As the name indicates...this RPG will revolve around Crossroads and New Beginnings.CrossroadsWe would like to see characters come to a 'crossroads' in their lives where important and life changing decisions have to be made. These events can be very personal...i.e. a relationship beginning, ending or changing, or they can be moral or spiritual. Whatever is decided, they should show 'growth' for your character.New BeginningsThis can be any number of items as well and most likely will relate back to the 'crossroads' in your character(s)' life or lives and/or career. They may be starting a new career as teacher or student at Xavier's School for the Gifted or may have been selected to train for the upcoming X-Men team(s). Their 'new beginning' once again may be as simple as establishing a new relationship or changes in an old one.

Who: Scott With: Evo, sorta When: May 14th, 2006: 1-2:00pm-ish Where: Jonah’s Whale – Armory
After his talk with Jean, Scott left her studying the Medical Bay and moved on to something he could understand -- the Armory.
He'd given it a cursorial look-over the previous night, impressed by the size and apparent variety of the weaponry stored there, but now it was time for a closer look. Settling in, he began methodically cataloging. The arms he could identify he listed by name, the rest he had to content himself with educated guesses.
As he worked, both his awe and dismay at the lethality contained in just that one room grew. If there had been any ABC armaments Nemesis had taken them, but what remained was bad enough and he hated to think what conclusions the commando would have drawn from the arsenal.
He also hated to think what would happen if one of the students, who mostly didn't know an AR-15 from a Super-Soaker, got his or her hands on one of those bits of weaponry. Emerging from the armory at last, he called up to the Bridge. "Evo, is there some way to secure the Armory from just any access? There's too much firepower in there to chance running loose." Summary: Scott does guns. Tags: Evo, those on bridge. Also, Jean (for the long-awaited reply).
Re: Afternoon Jonah's Whale InspectionFeaturing: Evo With: Cyclops, sorta When: May 14th, 2006: 1-2:00pm-ish Where: Jonah’s Whale-bridge
Evo heard Cyclops' question and smiled. "I believe I can identity lock the Armory door. I am, of course, already familiar with the contents, but would prefer not to use them. You, I, and those on board would have access, but others would not unless one of us opened it for them." He was sure that he could do that much, what with internal sensors. He might be wrong, but he'd do his best to do as he said. "It would take time to do so, but I'll see if the systems here will accept that limitation. If not, then I'd reccommend storing them in the mansion, in a safe place."
Summary: Evo does computer work Tags: Cyclops

Re: Afternoon Jonah's Whale InspectionWho: Gambit, Pyro, Sage When: Sunday May 14th 2006, 7:30 onwards Where: Jonah's Whale Control Room OOC: JP between Mana (Gambit/Pyro) & Fi (Sage).
Quote:"It's a possible scenario.” Shaking her head slightly, she looked up at the red and black eyes of the mutant standing next to her. "Gambit, what more were you told about this ship?" she asked, anger clear in her eyes, anger at the plans in this document, anger at not being given more information on the ship, anger that they were always to be hunted.
Of course, Gambit misconstrued that clear anger in the Cyberpath’s eyes as being directed at him, his rather cold reply showing her exactly how he felt about that fact, “Wha’ exactly yo’be implyin’ dere, Petit?”
~O oh,~ Pyro thought, not needing to have known Remy that long to recognise such a look as being one not to be messed with. ~If they start arguing, I am outta here. I may be curious, but I ain't THAT curious.~
Sage returned his cold question with a level look, the anger fading as she regained control over her emotions once more. "I meant no offence to you, Gambit." she replied carefully. "I merely would like to know more about the ship, as I was not told a great deal. I fear that these documents may reveal the already there are movements in the government to find an way of quarantining mutants," she informed the Cajun, lowering her voice slightly.
“Cher, yo’ be knowin’ bou’ as much as me at dis ‘ere poin‘, I no’ be aroun’ when dis ting be board’d. I be on de mainlan‘, babesittin’ mah team,” he held back from sounding annoyed, or less than impressed with the attitude of one particular person on that team, this not being the time to complain or bring up that fact. Noticing John was also reading the information over his shoulder, he was quick to casually manoeuvre it into one of the many pockets of his trench coat, all done in a way that wouldn’t even give the slightest hint that he was trying to stop the flame manipulator from reading it.
“Hey, I was reading that!” John protested, sounding about ten years younger than he actually was.
“Dis no’ be f’r us t’ be readin‘, Mon’ami,” was all the Cajun replied to him, red-on-black eyes falling back on Sage, “Dere always be someone in de govn’men’ tryin’ to find some way t’ be getting’ t’ us, Cheri,” he paused, thinking back over what he’d just read, “Bu’ I no’ be likin’ dis one little bit... Sometin’ maj’r be up, an’ we ‘ave t’ be findin’ ou’ wha’ b’fore it be t’o late.”
Sage watched Remy carefully as he spoke, noting the frustration in his voice as he spoke of the mission yesterday, and the exact pocket he put the document in. Instead of answering the first part of his speech, she slipped on her cyber glasses as Pyro protested Remy's hiding of the document. She immediately began cross referencing as many names as she could from the list before speaking.
"You're correct Remy, there is always someone after us, but this time it seems that they are quite a few steps closer than before," Sage said, a slight frown creasing her forehead as the results from her search came up. "I believe that we should share this with Scott Summers and no one else," she added, as the results continued to flash behind her glasses.
“I be b’lievin’ dat yo’ be righ‘,” was all the Cajun responded with, red-on-black eyes not missing the very worried look that suddenly came over his flame manipulating friend’s face.
Quote:Jolting herself awake, sitting upright in the bed, it took the telepath a few moments to realize where she was. Shaking as she hugged a pillow to her chest, she reached a telepathic tendril to her husband. *John?* she asked meekly, her voice childlike.
Something was wrong, seriously wrong, with his girl, the fact she was now his wife, and pregnant, meaning the link they shared had simply gotten stronger over the years… dreaming, yeah, she was dreaming about… ~Oh no,~ he thought, recognising the images his mind was able to catch.
“Listen guys, I gotta head off, something’s come up,” he said, looking at both Sage and Gambit briefly before turning on his heal and already starting to walk out.
Watching him go, Remy raised an eyebrow, ~Mus’ be imp’rtan‘,~ he thought.
*Baby, I’m comin‘, just,* Pyro’s thought-speak to his wife was almost pleading, *Don’t do anything stupid,* it wasn’t meant in a derogatory way, it was simply said because he knew what these types of emotions could make one do, he’d been through it himself, over and over, and would always regret the things he had done; the decisions he had made…
“I tink it be nearly time f’r me t’ be leavinï’ t’o, Cher, I be havin’ sev'ral meetin's t’ be gettin’ t’ dis aft’rnoon,” he informed the Cyberpath, a small smirk on his face as he watched her be all Sage-like, something he was quite fond of actually.
Sage watched Pyro leave the Whale with some interest, by the looks of things he had been contacted by a telepath. She wondered what it was about, but focused back on more immediate matters as Gambit spoke to her, noticing the smile on his face and feeling slightly wary of it.
"Of course," Sage replied smoothly, looking hard at Remy for a moment, "I shall stay around and keep investigating. We should meet up later to discuss things once you have finished with your meetings," she suggested, as she crouched down to inspect the wall for further hidden drawers and files.
Red-on-black eyes held… something… as he looked towards Sage, listened to her, then watched her crouch down, ~If’n only yo’ be more open,~ he thought, before turning to walk away. ~Why de sexy ones alw’ys gotta be so stoic?~ he asked himself, disappearing out into the bowls of the ship, his target, the turbo lift, and the mansion grounds beyond.
Summary: Gambit, Sage and Pyro continue to search the Jonah’s Whale control room, several documents are found in a hidden compartment, hidden yet obvious at the same time. Pyro excuses himself after getting a message form his wife via the link they share, and Gambit uses this distraction to also leave the ship… Sage remaining to do some more investigating.

Evo: "It would take time to do so, but I'll see if the systems here will accept that limitation. If not, then I'd reccommend storing them in the mansion, in a safe place."
"Copy that," Scott replied, then clarified: "I agree."
Pausing for a few moments, he looked around, considering what to do next. Insufficient data, he decided. He didn't know the shape of things yet, and it was time to rectify that.
After taking another few seconds to tuck the armory inventory away, he contacted Evo again. "I'm done down here and heading up to join you. How are the others doing, do you know?" Tag: Evo
Re: Afternoon Jonah's Whale InspectionFeaturing: Evo With: Scott When: May 14th, 2006: 1-2:00pm-ish Where: Jonah’s Whale-bridge
Evo smiled at Scott's quetion. "Scanners show Sage still looking things over, Jean still in Med Bay, and Gambit and Pyro are both no longer on board the Whale. That leaves you in the Armory. Other than that, I'd have to ask them for a sitrep myself to be able to tell you anything. Now, if you ask about the ship's fabrication equipment, I could tell you a lot, but how things are going with the others, they'd be able to tell you more."

Scott joined Evo a short time later, long legs carrying him rapidly through doors that whisked open before him and shut behind. "The more I see of this ship," he said as he entered, "the more impressed -- and alarmed -- I become."
His crimson glasses winked in the light as he looked around, scanning the room even though he'd seen it several times before. "You mentioned fabricators?" Tag: Evo, open to Sage
Re: Afternoon Jonah's Whale InspectionFeaturing: Evo With: Cyclops When: May 14th, 2006: 1-2:00pm-ish Where: Jonah’s Whale-bridge
Evan nodded to the teacher. "Yep. According to the computer, they're called nanofabricators, and they actually supply everything from Life Support to just about everything else on the ship, including spare parts, if I understand this stuff right. We're talking where if I wanted to, I could use a level 3 electronics fabricator to build a huge TV. 16 kilograms per minute is the limit on that level of fabricator. What you can build, how big it can be, that's decided by the type and level of the fabricator, but we could probably even make you a hundred visors with the right fabricator, even with the ruby quartz I heard you have to have."

Scott looked thoughtful, unconsciously rubbing his temple above his crimson glasses. After a long moment, he smiled ruefully. "Hopefully so many won't be necessary, though it would be good to have a backup or three." His mind raced on ahead to other possibilities. "How long does it require?" Tag: Evo
Re: Afternoon Jonah's Whale InspectionFeaturing: Evo With: Cyclops When: May 14th, 2006: 1-2:00pm-ish Where: Jonah’s Whale-bridge
Evo looked thoughtful for a minute, "Well, if we can find a class two general purpose replicator, since I'm sure that would be able to do it, then I'd say three minutes would be about right once I figure out how to program it to replicate the visors."
Then, he tapped a few eyes, and grinned. "And we've got a level three general purpose nanofabricator in the science labs. Once we get there, we just program it, and you've got your backup visors in minutes, especially since the only reason for it to take that long will be doing them separately."
Re: Afternoon Jonah's Whale Inspection Who: Sage With: Evo and Scott Where: Jonah's Whale - corridor and then bridge When: May 14th, 2006: 1-2:00pm-ish Sage had spent the better part of her time since Gambit's departure up linked to the internet, finding out anything and everything she could about the names, referenced and inferences from the document she had read. Once she had left the craft, she would type up a copy to give to Scott Summers to inspect, she had a feeling that he would be able to shed extra light on the proceedings. And as she had always relied on her judgement, she was fairly confident that showing the documentation to the other X-Men would pay off.
Now, though she had traced the bio-signatures of the other mutants aboard the ship and she had arrived on the bridge time to catch the end of Evo's sentence.
Nodding to the two men in greeting she took advantage of the break in conversation to break in "I apologise for the interruption. I trust that you have found something of interest?" she asked, a slight inflection of humour entering her voice, after all who could not find the ship and all within it fascinating? Turning her bright blue eyes to Scott, she focused her next words on him.
"Gambit and I found some interesting documentation hidden in 'secret' panels. I believe that whatever Magneto was planning, goes way beyond anything we have previously seen" she explained, her tone grim and her pale features schooled to stillness as she was careful to avoid the rage that previously surfaced during her conversation with Gambit. The combination of Magneto's name and the grim set to Sage's lips made Scott frown with concern. This sounded like something the Professor needed to hear about -- yesterday, if not sooner. Along with the ship's capabilities, and what Jean was able to suss out about it, and ...
He sighed, rubbing his temples above the ruby quartz shades he wore.
Evan nodded at Sage's comment about finding something interesting. "This ship has manufacturing systems capable of making just about anything. Scott considered, juggling priorities. After a moment, he said, "I've got a list of the ship's armaments and the weapons in the armory and Evo knows the fabricators back-to-front. We need to get that information, and yours, to the Professor. And we're due at a meeting ... " he glanced at his watch, "very soon. Tessa ... can you assemble what we've all learned into a concise report for the Professor?" OOC: Trying to reconcile the various timelines and wrap up this thread. It actually takes place before the 'cruise ship meeting,' which takes place before the 'catching Wisdom meeting,' so the telepathic summons issued after the 'catching Wisdom' meeting probably shouldn't be in this thread. I think.

Re: Afternoon Jonah's Whale InspectionReserved for a Sage reply
OS >> You're right, I realised after posting that it wasn't meant to be in this thread. Will edit.
Background: Many, many years ago, Charles Francis Xavier established Xavier's School for the Gifted. Also, seeing other Mutants misusing and abusing their powers, he created the first generation of the X-Men.This original team was trained and lead by an old friend of his...Logan, aka Wolverine. Logan's co-leader was a young woman and student named Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Once the team was trained and fielded on active missions, they took on the additional responsibility of teaching and helping new Mutants deal with their powers. On one horrible night, the X-Men were fielded to stop a particularly powerful Mutant and his 'gang'. The 'intelligence' received on this Mutant and his cohorts was sketchy and actually turned out to be a set-up to entrap the X-Men and take them captive. In the ensuing melee', 'things' happened and a number of the team were killed outright or severely injured. After making sure his remaining team-mates were going to be okay, Logan left. Xavier has not, to current time, explained his absence or even whether or not he survived.Current Time/Game Time: Almost seven years later, as Human/Mutant incidents are on the rise, Xavier once again sees a need for a Mutant 'police force'. He sees this new X-Men team as a force for good and a way to help peacefully integrate the rapidly emerging Mutant society with the established Human society. To this end, he has contacted Logan and asked him to 'come home' and train his 'new' team.
Logan has reluctantly agreed. Can shadows from their past be put aside for the good of the new X-Men? How will the surviving members of the original team react and what will they do as 'truths' are learned about that disastrous night?Note: We want the new X-Men to include younger versions of the old familiar characters such as Scott, Jean, Beast etc...as well as many of the OCC’s and other Canon characters that are available. Please ask the Staff BEFORE stating or establishing that your character was one of the old, now disbanded, original X-Men.
