As the name indicates...this RPG will revolve around Crossroads and New Beginnings.CrossroadsWe would like to see characters come to a 'crossroads' in their lives where important and life changing decisions have to be made. These events can be very personal...i.e. a relationship beginning, ending or changing, or they can be moral or spiritual. Whatever is decided, they should show 'growth' for your character.New BeginningsThis can be any number of items as well and most likely will relate back to the 'crossroads' in your character(s)' life or lives and/or career. They may be starting a new career as teacher or student at Xavier's School for the Gifted or may have been selected to train for the upcoming X-Men team(s). Their 'new beginning' once again may be as simple as establishing a new relationship or changes in an old one.

"Can you surface the ship? Nightcrawler mentioned sensors, satellites and escape pods but from the jolt I felt earlier I get the impression we're not up to snuff on the moving of this beast."
Knowing, as Gyrich did, that he couldn't transmit over the radio until they did actually surface he nodded to Summers to hand it over.
Scott nodded. "I can surface and fly her," he confirmed, "but not alone. Sensors, navigation ... she's a complicated craft, it will take all of us. But we can do it."
Stepping forward, Cyclops placed the radio in Nemesis' outstretched palm. As he watched the big man's fingers curl around it, he moved back toward the tubolift, tapping his own radio. "I'm coming below, get ready to take her up."
"While he an' the others are gettin' prepared to surface... whatdya' plan on sayin' when we do?" [Wolverine] asked Nemesis
Gyrich took a moment to slip his radio on and position the earpiece and microphone. "That you weren't part of the attack on the Olympia. That I can verify whether you're carrying weapons of mass destruction. And, if you're not, that you -- and your people -- are free to go." He motioned, indicating the Whale. "Ship and all."
"And if they won't accept that?" Scott asked.
"Then you'd better be ready to patch me through to Georgios Antonakopoulos."

Logan considered Scott's assessment then nodded his acquiescence and watched as the young man handed over Nemesis' radio and turned away to address the others over his own radio.

"Okay then," Wolverine acknowledged with a nod, pushing away from the console shelf where he'd been leaning.
It was time to start taking a chance with trust... they were getting nowhere in their standoff and someone had to take the first step toward the truth of the matter. Nodding to Storm in gesture that she should follow them below, he addressed Gyrich.
"So what'dya need to do to verify that we're not carryin' WMDs? Personal inspection of the ship? I'll give you an escort if that's the case, but ya' better make it a quick inspection. Otherwise, we can probably use yer assistance to move this barge. Like Cyke said, it's gonna be an "all hands" deal."

Evo would have chuckled at Cyclops' coming below to help with bringing the ship up. ~Hey, Cyclops,~ The fragile adaptive mutant said telepathically, ~You do realize that while I had trouble earlier, I can surface this ship no problem, right?~ Still, however, Evo waited for Cyclops to actually enter the room or reply.

((Assume Evo has also informed you he can handle the internal security system now, which for the most part consists of access control and sonic stunners. For some reason the access controls are set to "Green" for mutants and "Red" for non-mutants. Figuring out how to change that would be outside the scope of the adventure (Magneto *really* didn't want humans running around. Upshot is Gyrich will require an escort at all times to access ANYTHING short of maybe the toilets <insert your own joke here>). He also has basic functional understanding of the personal weapons in the armory ... in that he can point, shoot, and not blow his own head off. I jumped in with the skills update about 10 minutes after his post, sorry))

Gyrich nodded, turning to follow. "Personal inspection." A Geiger counter would have helped, but he had the next best thing -- his own personal radiation detector. "And I don't do slapdash work. It'll take as long as it takes. So I guess you'd better show me where the clutch is."

Evo nodded even as he replied. ~Ah, but with a sensor display like this one has, there's no danger of hitting anything as I surface the ship. Let em show you.~ Then, he brought up the sensor screen he used for navigation, a sonar display that was plenty alone to keep them from hitting anything, but added to it was enough of a display from other methods to show the Olympia and all the other vessels in the area. ~See, and as for controlling the ship, if you can play a video game, you can maneuver the ship.~

Logan turned his usual narrowed gaze on Gyrich in response to his statement. "Well, "slapdash" is all you can expect if ya' have a mind to, cuz we ain't got all day. You wanna forgo inspection, fine by me." With that he followed Cyclops out of the lift. "So can ya' surface this bucket or not?" he asked Scott.

He glanced around the room at every person to be sure they all understood. He was tired, hungry and cranky and that was not a good combination for The Wolverine. He wasn't playing anymore games, he had fragile little patience left and he wanted this situation over.

Chamber's face turned on Crow wondering what she could be thinking. After all, his powers did not go that route. He was unsure if he show even 'talk' to her. Not sure how she would take a voice in her head and so he remained silent. Silent with his own thoughts worrying about the others.

Unless one of the players has a surprise they are holding back, nothing new is going to be introduced here - its too late for plot twists and we need to get people home, so I would really like to get out of this "15 seconds of conversation every week real time" mode. PLEASE! PLEASE! try and find ways to move this thing along
If this thread is still active after the 15th, I will ask the admins if it is appropriate to God-Mod this adventure to get everyone home and safe)).

Logan's brow arched on that one. "You lot??" he echoed, quite willing to let his hunger and impatience lead him into another brawl. But without hesitation, Gyrich continued his course.
His green eyes were hard as stone. "Your word," he said to Logan, then shifted his gaze to Cyclops, "and yours. The time I need to check this ship. Then I make the call."
Logan thought about his options. He didn't like being put over a barrel, but that's where he was. The rest of the X-Men had put him here, in charge of a bunch of green recruits and then just... left him to try to get them out of it. Scott was doing pretty well as far as he could assess at this point. The kid had plenty of leadership potential. He was most certainly a diplomat, much more than Logan was... and he had courage. He still needed more experience, but he was definitely a good choice to take over the new team.
He looked around the room, at all the faces either looking back at him or looking at screens and info on the panels in front of them. Then he looked at Scott. Of the two of them, Scott seemed to be more capable of taking the comm and leading his young crew to get the mission completed.
He, on the other hand, would probably be of more use escorting Gyrich through the ship. Not that he really knew the ship... he didn't, but he was more experienced in one-on-one confrontations than anyone on board, and if Gyrich had any thoughts of double crossing them....
"Ya' have my word," Logan told Gyrich.
"I'll go with him to inspect the ship," he told Cyclops, "You have command o' the bridge. Get us to that island... then get us home." With a quick glance at the soldier, he pinned Scott with a hard look, "No matter what happens... you get 'em home."
He changed out his battered radio for a better one with a fresh charge and hooked it to his belt, positioning the headset, "I'm on one."
Tucking a clip in his waist band, he snatched up one of Gyrich's own weapons and handed the man a compliment of the same. "Let's go," he said with a nod toward the door and headed that way, leaving Cyclops to complete the mission at hand while Wolverine tended to securing their safety enroute.

Cyclops nodded to Evo, his attention divided between the younger man, the rest of the impromptu crew, and the ship itself. His mind kicked into high gear, forming a plan from all the disparate pieces. Despite the two ex-soldiers bristling at each other, rather than just countering individual crises, he found himself finally seeing a way out.
"Ya' have my word," Logan told Gyrich.
"And mine, as well," Scott added. He wished -- and not for the first time -- that he could actually meet the man's eyes. But his injury and the visor it necessitated meant that he would never do that again ... even with Jean. That thought stabbed far deeper than he'd expected.
"I'll go with him to inspect the ship," [Logan] told Cyclops, "You have command o' the bridge. Get us to that island... then get us home." With a quick glance at the soldier, he pinned Scott with a hard look, "No matter what happens... you get 'em home."
"Yes, sir," Scott said, all but snapping to attention. While Wolverine was kitting up and preparing to depart with Nemesis, he headed toward the command console.
"Let's take her up. I'll man sensors ... and shields if we need them.
"Evo, you fly her.
"Storm, we'll need communications, with the fleet, with the Greek military command ... and possibly with the media.
"Kurt, there was some mention of shuttles? See if you and Crow can find them and get them operational. Picking our people up directly with the ship, if it's even possible, would cause quite a ruckus."
He glanced around. Andreas had disappeared back when the shooting started and Wolverine and Nemesis were departing to search the ship.

..Various items; think of a high tech "hall closet". A lot of duplicate items which can be easily pilfered, including nano devices.
Workshop
..A mix of strange and conventional assembly and fabrication equipment. One of these is the nanoforge, but only Evan and Kurt would be able to identify it (introduced in damage control tutorial).

I surface and hydrofoil straight for the island, and take my time, since Gyrich wants to have time to look things over. Of course, if he had been willing to ask, I could have shown him everythign he needed at a console. This thing is amazing what you can do with internal sensors and such. Of course, he never asked.~

As Scott issued orders, Kurt stood up, hands still on the controls as he glimpsed the last bit of knowledge from the auxiliories tutorial. "I don't think there'll be any problem getting this ship to do what we vhant, Herr Cyclops. Ehre, wem Ehre gebührt - I mean, to give credit where it is due, the controls, they are all based off X-Wing Commander. I think - perhaps - Magneto did not want to overly tax the capabilities of his crew." Kurt sniffed with that and made a face. There was still a malingering odor in the air.
He paused just a moment. They were making themselves entirely too comfortable in this place, it wasn't even theirs! Just then, he felt dizzy and grabbed the railings. "I - I just realized something," he said, turning to Wolverine and the crazy psycho army guy with him. "I know this isn't ours to take, but ... I do not think Magneto would allow this to be taken over by humans, he is so strange that way!"
He looked down for a moment. What kind of power was held within this thing?
Turning back to Scott. Was that an impatient look on his face? "Shuttle! Aye aye, sir!" he said, saluting. "I'll take the grav truck, it might not be so obvious and its got room for everyone." With a last flick of the controls, a yellow line became visible on the floor plate, with flashing yellow arrows and an appropriate notation in English. In every occupied space along the way to the grav truck, a wall display would also appear. It would hold ship plans and a dotted course to the desired area.

Scott shook his head. ~Of course he didn't. There would be no point. Pictures on a screen are ridiculously easy to fake. In his shoes, I wouldn't believe them. And don't forget we've already seen the ship act on its own once, even in my shoes I'm not sure I'd believe them.~
Then Kurt's voice caught his attention and Gyrich and Logan at the door.
"I - I just realized something," [Nightcrawler said, turning to Wolverine and the crazy psycho army guy with him. "I know this isn't ours to take, but ... I do not think Magneto would allow this to be taken over by humans, he is so strange that way!"
"Good point," Cyclops said, nodding. "Be careful. There might be ... safeguards."

At the door, Logan paused briefly to make sure he and his reluctant partner were squared away. He wasn't exactly thrilled about the man being armed, but then again so was he. He still wasn't certain how far Nemesis could be trusted, if at all, but if he was on the up-n-up and they did run into trouble there was a chance that he and Gyrich could watch each others' backs. It was either that or the man was already working out a plan to turn the weapon on him... He pushed that thought aside as Cyclops voiced a warning, advising them to be careful.
Logan straightened slightly, his head cocking to one side a bit as he raised an eyebrow at Summers. He was always careful. So careful most times that he'd often - quite often - been accused of being paranoid.
With that thought he gave a little sniff and shrugged inwardly. As far as he was concerned the line separating "careful" and "paranoid" was so thin they may as well be reflections of each other in a mirror.
"After you," he invited Gyrich to exit first when the door slid open. Once they'd stepped through, both men paused, scanning the area that lay before them. "So. Where d'ya' wanna start?"

Chamber had looked over at Kurt wondering. He got to his feet to join him,
*Well, I'm pretty much ready to leave this place. I haven't felt right since we got here.*
And it was Chamber, for some reason this mission had that feeling of wrongness to it though they had helped a lot of people escape but to Chamber it still didn't seem right.
There was so much that he had to mull over in his mind and once they were back at the mansion, he could do just that.
*So, will we be leaving soon though soon for me, is not so at the moment.*
Background: Many, many years ago, Charles Francis Xavier established Xavier's School for the Gifted. Also, seeing other Mutants misusing and abusing their powers, he created the first generation of the X-Men.This original team was trained and lead by an old friend of his...Logan, aka Wolverine. Logan's co-leader was a young woman and student named Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Once the team was trained and fielded on active missions, they took on the additional responsibility of teaching and helping new Mutants deal with their powers.On one horrible night, the X-Men were fielded to stop a particularly powerful Mutant and his 'gang'. The 'intelligence' received on this Mutant and his cohorts was sketchy and actually turned out to be a set-up to entrap the X-Men and take them captive. In the ensuing melee', 'things' happened and a number of the team were killed outright or severely injured.After making sure his remaining team-mates were going to be okay, Logan left. Xavier has not, to current time, explained his absence or even whether or not he survived.Current Time/Game Time: Almost seven years later, as Human/Mutant incidents are on the rise, Xavier once again sees a need for a Mutant 'police force'. He sees this new X-Men team as a force for good and a way to help peacefully integrate the rapidly emerging Mutant society with the established Human society. To this end, he has contacted Logan and asked him to 'come home' and train his 'new' team.
Logan has reluctantly agreed.Can shadows from their past be put aside for the good of the new X-Men? How will the surviving members of the original team react and what will they do as 'truths' are learned about that disastrous night?Note: We want the new X-Men to include younger versions of the old familiar characters such as Scott, Jean, Beast etc...as well as many of the OCC’s and other Canon characters that are available.Please ask the Staff BEFORE stating or establishing that your character was one of the old, now disbanded, original X-Men.
