new here and want to race 1/8 gas buggies, but which one???
I used to race years ago at radioactive in bolingbrook, 1/10 electric truck. Now I want to start racing again and 1/8 scale gas buggies seem to be were its at. but which one is the best, or the best deal. I like the losi eight, is it bad to get the rtr one??? any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I will be bringing another racer with me who will be new to nitro racing....
Thanks, Paul Osipoff Jr.
Re: new here and want to race 1/8 gas buggies, but which one
If you can afford the 8ight Kit, motor, electronics etc, go for that, but if all you can afford is the RTR, get it. They seem decently fast, just get a good setup and some different tires and you're all set.

Losi 8ight RTR would be a good start, as it also comes with a DX2 Spektrum radio, out of the box......
I will have my 13year old running a Sportwerks Turmoil RTR buggy....also comes with a DX2 radio. I picked this one as the inital cost is far less than most, and still looks like a rugged buggy for the money....
It all depends on how much you want to spend out of the gate........
Re: ...
thanks for the reply guys, I was really leaning toward the losi and it looks like thats what I'm gonna buy. I will however go with the kit and not the rtr only because I want to be legal for the non-leisure hours events. Any advice on motors, servos, ect...
Re: ...
Well, you still could get the RTR, and buy a nice .21 as a "spare" engine with a starter box......practice\race with the RTR engine, and save the .21 for the bigger races.....just a thought
