As the name indicates...this RPG will revolve around Crossroads and New Beginnings.CrossroadsWe would like to see characters come to a 'crossroads' in their lives where important and life changing decisions have to be made. These events can be very personal...i.e. a relationship beginning, ending or changing, or they can be moral or spiritual. Whatever is decided, they should show 'growth' for your character.New BeginningsThis can be any number of items as well and most likely will relate back to the 'crossroads' in your character(s)' life or lives and/or career. They may be starting a new career as teacher or student at Xavier's School for the Gifted or may have been selected to train for the upcoming X-Men team(s). Their 'new beginning' once again may be as simple as establishing a new relationship or changes in an old one.

"Petite, yo’ be alrigh’?" he called, red-on-black eyes focusing through the haze within the room. "Chamber, yo’ be soundin’ of’ to’. Where yo’ be?"
Rogue peered up at Gambit through her messed up hair that was currently in her face - her ponytail holder had long since broken after Creed's tugging on it. She tucked the majority of it behind her ears and gave her savior a weak smile. "Yeah... Ah'm alright, Ah think..." she said, getting up slowly.
After Rogue had stood up, she was in fact feeling much better. Especially now that Creed seemed to be gone. "Thank ya... Ya know, fer gettin' rid of Sabretooh..." she said, having eyes only for Remy.
"Ah'm Rogue..." she said, remembering her manners.

Re: Olympia/Mess Hall/Chamber/Tags: Gambit
The power ended, Chamber stood there shaking his head. Only once before had he done that and that was when his powers first manifested. For some reason he felt stronger but in fact was not.
*I've never used it before now. The only time I did was an accident, when it first manifested. Sorry about that Gambit.*
Chamber felt ashamed at what happened. He hoped Sabertooth was all right but there was no recourse really. He had to help them out. And this was the only way.
Re: Olympia/Bow, Deck/Crow/Tags: Mana, Angel, Force, Magma,
Staying still for nearly a minute, Crow gave a quick mental assessment on her situation. She didn't manage to injure herself too badly, although she's have some nasty bruises in a while. Her fur was a little singed, but that was to be expected. Most surprising, however, was that no one seemed to notice her. Granted, she was a dog, but they, of all people, should have noticed something wrong. Perhaps she was overestimating them. If her information was correct, the teams were mostly new people, and the experienced ones had been inactive for a few years. Yes, that had to be it.
Shifting slowly to a fly--she didn't want too much movement to be seen--she took to the air, following silently behind the flying Angel. She had already managed to prove there wasn't much she could do on her own, but she could definitely clean up. With the types of people they had, they would miss things. And those...well, those were the things Crow had been doing for the better part of her life.
Landing on a railing as the group stopped, Miri let out a mental sigh of relief. The high temperatures and sprinklers of their previous spot had been starting to make a little insect edgy. She watched Angel fly out over the water, rescuing people...and missing one. Her brain froze. She couldn't point out to him that he missed a person, and it was nearly as impossible for her to get him herself. What to--she gave herself a mental smack. He's in the ocean, genius. Last I checked, stuff lived there.
Her attention straying from the victim himself, she spread them outward, searching for something to help. Eel, no; squid, no; shark, NO; dolphin...hm. Nearly half a mile away, a small pod of Risso's dolphins wandered surprisingly close to shore. Cliché, perhaps, but they would definitely work.
A silent call sent them shooting over and in the water, swimming at a speed the teen was slightly envious of. In a short few minutes, two of the cetaceans were supporting the man; in another, he was floating by the side of one of the rescue boats, his rescuers already gone.

Whale: *tag Jean or anyone with mental link*
Once Storm made sure it was successfully building, she made her way to the deck. *If I remember right part of it's on top of the water? If not feel free to correct me. I just need to get outside to see what I'm doing.*
The wind was stirring up nicely. Thunder could be heard in the distance. She stood there, looking up at the sky, "Good." she nodded.
'Now then....' at her command the skies darkened slowly and down came the rain. Nothing heavy, yet, anyway. She needed to know what was going on, on the ship.
*Jean...what is happening now?* she thought to her.
Re: Logan hunting for generator room, Jean
(OOC:Jean moved with permission)
Logan ran down the ship's stairwells at a pretty good clip, reminding Jean that the Canadian's build belies great agility and speed. He descended into the bowels of the ship, listening to the ruckus from above, trying to remain focused on his own objective before putting his thoughts toward the goings on around them. "I'll have you know there are at least four different ways of disablin' those generators, all we gotta do now is find 'em.
"We should be able to shut down the primary power source and still be able to keep power to the Casualty Systems onboard, that'll allow us to keep the ship afloat and steer it outta danger if necessary," he mentioned as he vaulted over a mound of debris at the bottom of one of the stairwells and turned the corner quickly to race down the next one, "We should probably keep the fire suppression systems up too. Ya' just never know... ya' know?"
He barely registered Jean's response when he asked rhetorically aloud, "Why am I telln' YOU this?" She probably knew more about technological power sources than he did. Even so, Logan kept rambling aloud to keep himself focused on the objective, for his animal was pushing him hard to go topside and join the fight. "We could, however disable them by parallelling their feeds if their phase rotations are different... o' course the same would work if the voltage output differs too..."
When he got to the bottom of the next stairwell, the sound of the large bulkhead doors coming down checked him up as he tried to discern from which direction the sound was coming from. 'Dammit,' he cursed inwardly then activated his comlink to the rest of the team, "What the hell's goin' on up there? We got bulkheads securing and blocking our way to the generator room! Everythin' under control up there?"
As he ran down the Crew Passage he came up on one of the huge steel doors blocking their ingress, a low growl rumbled from his throat as he sneered at the heavy metal. Logan threw a glance to Jean who came up behind him, then turned toward the steel bulkhead and sighed heavily.
Releasing his claws, he carved a large hole in it with a low growl, allowing his own frustration to show a bit. The opening was large enough for the two of them to duck into without getting snagged on the sharp, jagged edges and they quickly proceeded down toward the generator room.
As he moved along at a quick but easy pace, Logan continued to mutter his thoughts aloud, "A magnetic field interference would also disable them, the only problem is .. we don't got one o' those onboard with us... and we dont really know how many generators are actually onboard, do we? Most ships only have two emergency power supply gens, but if power is suddenly lost to the Ship's Service Distribution System then the Emergency Power DisSys is gonna turn over those two huge diesel generators... and if there're anymore o' them, we'll hafta find 'em and disable 'em manually or by the switchboard, if we can find it.... o' course we can still maintain the Casualty Power supply from the service switchboard AND the emergency generator switchboard... we could do the entire thing manually and still be able to bring power back up later if we had to..."
Logan turned another corner with Jean right on his heels, then he checked up suddenly and she almost ran into the back of him. He turned his head with a frown, right and then left, then pointed past her right shoulder. He pushed past her and detoured his path, moving across the passageway and down a side corridor to another stairwell, which he seemed to float down as he moved along at a quick pace, his eyes constantly scanning, his ears picking up the sounds of battle from above them, his nose picking up the stench of explosive materials. The last place he wanted to be if this bucket sank to the bottom of the sea was amidship...in the belly of the damned beast.
That thought didn't set real well with him and his lip curled unaware. He continued to rattle on to Jean, absently, "O' course we gotta remember too, we got fuses we can deal with... we might be able to accomplish the entire shutdown just by throwin' the fuse switch.. open the circuit and voila."
Suddenly he slowed to a stop and stood in the passageway grinning wolfishly at a door with a sign reading Emergency Power Generator Room. Logan opened the door and stepped in, looking around thoughtfully, "The only problem there might be with that, though, and I'm not sure about this, but .. and this is a big 'but'... if the Automatic Bus Transfer senses a loss of power from the main source it'll switch over to the alternate source, which are these generators.. and it transfers that energy pretty freakin' fast..."
With a final look around the room, his body actually turning slowly taking in every piece of electrical supply cords, cables and conduits, then he looked at Jean and quirked a brow at her with a dark, wolfish grin. "Nahhh," he growled out with dark humor and with a sound of metal sliding against metal, Logan released his claws.
They shot out from his knuckles with blinding speed and just as quickly he dispatched both diesel generators and their energy transfer cables. Then he turned to his companion with a huge grin on his face, his eyes sparking with deadly glee. "Easier than I thought... c'mon, let's go!" He slipped past her and raced back up the passageways and stairwells they'd just come down. Now and again, he had to detour due to falling or fallen debris, but all stairwells lead to the surface so he just followed his nose.

Re: Olympia/Bow, Deck/Force,Magma/Tags: Mana, Angel,etc
Magma had been busily helping the wounded though she had no idea how to go about it. it would seem that Force knew more about first aid than did she.
She would have liked to get in on some action but well, she couldn't...yet.
<Wonder where Angel and Mana are?> Magma thought, her gaze moving around.
Force, helping the wounded with the supplies she had before realizing that wounded were all around her.
<Good thing I know something about first aid or else I would be lost.> she thought helping a female with a burn wound on her forearm. <Though I will be ready with my forceshields in case these people are endangered.>
Re: Logan hunting for generator room, Jean'Well, he can't undo anythin' if he's dead...' the Wolverine gnashed his teeth with one thought in mind as he raced topside via the interior stairwell. There was more than one way to skin a cat... or disable a generator, permanently. If 'conduit boy' was the only thing standin' in the way of savin' hundreds of lives, well then... 'the good o' the many outweighs the good o' the few, or the one'... he thought with a vicious sneer, he always did like that phrase.
OlympiaStern-ish Area/Evo/Tags: Nightcrawler, Scott, etc
It had taken him some time to get back to his original arrival point, especially with the changes Sabretooth had caused, but Evan finally made it as close as he could to that point. ~Nightcrawler, I need my 'shell' back on the Olympia. With bulkheads in the way, we may need the strength my powers can give.~ he called telepathically. He would step into the shell the instant Nightcrawler brought it, and take the same path he had as Wisp to get back to the bulkhead. Then, he'd use the strongman form he'd found he could take to get past the bulkhead blocking the way to Engineering. If need be, he'd take every form he had so far to get to the mutants. That was the mission he had been given, so he would do it.
Re: Olympia/Mess Hall/Scott/Tags: All There
Once Evo's defenseless shell had been taken to safety on the Whale, Cyclops checked to be sure Karina and Scarlet Witch were with him, then strode rapidly down the corridor toward the mess hall. ~"Gambit, Evo, respond!"~ he spoke/sent. ~"What is going on?"~
Pausing at the doorway long enough to scan the room and the situation, he stepped inside.
Re: Olympia/Mess Hall/Karina,Scarlet Witch/Tags: All There
Karina had been following close behind Scott. She didn't want to lose him. After all, she tended to get lost a lot, hence her decision to stay near or rather eye level to those she knew.
Now what could be going on here? she thought.
Scarlet Witch stared around wondering. She kept Scott in sight herself though she was wondering where the real trouble was.
His partly gloved hands reached to help Rogue to her feet, red-on-black eyes taking note of the way she was looking at him, some voice in his head going, ~Yeah, dere be de look. Tres bon, Mon'ami! Nex’ de petite will be fallin’ at yo’ feet like all de oth’rs,~ there was some maliciousness in that thought, something Remy couldn’t help but notice, the frown crossing his face as he looked around for Chamber.
"Thank ya... Ya know, fer gettin' rid of Sabretooth..." she said, having eyes only for Remy.
"Ah'm Rogue..." she said, remembering her manners.
“De name’s Gambit, Cherie,” he told her, looking back at her, a different kind of frown on his face. If there was one thing the Cajun did not like it was seeing any female of the species with such fear and worry in their eyes as this one had.
And if there was one thing he did like, it was being the one to help get rid of those emotions.
Taking her hand in his, he kissed the top of it, “Dere be non need t’ worry, Mon Chere, de o’ergrown mutan’ cat be gone now. Remy be protectin’ yo’,” cocky and suave, as always, the glint in his eyes making the glow in them darken.
And, of course, Cyclops’ entrance had to spoil everything, Remy standing up straight, that glint turning to a somewhat disapproving glare, gaze moving to look at the leader he had been put under.
“One o’ de problems be takin’ care o’,” he announced, Jonothon now in his sights. “Chamber, yo’ be comin’ o’er ‘ere, an’ dere be non need t’ be apologisin’. I be askin’ yo’ t’ use yo’ powers.”
Re: Olympia/Mess Hall/Rogue/Tags: All There
Rogue was astounded at Gambit's chilvary. He was so sweet... And, she felt so safe being near him. Her eyes glittered as she stared into his, mostly oblivious to everyone else around her.
Taking her hand in his, he kissed the top of it, “Dere be non need t’ worry, Mon Chere, de o’ergrown mutan’ cat be gone now. Remy be protectin’ yo’,” cocky and suave, as always, the glint in his eyes making the glow in them darken.
Rogue shuddered a little bit at the mention of Sabretooth. She knew he was hard to kill, and they had likely not seen the last of him... He was out there... Somewhere... And, he was after her.
"Thank ya, Sugah..." she said, blushing a bit.
Then, she heard him address others. She'd temporarily forgotten where they were and who was all there. Rogue turned to face the rest of them, looking to see if they were going to view her as a threat or not...
Re: Olympia/Mess Hall/Karina,Scarlet Witch/Tags: All There
Once Nightcrawler had brought the shell, Evo had returned to human, then to his more massive strength-based form. He then made his way back towards the bulkhead. ~Cyclops, I'm returning to the bulkhead that kept me from getting to the mutants. Now that I've got the strength, I'm not going to be stopped by a metal door. Gambit's not in the link, if I remember right.~ Even as he moved, the deck shook slightly, but only slow movement occured as yet, with his more massive form moving only slowly.
Re: Re:Gambit/ Mess Hall/Tags: Rogue, Cyclops, Chamber, etcAnd, of course, Cyclops’ entrance had to spoil everything, Remy standing up straight, that glint turning to a somewhat disapproving glare, gaze moving to look at the leader he had been put under.
Though his expression was hard to read behind the visor, Cyclops appeared completely unfazed by Gambit's disgruntlement. He turned his head to continue scanning the room, taking in Chamber, Gambit & Rogue, and the hole in the wall.
"Well done," he said. "Though in future, do not go haring off on your own, and stay in contact."
Then, she heard him address others. She'd temporarily forgotten where they were and who was all there. Rogue turned to face the rest of them, looking to see if they were going to view her as a threat or not...
His crimson gaze moved directly to the two southerners, who seemed to be all but cuddling. Cripes, he thought, this is a rescue mission, not the Dating Game. It was already complicated enough without the addition of that and some kind of internicine Brotherhood dispute.
Still and all, as bad as Rogue's reputation was, Sabretooth's was far worse. And Scott had a visceral dislike of seeing anyone abused that way. For a moment he debated, but the wary desperation in her eyes decided him.
"Rogue," Cyclops said, "we're here to save the people on this ship, human and mutant. You can either join us and help us or you're free to go."

Re: Re:Chamber/ Mess Hall/Tags: Rogue, Cyclops, etc
Chamber slowly moved over to where the two were, still shaking his head.
*That was not it Gambit. I...*
He turned away at that. His gaze happened to fall on the exit of Sabertooth.
*I just hope he's not hurt too badly.*
He turned at Scott's voice,
*Sorry bout that. Thought Gambit needed a bit of backup.*
Re: Olympia/MessHall/Gambit/Tags: Cyclops/Rogue, etc"Thank ya, Sugah..." she said, blushing a bit.
“Again, it be mah pleas’re,” the Cajun replied, eyes turning back to look at Cyclops, as the man began to speak.
"Well done," he said. "Though in future, do not go haring off on your own, and stay in contact."
“Be a bit har’ t’ do dat when yo’ be bein’ attacked by an ov’rgrown cat,” Remy answered, tempted to add in that he would go wherever, whenever he wanted, but resisted the urge to start an argument, especially with someone whose power came out of their eyes; who could blow him back through the hole Sabretooth made just by looking at him.
*That was not it Gambit. I...* shuddering, Remy glanced at Chamber. He realised that was the only way the kid could speak, in his mind, but that didn’t mean the thief had to like it.
At least Jonothon couldn’t read what was hidden ther... now that was something he would never allow, although, since meeting Mana, perhaps one day he may let her into his head. Never would it be fully, though, because there were many deep, dark things Remy Etienne LeBeau never wanted anyone to find out.
Moving Topside / Tag: Logan and 'Link'They shot out from his (Wolverine's) knuckles with blinding speed and just as quickly he dispatched both diesel generators and their energy transfer cables.
Jean stepped gingerly away from the ruins of the two massiver generators, her bottle green eyes still wide. She had been trying to follow Logan's technical ramblings and maintain communications in the link and was more than slightly startled when the talking stopped and the slashing began.
'Note to self,' Jean mumbled quietly, 'do NOT annoy man with claws.'
Jean doubled her speed so that she could keep up with the fast moving Wolverine. Tagging all in the link, Jean filtered the information regarding the disabling of the generators to them...again being careful to not intrude and distract anyone from a dangerous situation.
~Storm, please relay to those that need to know on the Whale that the main generators have been disabled.~
Jean skidded around the corner, finally catching completely up to Logan. She wanted to ask where they were heading but thought just maybe now was not a good time.
"Uh...Wolverine," she remembered him cautioning them to avoid the use of given names in the briefing, "do you...uh...we...have a plan?"
Re: Re:Chamber/ Mess Hall/Tags: Rogue, Cyclops, etc
~Alright Jean. The storm is beginning to pick up. I will relay the message to Eric.~ she thought.
*No clue who is playing Eric, or where he's at, at the moment. So whoever is playing him, assume Storm has let him know please.*
She had left and found Eric, telling him about the generators. The rain was coming down in sheets now. She didn't have to worry about controlling it any farther at this point.
Walking back out onto the deck she looked over to the other ship to see what she could see.
Re: Olympia/MessHall/Gambit/Tags: Cyclops/Rogue, etc"Rogue," Cyclops said, "we're here to save the people on this ship, human and mutant. You can either join us and help us or you're free to go."
::Oh, geez... Mr. Serious, huh?:: Rogue thought as she listened to Cyclops' mini speech and compared it to Gambit's lovely words.
"Uh... Ah'd prefer ta stay an' help out, if that's alright... Ah... Ah don't really have anywhere ta go..." she said in a soft voice. "Umm... What should Ah do?"
Re: Olympia:Injured Release Area/Mana/Tag:Crow/Angel, etc
All she wanted to do was sit back and take a break, so many injured still in need of her attention; that was something she could not do. Ramana Michelle Cavanagh, aka Mana, was mentally and physically exhausted, even though her regenerative powers had all but repaired the wounds she had taken on from those she had been able to heal.
Jean’s metal message about the generators reached her tired mind, making the young woman open eyes that she had closed for barely a second after setting the last hostage’s arm; the last one she had attended to anyway. She was pleased, but she was also worried, especially considering the newest friend in her life was not a part of the mind link. Who knew where he was and what he was facing?
Then again, she was worried about all of them. Not only were her original team mates coming back into the field after ages being out of it, there were new, and very young, members on this mission too, although having Karina and Force with her, where she could easily see and keep an eye on them, did help to quell that fear somewhat.
She was also proud of the way the two teens had been quick to follow her orders, and how much work they had already done when, clearly, this wasn’t exactly an easy, every day job for them to do.
Her eyes now focused on the sea surface below, Mana watched Angel do one final sweep over where many passengers had once been flailing in the water, catching something rather odd out of the corner of her eyes.
A silent call sent them shooting over and in the water, swimming at a speed the teen was slightly envious of. In a short few minutes, two of the cetaceans were supporting the man; in another, he was floating by the side of one of the rescue boats, his rescuers already gone.
~What…~ her thoughts were interrupted by the need to let Angel know someone was still out there, motioning to him, pointing towards the man, eyes wide with concern. Then the wondering began. She had heard of stories of dolphins helping people who were drowning, but this seemed a little too coordinated for that. Looking around, she said, “Ok, so that is not something you see every day. Who’s doing that?” she sent this as a mind message too, along the link, just in case there was someone within it she didn’t realise was there.
Background: Many, many years ago, Charles Francis Xavier established Xavier's School for the Gifted. Also, seeing other Mutants misusing and abusing their powers, he created the first generation of the X-Men.This original team was trained and lead by an old friend of his...Logan, aka Wolverine. Logan's co-leader was a young woman and student named Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Once the team was trained and fielded on active missions, they took on the additional responsibility of teaching and helping new Mutants deal with their powers. On one horrible night, the X-Men were fielded to stop a particularly powerful Mutant and his 'gang'. The 'intelligence' received on this Mutant and his cohorts was sketchy and actually turned out to be a set-up to entrap the X-Men and take them captive. In the ensuing melee', 'things' happened and a number of the team were killed outright or severely injured. After making sure his remaining team-mates were going to be okay, Logan left. Xavier has not, to current time, explained his absence or even whether or not he survived.Current Time/Game Time: Almost seven years later, as Human/Mutant incidents are on the rise, Xavier once again sees a need for a Mutant 'police force'. He sees this new X-Men team as a force for good and a way to help peacefully integrate the rapidly emerging Mutant society with the established Human society. To this end, he has contacted Logan and asked him to 'come home' and train his 'new' team.
Logan has reluctantly agreed. Can shadows from their past be put aside for the good of the new X-Men? How will the surviving members of the original team react and what will they do as 'truths' are learned about that disastrous night?Note: We want the new X-Men to include younger versions of the old familiar characters such as Scott, Jean, Beast etc...as well as many of the OCC’s and other Canon characters that are available. Please ask the Staff BEFORE stating or establishing that your character was one of the old, now disbanded, original X-Men.
