed himself, Gyrich thought. Logical. And ironic as, with the neutralizer no longer functioning, his armor meant he was far less vulnerable to a gun than the younger man's mutant power.
"If I have to use it, it will be too late for words." Scott lifted his head, pitching his voice to carry. "Team Leader? You need to warn your men and the fleet. There's going to be an explosion aboard the Olympia."
"Call me Nemesis, Cyclops." He was mulling over not just the mutant's words but his tone, analyzing every aspect of both this and their earlier brief encounter. Delta Force weren't just stormtroopers, they were counter-terrorism specialists, trained in everything from threat analysis to hostage negotiation. His gut told him the young man was sincere. Of course, he could be mistaken or Cyclops had been given bad intel.
On the other hand, it wasn't something he could risk.
Switching his radio from tac channel to command, he spoke into it rapidly and clearly, his transmission going directly to the Tarawa control center. "Code Alpha-Three-Three-Delta-Four-Two. Possible detonation imminent aboard primary. Strongly advise total evac now."

((Posting from work - can't flesh out right now and will rewrite as narrative when I get home. While I believe Mana's group has been directed to accompany Wolverine, Nightcrawler will be hanging around in Engineering to sweep up anyone else needing a port out who has failed to follow Logan. He'll also be resting up as much as possible since he'll be one of the last ones to leave the Olympia in case an emergency transport is needed - after all, he's the one who bought the corpsmen here so he feels reponsible for them. Nightcrawler will also offer his teleport ability to the SEALS and can be freely NPC'd by them or anyone else needing an evac. He'll put up a cheerful front so people don't totally stress out))

Storm, back in her hiding place could hear voices. She couldn't see anyone just yet and hoped neither one had a nose on them like Logan or hiding would have been for naught.
Keeping to the shadows she moved around as much as she could. It was extremely hard for there was very little shadow to keep to, but she did it none the less.
~Alright. I'm in position. Awaiting your order.~ she thought to Scott.
Re: Olympia: Deck/ LaTrina, mom*tag* Cyke, Kurt,,logan
Practically 'forced' down in to the life boats, LaTrina gave a squall. Her mother laying a gentle hand on her daughter's arm to calm her.
With others LaTrina's hand touched the lifeless body and with that touch, the two of them began to glow as LaTrina's healing powers activated.
There was no sound from LaTrina as she attempted to heal the person, her mother watched her daughter and those around her, to see what they would do.
If they so much as harmed her daughter, they would see what she could do, especially when it came to protecting her child.
In the meantime, LaTrina's attention was wholly focused on what she was doing that she never noticed her surroundings.

As Logan peered out from under the lifeboat to see if there was any sign that the incoming fleet had boarded the ship he caught a glow from the corner of his eye and turned his head to see what was happening. It didn't surprise him as he'd heard the girl's mother mention that her daughter was a healer.
He watched for a moment with mild interest, then glanced at the girl's mother sensing her heightened state; ready to protect her daughter... a mutant.
Then he let his eyes slide back to watch some more then he grunted, a sound of approval and mentioned casually, "Could always use another healer." He left his comment at that and turned his attention back to the deck outside their protected place. "Figure detonation should be any moment now. Once it settles we'll try to get one of these lifeboats launched and get off this heap before it goes under." With that he sat quietly and waited.

With the arrival of the rest of the rescue helicopters, the handful of Sea Knights hovering over the stricken cruise liner doubled, then tripled into a swarm. Spurred by Gyrich's warning, they came swooping in, the skill of the pilots maneuvering them in a complicated aerial dance. They dipped low and, anywhere the area was open enough to clear the rotors, the agile craft were pivoted to open rear ramps or side stairs to nearly touch the Olympia's decks. Audible despite the whupping rumble of the rotors and the growl of the engines came amplified voices urging the survivors to board the rescue craft.
Above them, a pair of smaller, but more powerful Sea Stallions dipped down toward the two pallets left amidships by the craft from the Whale. Flying up to meet them and help them grapple the twin loads of warheads were several black-clad figures with SHIELD jetpacks on their backs.
And, high above them, a trio of Harriers rocketed over in a triangle formation, a full complement of missiles slung on the underside of their raked back wings.

With the presence of the two mutants on board the craft, the Jonah's Whale came to life. One such indication of this activity was a low static-filled hiss which came from the broad-band radio and satellite receiver. Over the course of seconds, a display notated secured channels and hopped frequencies being matched, and then decrypted: their voices could be heard crackling out through the speaker mounts.
"Jesus! Get a load of this, there's an invoice on the package!" one voice called out, excitedly.
A voice from another channel was having a back and forth conversation with someone else in a low, calm professional voice. "Blue team certifies negative for IED. That's a go, Amber team. Repeat, negative for IED".
"Cut the chatter, Red-2. Amber, what is ETA for transport?"

If having a demon perched 10' away wasn't motivating enough, Maldonado thought as he finished wriggling out from under the wreckage, that ominous voice would've done the trick. Straightening, he suppressed a wince. He felt like, well, like someone had dropped the roof on him. Still, he was better off than Moore.
Trapped and helpless to intervene, he'd had a front row seat watching that freak of nature -- that mutant -- almost rip his buddy's heart out. The surreal sights that followed, especially the demon fetching the corpsmen, had replaced some of his rage with confusion, but he would still dearly have loved a target ... and the furrier the better.
Nevertheless, the SEAL thought as he began working feverishly to pry his other two teammates from under the mat of pipes and wiring, all that would have to wait. If they didn't get out of here, all the corpsmen's work would be in vain. Not to mention the little detail of the rest of them being dead, too.
“SELF DESTRUCT COUNTDOWN! YOU HAVE SIX MINUTES TO REACH MINIMUM SAFE DISTANCE!”
The last echoes hadn't even died away when Maldonado's radio crackled to life. "Incoming friendly." He looked up from his efforts to lever a large pipe off Hobb's leg and saw Devlin emerging from a side hall, carting along the limp form of an injured civilian. The medics, just finishing up with Moore, hurried over to take custody of their new patient and Devlin came over to help Mal pry.
"Padilla's humping* the cannon topside," Dev muttered out of the side of his mouth, explaining his partner's absence.
Mal nodded. "Anything we can do about that self-destruct?"
"Negative." Del shook his head. "Looked in on my way by. Like something out of Star Trek in there."
"Let's get us some 'minimum #*&@$! safe distance then."

Re: Olympia: Under cover in the lifeboat/ Chamber, TAGS open
Having followed Gambit meeting up with the others (Logan, Storm, before she left to do her thing, etc), he stared at the two new people. One seemed a bit young and the other older must be mother and daughter, he wondered. But he didn't have time to listen to any more once the alarm started blared.
*Good time to sound this. Loud though.*
When Logan grabbed the mother and daughter, and hearing the daughter yelling to be released, Chamber snapped out of his thoughtful mood to follow after.
He climbed into the lifeboat wondering what will happen to the ship(he doesn't know so I'm implying that here). He hoped it didn't explode or anything like that.
His 'gaze' widened when the bright glow appeared. He stared long and hard at that. The woman that Logan had grabbed with the girl had that look of protection.
*The girl's a mutant. How fascinating!*
He continued to watch her, not really seeing if the others were in the lifeboat or not.

Karina:
Karina had followed after Logan with no question. So that when they were in the lifeboat, she climbed in herself. She stared at the new girl, eyes wide as the glow encircled her and the injured person.
Wow! came her thought. She looked at Logan when he made the comment about could using another healer before she turned away.
Scarlet Witch:
The hex bolt that Scarlet Witch had tossed in to the secret room did indeed detonate/explode/whatever. Though it didn't really explode as it sort of burped out some strange yellowish sticky liquid.
The liquid poured throughout the room making the computers and such virtually unusuable(figured I try something new with the hex bolt inside of it exploding all the time. The liquid is also highly corrosive so no one would be using that stuff for a good long while, if not never.)
Scarlet Witch had climbed into the lifeboat and waited. She didn't know what her hex bolt did but hopefully whatever it did was useful.
Re: Whale: Upper Disk / Crow / Tags: Cyke, G (Storm?)
As Cyclops spoke, trying to reassure them, Miri studied him carefully. Call her her paranoid, or over that thin line, but she didn’t trust him. The X-men were “nice guys”, but Miri doubted that even they would warn a potentially hostile force at such great risk to their own. Besides, she had a rule against trusting polite people. Bad experiences.
Continuing to watch Cyclops impartially, she let none of this show up, although her arms re-folded across her chest. The gesture had nothing to do with her attitude; it was simply an easier position to reach her favorite knives from. With a mental sigh, Crow dropped the enhanced senses she had given herself. The earlier shots had given her enough of a problem, and she had the sinking feeling that there would be more. Right before her sense of smell faded, she thought there was the tickle of something new…but it was probably nothing. She hoped.
Although her senses were merely human, they were still on high alert as she turned away, almost casually. “Well then,” she stated cheerily, “If that’s it, then I have some work to get back to.” Seeming to go back to her search for valuables, Miri waited on edge for something she didn’t know existed, and wished there was a way for her to grow eyes in the back of her head. ((The one time I don't save, my coding gets eaten. Doesn't that figure? Thanks to everyone who pointed it out.))

Scott closed his eyes for a moment behind his visor, exhaling a mental sigh of relief. The big commando believing him had been the most uncertain part of the plan, depending as it did on the psyche of a stranger. The rest was just physics. Physics and reflexes.
~Evo,~ he sent via the link. ~Please come to the upper disk.~
“Well then,” [Crow] stated cheerily, “If that’s it, then I have some work to get back to.” Seeming to go back to her search for valuables, Miri waited on edge for something she didn’t know existed, and wished there was a way for her to grow eyes in the back of her head.
"Of course," Cyclops replied. "Sorry to interrupt. Nemesis?" Though he couldn't see the other man, conversational habit made him direct his gaze at the wall behind which the commando stood. "Thank you."
Quickly and quietly, he drew in a deep breath. Then he sent to Storm: ~Now!~
Re: Whale / Cyke / Tags: Crow, Gyrich, Storm, Evo
Storm was a little startled at the sudden intrusion into her head, but didn't flinch. Nodding quietly she stretched out her fingers as if to grab the very air itself.
Blue eyes closing briefly she opened them to reveal white, pupiless marbles. Concentrating, the air swirled around and round, as she drew it towards her.
Backing out slowly, she took the air out with her. It took much concentration to move and keep things in check. The Air lock itself was working but Storm couldn't draw the air into herself, it had to go somewhere.
~Alright~ she sent to Cyclops as the air danced around her. She looked to be inside her own personal wind tunnel and it was getting bigger by the second.
OOC: Hope that was ok....ugh...sort of brain dead.....
Re: Olympia: Engineering/SEALs/Tag: Any There~Evo,~ he sent via the link. ~Please come to the upper disk.~
"I wonder why he wants me up there?" Evo asked. "Well, he must have a good reason," he said to himself, silently.
He was still in his wisp form, so it was no trouble to climb up the narrow ladderway. He had made it most of the way up and was about to go through the hatch when Scott practically shouted in everyone's mind ~NOW!!~
Evo looked up with a questioning look, his mouth opened.
~Huh?~ he asked on the link. ~Did I miss something?~ He'd heard something about air pressure but wasn't sure if that was something to concern him.
All of a sudden the wind started roaring through the small riser the ladder was attached to and Evo felt dizzy for a second. At that moment, however, red lights flashed inside the ladderway and he saw/heard the hatches above and below close with a resounding thump. As air rushed in from a hidden source, a cold automated woman's voice announced something about restoring air and pressure levels.
Evo tried opening the hatch, but without success.
~I'm trapped~, he announced. ~I have this voice gibbering at me about atmospheric pressure being restored, should I switch to strongman form and bash my way through?~
Re: Whale / Gyrich / Tags: Crow, Cyke, Storm, EvoOOC: PG-13 for mild to moderate profanity
"Nemesis?" The voice lifted a little and paused. "Thank you."
Gyrich watched the girl out of the corner of his eye while he considered his opponent. Polite. Intelligent. Educated. He'd shown Wolverine an odd mix of diffidence and assurance. And toward Gyrich ... wary respect?
"You're welcome," the commando replied, starting to step away from the wall. Gun or no, the young man was in the way of the mission and had to be neutralized. Preferably, Gyrich found himself hoping, not fatally.
A breeze brushed his cheek and his ears popped. Suspicion took root and blossomed to full-blown realization in an instant.
Sonofabitch.
Gyrich sucked in a breath and held it. It was already perceptibly thin, but it was the best he was going to get for awhile. He was going to have to move quickly, even what he would view in less urgent circumstances as 'recklessly.'
The step turned into a lunge and he was pivoting around the elevator column, MP-5 up and finger curling on the trigger when Cyclops fired from down near the floor. The bullet hit him square in the chest, right in the middle of the armor. It was like being kicked in the sternum by a mule. It literally took his breath away.
Son. of. a. bitch.

The guy was fast. Nemesis was around the turbolift and almost had him in his sights when Scott fired. Without waiting to see the results, the young mutant rolled to one side, taking cover beneath a console.
As the echoes of the shot died away, Cyclops heard a mechanical female voice announcing the loss of pressure in the disk followed by the clunk of the hatch sealing shut and the hiss of air through the vents as the ship struggled to compensate. Kicking himself mentally for not realizing the Whale might have such a capability, he crossed his fingers that Storm would be able to keep it up long enough.
~I'm trapped~, [Evo] announced. ~I have this voice gibbering at me about atmospheric pressure being restored, should I switch to strongman form and bash my way through?~
~Negative,~ Scott replied. He peeked out. The big man had reeled back, hand scrabbling at the turbolift controls as he struggled to breathe, to escape, anything. ~Just a few more seconds ...~
Re: Whale/Cyke/Tag: Crow, Storm, Gyrich, Evo
Storm let out a mental gasp as she felt a pull. 'This cannot be!'
Hearing voices, she realized one of the teammates were trapped. She was torn but couldn't give it up just yet as she heeded Scotts call: ~Just a few more seconds...~
'Goddess be with them...let them make it out safely...' she thought, increasing her power slightly, fighting the pull of the lock. Someone or something was fighting the pressure and she could feel it, but had no idea what it was.
Olympia Deck/ Logan's team TAGS Helo crew, ChamberAudible despite the whupping rumble of the rotors and the growl of the engines came amplified voices urging the survivors to board the rescue craft.
Logan heard the announcement clearly even over the roar of the rotors, his eyes darted about as he considered his options. Looking over his shoulder, he looked at each person in his charge then to Gambit. "We gotta get them off this ship," he told the Acadian. He didn't like the idea of handing them over to the soldiers but it was their best option. "Okay, listen up, " he said as he crawled out from under the lifeboat. Reaching back under he grabbed a wrist and pulled someone out, it was Karina. His gaze met hers, then he looked at the helos again offering survivors sanctuary. "Yer all goin' with them," he explained as they slowly emerged one by one. "When you get to wherever they end up, call the mansion. Tell Jean what's goin' on, the best ya' can, an' tell her to get ya' home. Got it?"
He started walking toward the soldiers escorting the remaining survivors on board. As one of the men looked in their direction, Logan waved his arm overhead, "Ya' got survivors here!" Then, he looked at LeBeau, "Maybe you should go with 'em. Watch out for 'em. Keep 'em from gettin' into trouble." Then he turned again to the young group and the girl's mother, "Whatever you do, don't tell 'em yer mutants. Got it? Yer just passengers from the cruise." As his eyes moved to Chamber, Logan checked up quickly and pushed the kid behind the tall Cajun.
"You'll never pass as human," he told him, then he considered the options. "It's up to you, Chamber... take yer chances with us... or with them." While he had his back turned toward the helos, Logan reached up to tap his comlink... it wasn't there. "Dammit... lost it. Gumbo, let Storm an' Cyke know we're gettin' the kids off the ship."
Background: Many, many years ago, Charles Francis Xavier established Xavier's School for the Gifted. Also, seeing other Mutants misusing and abusing their powers, he created the first generation of the X-Men.This original team was trained and lead by an old friend of his...Logan, aka Wolverine. Logan's co-leader was a young woman and student named Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Once the team was trained and fielded on active missions, they took on the additional responsibility of teaching and helping new Mutants deal with their powers. On one horrible night, the X-Men were fielded to stop a particularly powerful Mutant and his 'gang'. The 'intelligence' received on this Mutant and his cohorts was sketchy and actually turned out to be a set-up to entrap the X-Men and take them captive. In the ensuing melee', 'things' happened and a number of the team were killed outright or severely injured. After making sure his remaining team-mates were going to be okay, Logan left. Xavier has not, to current time, explained his absence or even whether or not he survived.Current Time/Game Time: Almost seven years later, as Human/Mutant incidents are on the rise, Xavier once again sees a need for a Mutant 'police force'. He sees this new X-Men team as a force for good and a way to help peacefully integrate the rapidly emerging Mutant society with the established Human society. To this end, he has contacted Logan and asked him to 'come home' and train his 'new' team.
Logan has reluctantly agreed. Can shadows from their past be put aside for the good of the new X-Men? How will the surviving members of the original team react and what will they do as 'truths' are learned about that disastrous night?Note: We want the new X-Men to include younger versions of the old familiar characters such as Scott, Jean, Beast etc...as well as many of the OCC’s and other Canon characters that are available. Please ask the Staff BEFORE stating or establishing that your character was one of the old, now disbanded, original X-Men.
