Re: electric racing
Are you able to make it to the track this friday? If so ther will be a couple of people that will be there to ask questions I will be there, fewel free to ask me any questions you want. I am the one with the two black trinity race bags. I run an assc. B4 and a losi xxx4, my name is Kevin look for me when you get there.. Chaging gears is pretty simple if you have the basic tools and some gears to choose from..I'll show if you are there..
Re: electric racing
How many classes can you run with your T4? On a normal race night, we usually only run 19 turn, but at a big race like this Saturday, if you had the time, you could run stock, 19t, and modified.
I run most race nights with two 3800mAH NiMH packs. You can probably get by with a couple of 3300mAH (or better packs).
For a beginner, speed is not your friend. You don't need the best most expensive batteries and motors. Take it slow, practice getting around the track with out getting stuck on the tubes. Jumps the jumps just fast enough to clear them. I know, big air is cool, but not fast. Watch some of the better drivers.
Re: electric racing
thanks i bought 3 4200 intellect ni-mh today i was told i dont need to discharge these is that true. whats the best 19t motor for a new t4 rs rtr. also need a modified motor what size motor can this truck take, i read something about a13x2 can i put that in a rtr t4?
Re: electric racing
I would go to associateds web page or look in the manual to see what the esc is rated for it may handle a 13x2 but if you buy a high end 13x2 (checkpoint) it may not handle it for the whole race. I would suggest staying two winds higher so it won't shut down or fry. Say its rated for a 15 turn motor I would run a 17turn, but like CCherwin said speed is not your friend right now.. I would start in the 19t class to get yer feet wet.. learn the track and what changes you need to make to get your truck dialed in before you throw big power at it. just my opinion... Kevin
